The location was on a street with many nearby restaurants and shops that were highly rated. It was also very near some major sights in Matera. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom as also clean and the shower had plenty of hot water. There were also snacks and coffee/tea in the kitchen for us. Check-in was easy as well.

The noise. Every time a car rode by, it sounded like thunder, even with all windows and doors shut. Also, it felt a bit “lived in” in the kitchen, with a cabinet of open food, leftover condiments, etc. We certainly felt like we were sharing a home versus having a rental. Finally, we did not have access to the second bedroom, as pictured showed, which also means we did not have access to the balcony off the street. However, we would not have ended up using this balcony as the staff at the bar (along with some locals) would sit outside and drink most of the day, one day of which the staff worker was being vulgar toward passers-by. It was off-putting, to say the least.

We loved location. everything was clean, interior is really nice.

Casa Vacanze Otium was everything we look for in a holiday home and more - lovely, helpful host Giuseppe, fantastic location, spotlessly clean, great facilities, comfortable bed. We loved the outdoor terrace with the view of the rock church and we found it really quiet at night despite the central location. We will definitely recommend to our friends and will aim to return in the future as we didn’t finish exploring the fascinating city of Matera

We had an amazing stay at Casa Vacanze Otium. First, the host was extremely helpful. We arrived to the house on the day of a big festival in Matera and he gave us an early check-in and explained places to see and go around the city. The room itself was lovely, it was a perfect size for a couple and had everything we needed. A highlight for us was the location of the property. It was in the heart of the city, next door to amazing restaurants and bars. i would recommend staying at Casa Vacanze Otium to anyone.

Staing in Casa Vacanze just wonderful. Guseppe super host. He recommend us places to eat (And believe me, this was not usual tourist stuff - all the places was just wonderful. I understand it because me and my wife already 20 years in the restaurant business) He was very nice and answered all the questions we ask him. The appartments by itself was super clean, have got everything you need including stuff for kitchen, in case you want to prepare dinner at the site. What was specially important for me and my wife this is a place was not too crowded as well as in the evening it was quiet enough to have a rest after a long hiking trips around Matea and Pughlia. Outside of the apartment there’s small beautiful patio with fantastic view, in case you don’t want to spend additional money in the restaurants. So you can just buy a bottle of wine that cheese and prosciutto crudo and everything you want and just sit down and enjoy the evening. Grazie mille, Guseppe.
