We absolutely loved The Landlord for it's historical charm! The antique furniture was so nice and the entire older charm of the hotel was nice and unique. It was super clean and the staff front desk and house keeping were also very attentive and helpful. We loved having the one bedroom apartment fully furnished it gave us room to spread out. Beds were comfy and air conditioner worked well And the parking is right there behind the building and convenience with that also good. We walked right out the front door and we were on the boardwalk and beach. Coffee shop at hotel also nice. We stayed on the third floor with a huge front porch to sit oceanfront. It reminded me of my Grandmothers house so much. We couldn't beat the price either! Thank you Lankford! We will be back soon for sure!

Property is especially convenient to boardwalk and beach, as well as restaurants and shops. Building is old, as many in OC are, but it is clean. Room was very small, bathroom was sparse and small--no amenities whatsoever. Loud air conditioner (window unit). Convenient parking.

It was an older small ocean from hotel. It had only the basics (a comfortable bed to sleep in, small sink & shower, and a tv). In a small room. The overhead fan was very dirty & the shower had used shampoo from the previous guest. The furniture & AC are old but functional. It was fine for the short trip; a comfortable place to sleep AND right there on the boardwalk to experience all the events, restaurants, and the beach.

Perfect location. Nearly dead center of the boardwalk. The hotel is very dated, but it was clean and quiet.

Good shape for an old hotel

A charming 100 year old hotel on the boardwalk you get what you pay for. No thrills. Very friendly staffed. I would definitely stay again.

The room was extremely small and dingy. It was noisy all night with other people in the halls yelling.. We dId not feel safe. Will not stay there again.

We stayed in the Raven room, and it exceeded my expectations. I was very impressed, and will definitely be a lifetime customer.

This property is so run down with trash all over. Leaky roof. The picture of the place that expedia shows is wrong place. I would never stay there again. The entire place is so run down. Porch was disgusting

Okay room for a quick weekend trip. It’s just a bedroom with 2 beds. Small bathrooms. Most of the taller members had to sit sideways on the toilet due to the closeness of the wall lol. Water pressure is non-existent, could barely wash the sand off our bodies. But it was okay nonetheless, you get what you pay for.

Great value within boardwalk proximity

Old hotel showing its age. A decent budget option on the boardwalk just don’t expect anything more than a bed and lamps. No maid service (there was a tip envelop informing us of our maid’s name but she was an ethereal rumor not to be found). Towels are sandpaper like. Lobby is open to the boardwalk so no air conditioning until you get to your room. No USB ports. Positives: smack on the boardwalk, front desk attendant was wonderful. Affordable. Clean despite age of property. Probably would not return unless it was the only option available.

Room had 24” TV, comfortable beds, very small bathroom with no vanity. Had to stay on the second floor and lug baggage up the stairs. No parking so had to park about half a block to the small parking lot and tote everything.

4 years ago we came down my daughter and her friend and myself. We stayed in the same hotel and I believe I had booked the same room. When we arrived it was a smaller room and no porch/balcony. The room was a quaint little room and definitely homey bedroom feel. I would definitely recommend for a family of 3 or a couple. Only complaint was walls are super thin and you can hear everything.

Pluses are the location and convenient parking. Minus is that it is very noisy, ar least people that stayed when we were staying were so loud at 2 am it sounded like they were in our room. Went on for an hour plus. And no phone in room to call front desk. Water pressure terrible, I could not wash my hair. The Lodge is not right on the boardwalk, which is where we were and I was expecting a porch right on the boardwalk. Also, if youre into security, this is not the place. The entrance is a screen door and anyone can come in. No chains or deadbolts on doors.

We stayed in "The Lodge" building. At first I was worried they didn't have A/C but they just keep the units off between guests. The A/C unit worked quickly once on. Room was quaint but clean and homey. Excellent location to the beach, and the staff were friendly!

Dated building and rooms barely able to fit two small beds and nothing else. We paid a lot of money for a very small room that had dirty carpets. I won't recommend this property if you have young children who need a little room to play around. The public area facing the beach had beer cans other trash that wasn't cleaned for the three days we were there, the area was dirty and the chairs were grimy and not usable.

Just needs updated duvets/ carpets. Bring queen sheets to cover over bedding & a blanket to use and you’ll be solid. Kitchen area / bathrooms are in good condition. Staff was all super friendly. It’s directly on the boardwalk & parking is directly behind the building. Overall I’d stay again.

I like all safety measures. Someone is always there. Convenient ,right on the boardwalk. Affordable prices. Over all very clean. The only thing that surprised me and i have never seen it before, all the years I have stayed in different hotels ,was that the cleaning people only replace the towels and did nothing else. I mean nothing else. No vacuum, no fixing the bed, nothing nothing

The location is perfect and the staff was awesome (I really appreciated the early check in). The hotel was clean but really run down. When i got to my room, the AC unit was off and it smelled super musty for over an hour until it got really cold. They should upgrade and get rid of the old carpet
