No power to the rooms. For a hotel in this highly tourist town known for its storm season it is not prepared and doesn’t care about guest comfort. The power from the generator was reserved only for the expensive restaurant. No discount for lack of any power or light in rooms.

We were super excited to stay at what looks like a neat funky place. Soon after arriving in our room, we heard a fan on, so looked and looked to see where it was. The shower room is separate and has a drape to pull across: and the fan was running. A switch to turn it off is no where to be found!! Yes, it runs 24 hours a day! And you will hear it 24 hours a day! I’m not kidding. You hear it at night even with the living room style drape pulled across the shower entrance. Not a quiet room for sleeping in.
We checked the restaurant menu for dinner that night, chatted with the host, also looked at the breakfast menu, and asked what time breakfast service starts. We indicated we would be down for breakfast the next day. The host acknowledged our plans. The next morning, it’s closed - for scheduled maintenance. We were told staff all knew this! Well the dots weren’t connecting for the host! The front desk told us the restaurant would be open for happy hour that afternoon, so we planned our itinerary to be back for it. Nope - it wasn’t open then either.
So we won’t be staying there again!

It was really cool! The hotel was fun and close to Chesterman Beach. We walked in 10-15 minutes.
Dinner was good.didnt try the hot tub, but found the hidden arcade.

Piisaak in the Garden a good documentation of the necessity to keep nature as it is of the necessity to be a rebel when culture of first nation and / or the natural surroundings are in danger...thanks to Hotel Zed for leaving the booklet to the clients , thanks to Hotel Zed for its engagement.Further Highlights : Hot Pool, ..outlook at the inlet......space to improve : Coffee Service in the room....restaurant when full--> noisy atmosphere --> bicicles rent should be incouded in th roomprice ......

Wes at the front desk reception was SO into his 70’s groove that it was exhilarating! The room shower was HUGE, bed was awesome, SO many activities to do for families AND the hotel location was perfect, walking distance to the beach, 1/2hr drive from Ucluelet & awesome hiking trails! Would definitely go back!

A little vacation at the sea. Zed Hotel has everything you need. The staff is super! Friendly, knowledgeable, very helpful. The food is excellent with serving staff again knowledgeable, also funny, and engaging. Only problem we experienced was the hot tub was out of service.

This hotel was a great surprise in a fantastic location just outside Tofino town, lots is character and an awesome cocktail bar and pit with a superb restaurant. Staff were welcoming and lots of fun. Love the retro theme. And all on one of the best nature reserves in BC. This is a return to hotel for sure

Very nice stay. A better sign on the highway would be nice…..we drove bay couple of times.
Nice to see different styling in a hotel. The Indigenous connection was great to see.

Family-friendly, vintage, dynamic and fun. Filled with surprises in the rainforest as well.
Staff are professional and busy with dealing with the peak.
Blinds are dusty.

This is a cool little hotel. The room was clean although the hallway rug was stained in several places.
The room does not have air conditioning and the window only partially swings open but it was not a problem. Tofino tends to cool especially in the evening.
Our room also had an interesting shower situation. It had a large shower that opened right into the room not into a bathroom. There were hooks in the shower to hang a towel or clothes. It would have been excellent if you were showering a small child with you.
The staff was very pleasant when we arrived but the info we received was limited although we did get a property map. We found ourselves with many questions…how to get coffee for the room in the morning, what checkout time was, how to use the bike’s etc. There wasn’t info in the room.
The hotel itself has some excellent vibes features- shuffleboard, ping pong, arcade games, a place by the mud flats to sit and relax, a hot tub, etc. I think this is an especially excellent place to stay with kids. There is a lot for them to do.

Overall, a great two night stay! Staff were friendly and efficient, bed was comfy, and the sauna & hot tub were a real treat after days spent hiking and biking! Easily recommend!
