Nothing really, it’s a little bit of a walk from the train station but not too bad

The location was great - about a 20 minute walk from the train station through the town of Obertraun. From Obertraun, you can take a boat to Hallstatt, or you can take a bus from nearby the house. The house has beautiful views of the mountains and is in a quiet area. Breakfast was delicious, with options of bread, meat, cheese, eggs, yogurt, and more and served each morning between 8-9:30. The hosts are very hospitable and check in with guests each morning during breakfast to offer tips and recommendations for things to do in the area. They help you feel right at home in their place!

Very comfortable room in stunningly beautiful alpine valley. Friendly helpful hosts. They designed the place as a bed and breakfast and you can tell -- all the details are just right. In the end we much preferred this setting to Hallstatt across the lake.

Everything was excellent. The clean and the breakfast everything was great. We were family and we felt like we were at our house. Also she help us with places to go for tourism and restaurants.

lovely place in beautiful scenery with great, helpful hosts! If wanting to visit the Hallstatt area, I would definitely recommend staying in this area, as there is more value for many than in Hallstatt, calm, and easy to public transportation. And then do not hesitate booking your stay at Haus Rye, which is very cozy and clean and hosted by really wonderful and helpful hosts!

Basically everything was really great, and just to briefly note the view from our room was amazing and we had a remarkable, comfortable and exceptional stay thanks to both Jillian and Adrian, who are one of a kind friendly and very professional hosts and we can definitely recommend this house to anyone coming to Hallstättersee. Sweep, the cat, is around the house and she only adds up making you feel like at home. Overal, this was one of the best travel experiences we've had in a long while. If you are hesitating whether to book, you should definitely give it a try and guarenteed you will have a very nice time, very close to everything in the area and you also can enjoy the silence which is only occasionally interrupted by distant sounds of deers. 🦌

I can wholeheartedly recommend staying here. Adrian and Jillian are fantastic hosts, who were flexible and truly hospitable. The morning chats with Adrian during breakfast are a a great opportunity to learn about the area and have a good time doing so. The rooms were very clean, the view superb. Haus Rye is about a 15 minute walk to the Halstatter See, 15 minutes to the Krippenstein-Dachstein lift, and about 10 minutes to the train station, so easy to get around if you don't mind walking a bit (which you really shouldn't in this case, as the views are great wherever you go).

The mattress was on the softer side, but I guess that's a personal preference.

Everything was perfect- the place, the food, the surroundings- all and at a very good price and close to Hallstat. We had that cozy-nes feeling!

The breakfast was rich and ample. One had the opportunity to change on its reservation. The surrounding of the place (Obertraun, Upper-Austria) was marvelous and impressive.

Jillian and Adrian are the kindest person we ever met, there was no request they could not fulfill. The breakfast was delicious and always had a kind word from them. The view was amazing from the balcony and they have a very cute cat, Sweep. Didn't even feel like I was just a guest, but a welcome relative. Thank you for everything!
