Colazione abbondante

We were met by the host's parents, who lived next door, on arrival who showed us around helped us to understand the layout and what was available, but then left us in peace and did not make themselves too "present" during our stay, so we felt very relaxed and comfortable. There were breakfast items on the table for the morning, water in the fridge, and even spare chargers for people's phones. All fantastic. The host was an excellent communicator in advance of the trip, and was polite and warm and easy to get in touch with. The pet golden retriever wandering around outside (called Guy) was super lovely and friendly and not in the slightest bit worrying or interruptive—we were all in love with the dog by the time we left. Finally, the views of Imperia from the house are stunning, so you can sit outside and relax and enjoy an amazing vista.

We were five individuals who wanted a bed each, but there were only four beds (two being doubles) so two of us had to share a bed, which wasn't ideal. There was no air conditioning so the place was almost unbearably hot. The booking form suggested there were no extra fees, but when we left the next morning, the host messaged to ask why I hadn't left €7.50 in cash for local taxes. I told him we didn't know about it—it had been hidden on an extra page of the booking form, so I'd missed it. He told me his parents said they'd informed us about it on our arrival, but that wasn't true or we'd have paid it immediately. However, when I told him all this, he wasn't concerned and was very cool about it. I offered to pay it retrospectively, but he told me to forget about it, so it wasn't really a big problem at all. The main issue with the stay was the difficulty of driving into the place with a van filled with musical instruments—the dirt road leading to the house did not allow our tyres to grip as we tried to exit and we slid down the hill and the clutch was burning. If you have a small or family-sized car, it will be fine, but be cautious if you're in a van. All-in-all though, nothing was a major problem and it was a very lovely stay. Post-script: After I left this review, which is largely very complimentary, I received an somewhat angry WhatsApp from the host saying he wasn't happy with what I wrote and that the part about the dirt road, in particular, isn't true and that it's asphalt. If I was wrong, then fair enough, but the van did slide down broken rocks and gravel, so just be aware of the quality of that very steep road.

We spent a night in the house and we enjoyed our stay . Very good and very clean 👌 and the views from the house were stunning...And the owners were lovely and very welcoming to us. If we should come back to Italy again I would like to stay in this house again.

Can't complain about anything at all.
