Wonderful stay at Firefly Cottage!! Enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and lake was perfect!! House is well equipped and comfortable!! Quiet, relaxing, and just perfect to unwind from the hustle and bustle!! Would definitely stay again! Thank you to our host Taylor who was very accommodating and available for any questions! House is perfectly situated & close to shopping & restaurants. We recommend this stay to anyone interested in staying in Moneta and Smith Mountain Lake!!

This amazing cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay right on the lake. The surrounding area combines mountain views and lakefront amenities with plenty of opportunities to visit restaurants and Smith Mountain State Park. The property is intentionally designed for "life being easier on the lake" and includes a nice game room downstairs as an additional place to relax. The host is very responsive and informative. It is an excellent place to book with good value.

This is the 2nd time I stayed at a property managed by this host, and each time, they've been very responsive and helpful both leading up to the stay, and during it.
Cute house with plenty of amenities. Quiet cove that's great for swimming and floating without worrying about boat traffic.
A note for anyone with a boat: If you're concerned about the depth of the water, with how far into the cove the dock is, don't be. We visited when the lake was very low (~792 ft. give or take, vs. a full pond ~795 ft), and when we docked our 18 ft. jet boat (using the dock farthest into the cove) bow in, our boat was still measuring ~5 ft. at the stern, even with the lake being low.

What a find! The house was well-stocked with necessities such as beach and bath towels, and the kitchen was incredible. We especially enjoyed kayaking and swimming; having three kayaks provided was so appreciated. Very attentive host. We had a great time!

Firefly Cottage was everything we could have asked for to make our long weekend enjoyable! The house was very clean, fully stocked with everything you could possibly need, and the view was amazing!

Super easy check in/ out process. Beautiful quiet, private setting among the trees overlooking the lake. Cottage was fully furnished with everything needed for our stay besides food to eat... very nice! My host was super responsive to all questions! Thankyou Taylor, for making this trip so enjoyable!

We (myself and girlfriend) absolutely loves our stay! The moment you walk in, you can't help but smile. Water views, and surrounded by trees, we felt instant relaxation. Very nice property off the beaten path. Easy access to the lake with dock. We rented a boat at the nearby marina and docked right behind the house.

Went for a quick weekend getaway late Jan, got lucky with 60-70 degree weather which was a plus to enjoy our time there more.
Space was super cute, clean, relaxing. Spice cabinet is fully stocked if you enjoy cooking while being there. There's a decent amount of things to do on the property inside and outside ( playing rock band being one haha) The house isn't far from other things to do like going into town for drinks, food, or winery.
Taylor was very nice, got back to us fast and accommodating. Would come back in the summer!

Had a great stay with my kids. The house was clean and offered lots to do. There are great lake views and you're steps away from fishing, kayaking, or just relaxing on one of two docks. Overall, it was a great time and would stay again!

My three kids and I loved staying here! It had everything that we needed to relax for a weekend getaway. The kitchen was well stocked, there were soooo many towels, and this is the only rental I have stayed in that finally has enough hooks for hanging everyone’s towels ;). I was also impressed that most of the life jackets for the kayaks were kept inside hanging neatly in the closet, so they were in great shape. Would definitely stay here again!

When we drove up to the property I never would have known it was there! The place was super cute and really spacious. The big bay windows were super pretty, especially the morning we left- it had started raining but the outlook on the lake was still just as gorgeous as it was during the sun! I am hoping to be able to book again in the future!

The game room is a huge plus! Once we got down there we immediately noticed the Wii Guitars (which is a really good throwback from when I was a kid!). Definitely would love to book again!

What an awesome lake house with all the necessities! We enjoyed our time on the lake. The kids spent all day on the docks fishing and kayaking. The porch was perfect for morning coffee. The house was clean with all the necessities and the owner was easy to correspond with. I couldn't say enough about our relaxing week at the Firefly cottage.

Taylor was super nice, accommodating and efficient in communicating. I would note there is no inside access to the downstairs basement area. You have to go outside to get to it which was a little worrisome for us trying to figure out sleeping arrangements since we had 2 kids. We did get it figured out and enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay there again!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Firefly Cottage! Taylor was very welcoming and quick to respond. A big plus for me was the fact that they allowed three dogs, and there is plenty of room for crates if you need them. The separate rec room is wonderful for play time, and I liked that they had gates on the deck. The kitchen was well stocked, the bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of towels available. A nice surprise was the Roku TV.
While the property getting down to the lake is steep (thank goodness there are steps! ;-P ), there are only a couple of steps getting to the main house door from the parking area, so it was easy to load in and load out. And getting to and from the rec room and the lake was good exercise!
While there, I saw a great blue heron on the dock, plenty of deer, and I'm pretty sure it was a gray fox up the driveway. It was nice to see the wildlife flourishing in that area.
If I head down that way again, I will definitely check to see if this place is available. Thank you!!!

We had a great 2 night stay. House was nice and clean. Lots of towels, tp, paper towels and soaps at sinks available. Very comfy main room couch. We enjoyed the wrap around deck. We had our 5 month old in our pack and play in one bedroom. One child in another bedroom. One child on the main couch. We used the fire pit. They had a couple fire cooking forks for s’mores. We played on mini pool table and foosball table. We play wii. We played ping pong. We fished off the dock and went swimming. Water was nice for a quick dip. We cooked in the kitchen. We used both showers. Everything was nice and worked great. Highly recommended this spot. We had great communication via VRBO app with owner. Our dog came with us and we had plenty of room for his crate. Quick location to Food Lion, Italian/pizza restaurant, and gas station.
