Its away from city and no facilities nearby.
Horrible swimming pool experience. Its very small, very salty(High TDS) water. Not sure naintained well or not. Takeaway from this trip my son seriously ill with fever, shiver....
Dont recommend swimming pollol for kids.

The pool was a perfect temperature for our baby and the complimentary pool towels made life easier.
I think the hotel is good value overall and I’d definitely stay here again.
A few little gripes as follows:
Upon check in we were advised the pool closed at 21:30 and last entry was 21:00, this is correct, however despite checking in with our baby with us we were not told that children cannot use the pool after 20:00 and only found out upon entering the pool at 19:45. After leaving the pool we saw it says it on the board outside the fitness suite but it would have been much better customer service if reception staff had told us this when checking in.
We paid for breakfast, but if stayed here again I wouldn’t as I don’t think it was worth the money. There were a lot of options to choose from but not as much as at a premier inn breakfast and fresh fruit options were limited. I asked for a water one morning and there were black bits in my water, we asked for another which was no problem but that too had black bits in.

Really enjoyed my stay. We had two children who both loved the pool. Water was lovely temperature for the children. Rooms were very nice and all staff very helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Would stay in here again.

Had a lovely overnight stay a nice swim this morning lovely breakfast and had evening meal last night all the staff were lovely the hotel was modern clean and tidy we will stay again in the future

Took half an hour to check in room it wasn’t ready the mattress in the room. It was in convertible at all.

Very friendly and professional welcome. Lovely room, one minor issue was room was very hot but it was 24' outside so maybe had something to do with it
Bar service and breakfast both excellent with plenty of choice.
Pool and steam room etc were perfect for our needs.

Location was good for me as I was visiting family close by. Place is spotless. .bath didnt drain very well….breakfast was top drawer, beds were too soft for my liking…gym was decent, pool was suitable.
Check-in was easy….wifi was a bit in and out for the first few days, hotel seems to be quite well run overall, except for a few hiccups
Will stay here again, mainly because of location and lack of great alternatives

The hotel was very clean and modern both in our room and the main part of the hotel.
We only had breakfast but must say the choice and quality was superb.
Finally all the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would recommend it to anyone.

We couldnt use a voucher that was given to us so the trip for 1 night ended up costing us £351. We were very disappointed with the service as it was my partners birthday this was spoilt as we had a meal planned be were unable to do this.

The cleanest hotel we have stayed at for some time. The room was spotless and the beds very comfortable.

Room was a decent size and maintained. However, the room we had was right beside a doorway which kept making us think that someone was knocking on our door throughout our entire stay. There was also no fridge in the room and we heard the loudest music on the left of the reception when we checked in. Overall 2.5/3 out of 5 stars and we wont be back.

The staff were very helpful, making sure that i had a downstairs room because of mobility issues (the lift was out of service).

We had a better than anticipated stay with the hotel has relatively new interior with welcoming staff.
It was a good value choice with swimming pool where we drove there so the location is never the problem.
The place do feel extremely clean and the Buffett breakfast is good and well organised.
The only slight disadvantage is the water pressure of the shower is not the best.

Great hotel for a one night stay. Staff were all lovely and helpful. Leisure facilities were great. Good food at both dinner and breakfast. Hotels seems to have been recently refurbished and rooms are nicely decorated and spotlessly clean.

Great place, exactly what we needed for our roadside stop on the way from Scotland down to the SE of England. Excellent facilities- a real treat to have a swim and gym after a long drive. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful- I was erroneously charged twice for the stay due to a mix up by Expedia, but this was resolved quickly and efficiently by one of the receptionists at the hotel (also really refreshing in a big international hotel chain to be able to call up and speak to staff at the hotel directly, instead of an international call centre).

This is probably the best Holiday Inn we have stayed at. Comfortable room, friendly staff and good food.
It is close to both the A1 and A19 but virtually no traffic noise.
Walk through the nearby service area/filling station to the parallel road (A1068) and there are frequent and quick bus services (X9/X21/X22) to Newcastle City Centre.
Highly recommended.
