About this house rental
Nestled in the trees of a fully wooded neighborhood, this spacious home is only 3 miles from town and less than a mile from the community path leading to majestic views of Mt. Denali! This warm, remote home is conveniently accessible to all Talkeetna has to offer. Perfect for large families with beds for 12 people. Cozy up to the fireplace after a full day sightseeing, take in the surrounding nature on the wrap-around covered porch, or cook dinner together with family and friends.

The 1.5-acre lot is surrounded by trees and lawn. The open downstairs has wood floors with a bar top separating the dining area from the living room. Go out to eat at one of the town's great restaurants or stay in and cook with the fully stocked kitchen. Amenities include drip coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, waffle maker, gas stove and oven, microwave, refrigerator, double basin sink. The dining area has a large extendable table for large group seating. There is also a small work station/breakfast bar just outside the kitchen. The half bath is conveniently located downstairs. In the living room there is a 43” flat screen smart TV with surround sound, Blu Ray player with numerous movies. Relax in the recliner, sleeper chair or couch in the adjacent living room and enjoy a warming fire in the fireplace with wood provided. The couch folds out into a queen bed for additional sleeping space. For those working away from home, there is a large working desk upon entry and high-speed unlimited internet available.
Upstairs are the 3 bedrooms with carpet throughout. The master bedroom has a queen bed with memory foam cover and its own separate bathroom with sliding glass door on this shower/tub. Brand new 2 person infrared sauna to relax in.
The second bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed and includes a twin trundle for extra sleeping area. The third bedroom has a full-size bed with twin trundle underneath and another twin bed. All bedrooms have closets and two of the rooms have large dressers for storage.
The separate upstairs bathroom includes a curtained tub and shower. The room also houses a washer and dryer for guest use with laundry soap provided.
The covered wrap around deck has a large table with chairs if you want to sit outside and relax while staying out of the rain or summer heat.
The house is fully stocked with towels and linens, along with the fun stuff like cards, board games, books, and puzzles.
The entire house is yours to enjoy. The separate garage and storage shed are not permissible for guest use. Plenty of private parking is available. We keep one closet locked inside the house for our housekeeping needs.
As we are owner operators, we are available as much as possible and will respond to texts or phone calls within a few minutes. While staying with us, we give you space to enjoy the area. However, we are only a text away.

House was nice and cozy. Clean and well stocked. I appreciated the shampoo/conditioner, laundry detergent, few condiments left in the frig and even a mini box of wine! The kids loved the games and playing in the big yard. Would recommend staying here!

House was as advertised, clean, and in good repair. Pictures don't do it justice. This place is beautiful. Only issue was a smart door lock that was smarter than I was. Owner responded almost instantly and took care of the problem. I would have no problems staying her again.

We enjoyed our time in the house and wish we could have stayed longer! Talkeetna is adorable and is a very quick drive to restaurants and activities. The home was clean and beds were comfortable - more space than we needed for our family of 5. We would recommend staying here if traveling through Talkeetna.

For a weekend getaway with family that is scattered all over the state of Alaska, this was a great location in an adorable town. We had a great time. We had a party of 9 show up and two that couldn’t make it. It was a bit of a tight squeeze in terms of seating for this large group. This house would probably be more comfortable for a group of 8 or less people. Overall, it was great!

I am a major review reader before making decision so I hope this helps others. This place was amazing! Very comfortable and felt like home. It felt private in the woods even though you had neighbors. It was a convenient location. We really fell in love with this town. We stayed at several places in our visit to Alaska but this is one we said we would return to. Not only the town but this house. I highly recommend!!

This home was a perfect place for my family in Talkeetna! About 3 miles away from downtown but it felt like it was in its own world - couldn’t hear many cars and surrounded by beautiful woods. We saw two moose grazing 30 feet away and got to watch from the beautiful wraparound porch.

We really enjoyed the location and style of this home. The property managers were kind and quick to help with any questions we had. Well stocked kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms. A must stay!

Our group of 6 spent 2 nights here on our 7 day getaway! House was wonderful and the best built of the 4 VRBOs we experienced! Everything you need was there! Took a flight through the glaciers and drove up to Denali. Only downside was that “state birds” were thick so we didn’t get to enjoy the yard as much as we would have liked!

My brothers and I with our dad planned on an Alaskan site seeing and fishing trip and this VRBO was perfect for the first half of our vacation until we made our way to Homer. House fit our needs. 7 adults-2 couples and 3 adult children. Tall family had difficulty with footboards on beds. Upstairs needs a second queen bed option. Blinds let in a lot of light. Could use room darkening curtains. A USB plug would be helpful for adults to use phones for alarm clocks. It was difficult with wifi and obtaining code early. Asked for code 4 days early to be prepared and was denied by owners until after lunch same day. Obtained code at 4pm with check in at 5 pm. There is limited wifi after leaving airport...despite coverage map given to me by owner instead of code early.

The home worked very well for our family group of five 70+ year olds. We were very comfortable. The location was very convenient to the center of Talkeetna.
There was a slight issue with keypad access, but Kelly was able to give us instructions for a work around.
If we were to be in the area again, we would certainly consider staying here again.

Stayed 4 nights at this wonderful house and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything our party of 6 needed for comfortable lodging was provided. It’s a very clean and cozy space nestled in a heavily wooded lot a couple minutes from town. The owners provided expedient responses and useful advice when contacted with questions about the area and property. Waking up in the am on checkout day to a resting momma and baby moose in the yard was an amazing bonus sight. Kitchen had everything needed for homestyle cooking and all appliances/utilities in the house worked perfectly. The many nice photos in the VRBO listing don’t do full justice to how beautiful the property is in person. A great home base for Denali sightseeing and Alaska fishing adventures. Rob and Kelly have set a standard by which all our future VRBO rentals will judged. Thank you and we hope to visit again.

Great Stay
We had a great time at this beautiful house in the woods. We had two families of 4 and had plenty of space. The location is great - close to town but just far enough away to enjoy the wilderness. The house was super clean and came stocked with all the amenities one could need. We definately will be back.

Lovely, spacious and convenient
Nestled in a wooded lot, conveniently located to Talkeetna. Comfortable and roomy interior. We had 6 people, so appreciated the 2 1/2 baths. At certain times of the day, the mosquitoes outside could probably carry you away, but there were times when they weren't bad. It's a little less than than 2 1/2 hours to Denali National Park from here and a very easy drive.

Beautiful house close to Talkeetna
My family of 5 with kids ages 10, 11, and 12 along with my 70 year old inlaws enjoyed this house very much. Plenty of room, nice kitchen. Talkeetna is a cool interesting little town, we did the jetboat to devils canyon, took a plane to a glacier landing. Ate dinner at mile high pizza pie and Denali brewing company. Great times!!

Quiet, beautiful property close to town but tucked away!
Our family (myself, wife and 2 little girls age 3 and 5) stayed for 3 nights in this wonderful home. We fell in love with the neighborhood and are trying to find our own place somewhere around here now. The spacious, very smart layout allows for a larger family or group while still maintaining that “cabin” feel. The owners were exceptional with communication, any inquiry was answered basically immediately. You can tell they take a lot of pride in this beautiful place. The large kitchen is well appointed and stocked… when we rent a VRBO, I’ve started taking my own non-stick pans because nothing drives me crazier than the typical pan situation, but this home had really nice cookware for a very pleasant change! We highly recommend this home as a base camp for all your Talkeetna adventures!

Loved Talkeetna
This is a great house! It is well built and beautifully appointed. It also had lots of little things that come in handy like extra blankets and a full spice cupboard. We had friends come hang out with us one evening and all of us enjoyed chatting together by the fireplace. This house is close to everything you might want to do in the Talkeetna area and such a comfortable place to return after a full day of Alaska fun.

Beautiful Property
Our first impression was “Wow, this is gorgeous”. The home is beautifully done with warm shades of wood and comfortable furniture. There are plenty of games and books available for indoor entertainment. You can see moose roaming the area at almost any time of day. Town is nearby with some quaint little shops and restaurants. I would love to see the area during the summer. I give this home an A+.
