About this cottage rental
If you are looking for peace and quiet, but close enough to all amenities and all that MidCoast Maine has to offer, then this is the place for you. This wonderful, modern, year round cottage with rustic features offers everything you would need for a family vacation. Don't settle for an "old in the tooth" property! You are in the heart of the most prime vacation region of Maine - located by beautiful Pitcher Pond, and minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, Camden, Rockport, and Belfast - you have access to boating, fishing, hiking, or just lounging around. Location makes this property very special.
Pitcher Pond is on the Lincolnville/Northport border in Midcoast Maine. It is 370 acres, 7.7 mile perimeter - but only about 1/2 mile across and 2.5 miles long. Fishing for bass and white perch requires a license. The pond is about halfway between Camden and Belfast, and Lincolnville Beach on Penobscot Bay is less than 8 miles away. There are many hiking trails in the region, and the local towns have many great restaurants, shops, grocery stores, museums, and other attractions. Only 90 minutes from Acadia National Park.
Just a quick bike ride, or nice hike, and you are at one of the best organic farms in the area - just buy from the roadside stand.
The cottage is turn key. Just bring some food…and all the rest is there waiting for you - including the bar-b-q! You have delicious and clean well water at your disposal. A spacious kitchen, large sitting room, and a huge deck awaits you. There are 2 bedrooms - one with an ensuite bathroom. There is also a 2nd full bathroom as well. Appliances include modern fridge, stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee makers, washing machine and dryer. The property is located on 3 beautiful acres! You can easily sleep 6 in the two double beds and the futon in the living room.
There is a flat screen TV for your use, plus high speed internet/wireless service. Bring your Roku /AppleTV/FireStick!!! (There is no cable or satellite TV service) All of the amenities of home, but in this beautiful and tranquil setting.
This is also a wonderful winter getaway. The property is fully heated and has a wood burning stove as well!!!
Please note that the cottage is NOT waterfront property, although it is only 400 ft. from the lake. You do have unlimited deeded access to the lake and a dock just a 2 minute walk away.

We just spent a month at this property. We loved the location- very quiet and peaceful right across from beautiful Pitcher Pond. The house is comfortable, clean and very well equipped with everything you may need. Michael the host is super responsive, helpful and accessible at all times. Enjoy your stay!

Our stay (2nd visit) at the cabin was just as wonderful as last year ! The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable with all the amenities of home. The kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials you miss when you leave home. The host is so incredibly kind and very responsive to any questions. Highly recommend! We can’t wait to return next summer !

Despite inclement weather, my partner and I loved our stay in this cabin on Pitcher Pond. The cabin is lovely and was immaculately clean when we arrived. The kitchen was nicely stocked and we were able to have my brother and wife, who live in Belfast, over for a great dinner one night. I particularly appreciated that we were able to bring my partner's dog with us. She was very calm and content in the cabin.
The beds and baths were very comfortable. It was nice to have two baths when getting ready to go out.
The location is extremely convenient to all mid coast attractions. We spent time in Camden, Belfast, Rockland, Searsport and Buckhead.
Thank you for such a pleasant and easy stay, Mike. We will be back someday. Soon, I hope!

We had a great stay at the house in Lincolnville near Pitcher Pond. Michael and Aytul were gracious and extremely helpful hosts. The house was clean and comfortable and area is beautiful with lakes all around and the ocean a short drive away. The access to the pond for swimming is not great. However, there is a great community beach on a lake in Lincolnville Center, no more than 10 minutes drive away with wonderful swimming. We would definitely return.

My wife and I checked in and could not believe how nice and spacious this house was. If you ever watched Maine Cabin Masters, this house fell right into the best we have ever seen. It is in the country but....15 minutes to Belfast and 20 minutes to Camden made it all worthwhile. Everything we needed was there. Plan on going back.

We loved hearing the loons at night. It was quiet and clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies.

Lovely, peaceful place. We will definitely be back!

The location is excellent. Accurate description in listing. We had an issue upon arrival and owner was easily reached and responsive. You have a view of the pond from the house & deck even though there’s a house across the street in front of the pond. It was the end of October, and the pond was very quiet. We walked a minute up the road to the shared shoreline which was different and beautiful every day. We met some nice neighbors. Hiked up the dirt road, hiked down to the Ducktrap River from the house down a snowmobile trail. Very relaxing and nature-filled trip.

We had a great week in this rental. It was a little hard to find because no house number was visible. Once you turn into Sixth Ave. it is the last cabin on the right. There are a few other cabins nearby; the neighbors we met were friendly and helpful, and it still felt private. The cabin itself was great - beautiful and roomy deck, large and fully stocked kitchen with a dishwasher :) and even a bluetooth speaker we could use. The bed was very comfortable and the shower fine. We brought our Firestick for the TV and it worked, but were too busy or exhausted after a day of hiking or kayaking to use it. Mike asked that we vacuum and wash/fold sheets and towels (W&D in the cabin worked well) before leaving, which was easy and quick. Renters are also asked to take the trash and recycling to the dump station, which was also easy once we found it. The facility is called MidCoast Solid Waste in Rockport (not Rockland) and it's amazingly well organized. Keep your recyclables separated into cans, glass, paper etc.. We used paper bags from buying stuff at the local supermarket, Hannafords. Trash should be put into the yellow prepaid trash bag (easily fits one week's worth) in the kitchen drawer.
The cabin was in a great location. Pitcher Pond is just beautiful - we heard/saw loons morning and evening, and plenty of ospreys when we were there. There is a put-in you can use at the end of the gravel road the cabin is on - it was about a 100 yard walk from the cabin, easy for transporting our kayaks. Camden and Belfast are each only about 15-20 minutes away and fun for walking around. Camden Hills State Park had great hikes and views. Hannaford supermarkets are in both towns and not too far. There's a small convenience store in Lincolnville. The best discovery is at the end of N. Cobbtown Rd, where it intersects with Rt. 52 there's an 'honor system' farm stand you can walk into, not staffed, with amazing organic produce, baked goods and meats, where you can pay with a credit card or cash.
Our dogs had a great time, too. Sixth Ave is basically a short gravel cul de sac, opening onto N. Cobbtown Rd with is also a dead end road, so there were great options for quiet dog walks in either direction (there's a tree farm at the "dead" end of the road with rare trucks, so I recommend keeping dogs on lead).
Mike is a great landlord, easy to reach, and there is also a property manager close by. We would definitely return to this rental.

Great property and centrally located!
We stayed for a week to use as a base to explore the central coast. We planned on spending time in Acadia and did go once (beautiful!) but it was too crowded for us (no huge surprise, July is peak season) - instead we spent our time exploring the local state parks and small towns along the coast. It was wonderful. The property, while in a very quiet location is just a short drive from so many great trails and restaurants. Our dog enjoyed the walks along the quiet lane and our daughter swam a bit in the pond. We spent many quiet afternoons and evenings on the deck with a beer and a book. Perfect getaway.

Best option, lovely location
We have two sweet dogs who love people, but other dogs, not so much. This setting offered a quiet scenic location where our pups could be off leash and we could be close to family over the holidays.

Secluded Maine cottage
My husband and I had a great time! We are so thankful for the awesome help of the owner who answered our messages quick and even answered the phone late at night! The biggest plus is that we got to bring our dog with us! The Place is difficult to find in the dark so I recommend arriving in the daytime!

Away from it all.
The place was great and we had a good time. Very private and quiet. Great that we could leave our kayaks by the dock and venture out onto the "pond." We enjoyed listening to the loons and the local farm markets. We would definitely return.

Quiet retreat
The cottage is well stocked, making it easy to cook, have coffee brewing in the morning, etc. The layout works fine and it was good to have two bathrooms. Although a new house is under construction across the road, there’s still a good view of the pond making for a peaceful vista. Most of the time it was very peaceful and quiet. We had fun exploring the adjacent areas and used the Hannaford market in Belfast on a steady basis. We could not get enough of the local blueberry pie! The owner provided timely assistance and helped us out of a jam when keys got locked inside the cottage.

Great location with water access. Everything we’d hoped for.

Pleasant stay
My husband, daughter, and I really enjoyed our stay! The cottage was clean and well equipped. The property manager, Jack, and all of the neighbors were very friendly and welcoming. We did not get to go in Pitcher Pond because there wasn’t good public swimming access but there is lots to do in surrounding areas and we found a couple of great public beaches to go to. We loved that we were allowed to bring our dog! It was a great area for taking him on long walks and he enjoyed going swimming in the public access area. It was a nice, peaceful place to unwind for all of us.

We enjoyed out time in Maine. The cabin had everything we needed and is conveniently located to various towns with lots of things to do.

Great house and friendly neighbors
The house was clean, well equipped and located on a beautiful lake. The neighbors were so nice and helpful! The property manager was always ready to help with any of my needs. Even changed a tire on the side of the road after hours. I was so grateful! Belfast was close by for anything I needed. Overall a great experience!

Peaceful lake vacation
The house is clean and comfortable. Nice spot on the lake. We enjoyed every minute of the trip! Hope to do it again next year!

Peaceful and convenient
Beautiful setting with all the amenities you will need. Wonderful piece of shared Lake front with abundant hiking trails nearby. The small towns of Camden and Belfast as well as the Coast were within a ten minute ride. I know it’s all about lobster but we found a great little Italian Restaurant in Belfast called Delvino’s excellent food and very reasonable. Due to COVID there was still some construction going on at the new build but it was no bother for us as we are early risers and we’re gone hiking most of the day. Acadia National Park was about an hour plus ride but a must see. Largemouth Bass were abundant could be caught from the dock. Beds were comfortable, living room furniture could use an update but all in all it was wonderful vacation for us

Perfect spot by the lake!
We had a perfect stay at Michael's great cottage across from the lake! 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, great front porch and everything one could need in a vacation rental! Plus a washer and dryer!
Will be back as many summers as we can!!
Thank you so much!!

Simple Living Done Right
We loved the cottage! The road it was on was very quiet and peaceful, which was exactly what we were hoping for. The water access was about 2 minutes away by foot -- and the lake was equally peaceful -- without tons of boats buzzing by. A real retreat. The over-sized deck was perfect for our 16 month old - plenty of room to run around, even with the whole family sitting on the deck. The open main room was perfect for everyone hanging out. And generally the location is great -- 15 minutes to Belfast (a great town!) and 25 minutes to Camden -- also very close to the very cute Lincolnville General Store, where they have a lot of delicious prepared foods.

You can't beat the price for what you get!!!!!!
Thank you, Mike and Jack for such a wonderful month of rest and relaxation.
This house had all we needed and with the use of the dock and canoes on Pitcher pond made it exceptional.Caught a few bass off the dock.
If you want a quiet and peaceful property, yet 15 minutes from Belfast for shopping, then this is the place for you.
We definitely will be back.

Quiet, cozy winter getaway
The cottage was exactly as advertised, beautiful view of Pitcher Pond! Nicely furnished with all the creature comforts of home. The newly added wood stove made the cold winter weather a nonfactor. My husband, myself and our lab thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and peacefulness this cottage offers in the winter! Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting!

Fantastic, quiet house across from a beautiful lake!
Wow! This house could not have been any nicer. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you could ever need. The owner, Michael, and the property manager, Jack, were very responsive. We spent over a month here in the fall and the lake was gorgeous! Caught fish and canoed. It's so quiet and peaceful. There's a wonderful farm stand at the end of the road that carries fresh produce and raw milk. The local food store is not far, and Loncolnville beach and town are also close. Really pretty, quaint town with a nice beach and good restaurants. They just opened the Linconville general store and that's a must to visit with terrific pizza. Yes, great pizza in Maine! ( And coming from Jersey, we know about good pizza!) The house is very comfortable with nice beds and so much counter space in the kitchen. The wifi and TV were fine. Faster speed than we got back at our old house. The lake is one of the cleanest we've ever seen. There's a nice view of it from the front of the house. They have a public dock not far from the house as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here.

Great cabin in Lincolnville
The owner was very accommodating. Cabin is clean and comfortable. Very convenient to have more than one bathroom. Location is beautiful -- wonderful view of Pitcher Pond from the porch (spent many hours relaxing on the porch). Kitchen is well stocked. Easy to get to Lincolnville, Belfast, Camden etc. Will definitely be returning.

Better inside then out.
The yard was overgrown and had little outside furnishings. The outside door was falling apart and lopsided. Towels were few and small. No fun lake toys like a rafts or kayaks or canoe. No beach chairs. No games for a rainy day. The inside was nice, clean and roomy. Kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans. There was a Lobster pot however there were no Lobster crackers.

So relaxing.
Quiet. Big rooms. Great porch.

Rustic, but that is what we expected.
Great environment. Kayaking on the pond was terrific!

Lovely location from which to visit the beautiful towns in Mid-Coast Maine!
This was a beautifully located property in Mid-Coast Maine. We enjoyed our four-night stay, visiting Ogunquit on our way up from the Boston area, Belfast, Camden, Rockport, Rockland (don't miss the Breakaway), Lincolnville Beach and Acadia National Park. We briefly visited Portland on our way back home. Camden was our favorite of the nearby towns, though we truly enjoyed them all.
Some of our favorite meals out -- Breakfast/brunch at Bell the Cat in Belfast; deli/soups/etc. at Market Basket in Rockport; dinner on the patio at Rhumb Lime in Camden, and lobster dinner at Union Lobster Pot in Ellsworth (on our way back from Acadia).
In terms of the property itself - it was very nice! We were two adults, two older teens and a Labrador Retriever. We were all quite comfortable. Working (direct) TV and internet, which I gather is not super common in the area. Well appointed kitchen, working gas grill, lovely deck (as per pictures), lovely view of the lake.
The only *minor* disappointment we experienced is that I had mistakenly understood that there was a canoe for use by renters based on my mis-reading of a prior review. I had pictured us canoeing on the lake, but this was not to be. If we'd had more time, or had planned ahead, I would have rented a canoe or kayak, as the lake was *gorgeous* and I would have loved to experienced it from on the water. It appears that rental crafts are easy to come by or if you meet the neighbors (as was the case in the review I mis-read), you might be able to take advantage of a loaner :-).
This was truly an easy and enjoyable rental! My thanks to the owners for making it available!

Nice rustic cottage with easy access to the water. Well equipped with dishes, cookware, and linens. Courteous and reasonable owner. Beautiful location, especially in the fall.

Peaceful, beautiful Pitcher Pond
The cottage was perfect for our needs with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. It was well-equipped and tidy. Internet was sketchy and we had a hard time keeping up with emails etc. That said, Maine is where we (should) go to get away from all that - but my husband had to keep up with work. The cottage is not on the water but across from a property on the water. Pitcher Pond is idyllic and quiet, wooded and pristine. Our stay was very relaxing.
