Good place to stay.

This was the smallest room I've ever stayed at a hotel. Unfortunately since we had just travelled from a different continent and were looking for a temporary stay while we look for an apartment had a lot of luggage. With 1 double bed and 1 so-called twin and with 3 people in the room it was like canned sardines. Some other rooms looked slightly bigger but for some reason we ended up with the tiniest. Luckily it was ground floor so I was spared the weight lifting. Last 2 nights the HVAC system did not work (had to manually reduce the mechanical heater to cool the room down) No microwave in the room and staff would not replenish the coffee/sugar etc without being asked. Never got extra pillow/comforter either even after asking. I have lived in all sorts of hotels/motels and in a few countries as well but this was literally the most claustrophobic experience of my life. For 100+ EUR per day I do expect a slightly bigger room. This is not central London or Tokyo

My stay was generally good. The room was very clean but unfortunately my particular room smelt of acetone, perhaps from a previous guest. The shower couldve have been a bit warmer bit the flow of water was very good.You just need to watch out for the leathal stairs.

Good room and good facilities. The local area doesn't have a lot to offer so be prepared to check in and then head back into town if you want an evening out.

Lovely stay in Utrecht! Nice location relatively close to the centre. The hotel was comfortable and clean and had a very nice shower.

It is only basic rooms behind a cafe - which did not serve breakfast and was not open when I arrived. Free WiFi was terrible - did not work where the desk in the room was

Not too far from city centre. Room and bathroom are small but it has everything I needed. The downside was I had to check-out at 10am but theres no luggage storage facilities.

While the location is great, our family room had four beds, one of which was lumpy. My main complaint is that the bathroom was so narrow that I had to do gymnastics to get undressed. No kidding! Also, knees will touch the wall while on the toilet.

Staying at Hotel Chao is very much a no-frills experience. The hotel essentially consists of some rooms that are connected to a takeaway restaurant/cafe. There is no front desk or reception; keys are collected from a member of staff within the restaurant. The staff are nice enough and were willing to bring food to the room. The bedroom and private bathroom were clean and tidy and my sleep was peaceful. There was, however, a little oddness with the bedroom: I was staying there alone but there were six beds (four singles and a twin bed) in the room. This meant that the room was a little cramped. No complaints other than that.

It's clean, they have friendly staf, it 's newly renovated, refrigerator in the room

It was clean and the staff were friendly. The only reason why i shouldnt recommend it to other, is because of the size of the room. We were with 3 people, and it was very small!

We were happy with the room which while very basic was very clean and comfortable. Little natural light but it's only a place to sleep so that was ok. Staff were very helpful.

Good place for a short stay, close to bus stations, less than 10 mintes ot the Central Station and the area is quiet. The staff was friendly and took phone contact on the same day.

I only stayed there for a night, the staff was very friendly and helpful, downstairs was a restaurant operated by the family. Easily accessible and quiet surroundings, the teapot and teabags provided made the stay very homey.

looked a little suspect at start, being on top of a cafe, but pleasant service and they took you to your room. Good explanation of important info and always around to assist if needs be. Had a balcony on my room, which was nice in the brief moment of sunshine but also welcome as able to smoke without having to trudge out of the building. Clean comfortable and a good size room.

A stop on my way from Wales to Sweden by car. Very helpful with direction from the ferry and next day to find my next motorway to Germany. Provided sandwiches, fruit and cake for my breakfast in my room, which also had tea facilities.

Great place but it's a B&B not hotel. Staff are great only problem was the very steep stairs.

my stay was fine. The hotel is a good basic option. I was greeted by a friendly host and shown to my room, which was simple but quite large and very clean. En suite shower room was fine.

The young woman spoke perfect English and was very helpful. Overall the place was clean and suitable for a few nights.
