When we arrived there was no key in the lockbox. Also the coffee machine in our room was broken. We were in the bottom floor & there was a lot of noise above us the first night. There was no staff on site!

The property was pretty good. Good parking, easy access to rooms, comfortable, quiet, excellent location. Great bang for your buck. Tyler was great and very helpful assisting me with everything around the property. I will stay there again and will Recommend & Refer other people i know who travel through Vermont to stay at the Chester House Inn

Spacious room with old world charm. Nice common space with games and seating downstairs. Clear and proactive commuication from the management staff.
Parking in the driveway was inadequate. With a snow storm coming through, had to park in a hard to find municipal lot 4 minutes walk away on icy sidewalks. Parking places closer to the hotel were subject to towing restrictions. Moreover, the warning about towing restrictions came via text message from the hotel staff at the last minute; we're lucky we received the warning in time and didn't get towed.

cozy inn (built in 1780)
no inn keeper on premise. limited parking (5 cars ). overflowing garbage dumpster outside & kitchen garbage inside. smell of cooking fish from long term renter throughout the house. kitchen sink full of dirty dishes and pots. street traffic noise heard in front of building. Low ceiling height in bathroom (6 ft)

We stay on the first floor. It was a lot of noise on the second floor, you can basically hear everything because the house is old.

OVER 170 $ for ONE night…
Fire place DIDN’T work. (on descriptions on Booking it is there, and there is no notice that fireplace didn’t work).
I came from longer travel, and the room was cold. It tooks about 1,5 h to worm it up comfortable.
You supposed not to use jacuzzi after 10 pm… ??!! 😳
And jacuzzi is leaking from the pipes to the room downstairs…!!?? 😲😳🫣

Breakfast was not provided. However, the breakfast at the Southern Pie Cafe down the street was excellent.
There was no staff on site who might have recommended a local place to get dinner. A list of suggested local restaurants and distances would have been helpful.

beautiful old house so you have to expect some creaking of floors, etc. but it was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, had a great hot shower and coffee, tea, hot chocolate for the morning. no breakfast, but everything else was very nice.
