There is a living room with a fireplace, vaulted ceiling with ceiling fans, and loft. There is a dining area and granite peninsula with seating for six in the kitchen along with laundry on the first floor. The kitchen is well equipped with refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, stove with two ovens, coffee maker, K cup, and coffee grinder, wine cooler, blender, mixer, toaster oven, a spice collection, and a wide assortment of cooking utensils and gadgetry should you decide to eat in.
The main living area includes a large HD TV with Blu Ray DVD player, and a video collection. There is also an MP3 player, stereo with radio, CD player and a CD collection. Upstairs has an open loft area with a wet bar. Games include puzzles, assorted card games, checkers, Uno, Sorry, Monopoly, Yahtzee and others.
The first bedroom with sleep number queen bed has it's own fireplace and views of Lewis Bay with flat screen TV, DVD player, and sliders that open for fresh salt air and summer breeze that you will remember long after you return home.
The second bedroom downstairs has a king size bed with flat screen TV, and DVD player. The master bedroom upstairs has a king size Sleep Number bed, and view of the ocean to round out the sleeping arrangements you'll find in our home. This bedroom also has a flat screen TV, and DVD player. All bedrooms have bed side lights and stand alone fans.
An expansive ocean side deck and almost entirely enclosed yard allow for summertime family fun cooking out and playing games on the lawn. Sand chairs for the beach are provided.

This place is a real gem. Thank you so much for your hospitality and organized communication throughout our stay. It was an incredible experience to have a full week of being on the beach. Your home felt cozy and full of everything we could possibly need. Our kids loved all the sand toys (and gift bag) and we played more of the board game “Sorry” than ever in life. We enjoyed meals and popsicles outside and the kids loved doing cartwheels on the lawn. Thanks for your warmth and responsivity when we needed anything. We would absolutely love to come back and make this a tradition.

Great house with everything you would need for our family vacation. We like making on our own breakfasts and lunches and the trying new restaurants for dinner. Just bring clothes and food for your stay. The only thing we found that being next to the beach parking lot, cars were coming all night long. Besides that, it was perfect.

Upwind is an amazing house and Gail and Brian the best of hosts. Anything we could possible need was provided and any minor issues or questions we had were immediately responded to. I have never rented a place that had a better equipped kitchen or more items provided to make the stay perfect. The beach is only a 3 minute walk across a parking lot and is perfect for children as it is quite calm and warm. Great property!!!!! Great hosts!

Upwind is a generously appointed (complete with innumerable extras, like beach towels, beach umbrellas, coffees, teas, soaps, and on and on...), spacious, supremely clean, welcoming, nicely located, and comfortable. A perfect home base for our cape wanderings. And the grounds are lovely, complete with wildlife-friendly habitat and consequently a spectacular birdsong symphony!

We absolutely loved our stay here! There was plenty of room for our family of five. Brian and Gail were incredibly easy to work with. The location can’t be beat. We especially enjoyed the lower deck for lunch and dinner outside and the upper deck for sunsets and that gorgeous view! Beds were comfy, house was well stocked, soap, linens, you name it! Everything we needed was provided. We hope to see you again!

This summer home was a balm for the soul. We have left tanned, relaxed and looking forward to another week at Upwind. To be so close to the beach was a blessing, and watching and hearing the birds in their wildlife habitat was a bonus. Gail and Brian thought of everything - every time we thought we would need something, we opened a door or drawer and there it was! It was perfect!

Great trip to the Cape!
We loved staying at Gail and Brian's home in West Yarmouth. The size of the house was perfect for us - 4 adults and 2 children (8 + 10). The short walk to the beach and view was spectacular!! Gail and Brian were readily available if we needed, and were so hospitable. Highly recommend

This was the most pleasant and relaxing vacation we’ve ever been on. Our hosts, Gail and Brian couldn’t have been any nicer! It was a pleasure meeting them and Coco. They were helpful and the welcome book they prepared was great. The welcome bag they left for us had some treasures that will continue to remind us of this week. Very thoughtful . The house was cute and comfortable. Decorated so nicely and super clean. The house was well equipped with everything you could possibly need! Wonderful house close to the beach
The house was perfect for 2 couples. It was clean, everything you need is supplied and the views were beautiful from the deck. A very short walk to the beach, ocean breezes made it comfortable in a hot, humid week. Brian and Gail were very nice and were available in case we needed anything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Our stay at Upwind was a breeze.
Brian and Gail have been hosting for awhile and it shows they have thought of everything to make your stay seamless. This spacious home is even more impressive than the photos. The location is ideal the proximity to the beach is excellent. We took kayaks to Egg Island, daily walks on the beach , trip to Martha's Vineyard (Ferry is 2 miles away). My family gave me high marks for choosing Upwind I would not hesitate to do it again.

What a beautiful property this is! The friendly owners told us to just pack our bags and they provide nearly everything. And indeed, they really have thought of everything you need to enjoy your stay, including equipment for our 18 month old grandson ! Perfect location with magnificent views. Great Time at Upwind
My wife and I cannot thank Brian & Gail enough for allowing us to rent their beautiful home last minute. It was the most glorious week filled with lots of time taking in the ocean breezes, sand, sun, sunsets from the stunning balcony and the occasional windstorm. The location is very convenient to Hyannis for great food, shops and Ferry access and about a 30 min drive to Chatham.All in all it was a wonderful experience and we would gladly be guests at Brian and Gail's "Upwind" house in the future!

Excellent oceanfront property
This is a beautiful, well maintained three bedroom, two bath home just a few steps away over a nice footbridge to an uncrowded beach. The water is clean, nearly weed-free and shallow, and safe for children. The second floor deck provides a panoramic view of the ocean and nearby estuary. Unlike many beach rentals, this house is equipped with two king size beds and one queen size bed, all very comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, and all the necessary dinnerware and cookware is provided. Owners Gail and Brian Quinn could not be nicer and more accommodating.

Perfect Getaway
We do not normally write reviews but our experience at this property was so wonderful that we needed to share. The house is beautifully decorated with amazing views of the ocean and marshlands from the upper deck and a great yard and lower porch for activities and meals. The real gems however are the owners who were such wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back!

Upwind Vacation 6/27 - 7/11
Our stay at Brian and Gail's wonderful beach cottage Upwind was an excellent experience. Our hosts thought of everything to make us comfortable. Even giving us a tarp to put over our bikes when it rained. Thank you Brian. The best part by far was the upper deck with its sweeping views of Lewis Bay and the ocean beyond. It was so relaxing to just pop up there with morning coffee and a book or to just enjoy watching the change of the tides, the boats, people and the ferries coming and going. We were there for the 4th of July weekend and even though the town fireworks were canceled the people had so much patriotic pride. Considering the limits we are all held to these days, everyone needed to let loose. We enjoyed much of the cape, beaches, lighthouses, went kayaking and even went to Martha's vineyard.
We very much appreciated coming back to Upwind at the end of a full day. We would certainly love to stay at your beautiful home again. Thank you both!😎�

Wonderful week at Upwind!
My husband and I spent the week with our parents at Upwind and could not have asked for a better experience. From check-in to check-out, our stay was everything we hoped for. The house itself is beautiful and can we talk about the perfect location!? The ease and convenience of having the beach 25 yards away (and all the beach gear you could need already at the house) is unmatched. Gail and Brian are wonderful, kind hosts and extremely responsive to anything that might come up throughout your stay. We highly recommend and hope to be back!

A perfect week!
The property was lovely with great views and kept very well! The owners left instructions for just about any question you might have which made it very easy. They have just about anything in the house you will need from shampoo to Laundry detergent to board games. Loved our week here. Owners great to work with and had many welcoming touches for our stay. Home is extremely well equiped and had everything we needed. The weather was pretty humid and things cooled off in the evenings with great breezes most nights.

Beautiful house
Thank you for sharing your beautiful cape cod house with us. We loved the peace that the waterfront brought us. The bird sanctuary was pretty and interesting to watch the different birds. We loved everything about the house, beach and nearby areas. We took in seal excursion, mini golfing, and tried various seaside restaurants. Brian and Gail were helpful from the moment I booked, to the end of our stay. I had questions, and they were very quick to answer them. The home was clean and inviting upon our arrival. They had the table set for us, and left us a small gift with a welcome note. We needed nothing but clothes and food. The beach/ocean was great. We walked, swam and fished it daily. We enjoyed the top deck on the home every night, watching the lights from the ships which passed thru Hyannis harbor close by. We vacationed in September and the weather was perfect and the crowds were minimal, exactly what we were looking for. The Cape Cod bike trail was awesome. We rode different sections three times, as well as a 30 mile ride thru the surrounding neighborhoods. We also took the ferry to Nantucket Island. That was a fantastic trip and I highly recommend it. There is plenty to do in the area if you choose, but the home is lovely and comfortable and hard to leave. The outdoor shower was cozy and the beds were very comfortable. The few neighbors we talked to were as pleasant as Brian and Gail. You will NOT be disappointed if you stay at Upwind.

Perfect Home Away from Home
We rented this house the first week in September and we couldn't be happier. The house is extremely clean and very well equipped which made cooking and eating in a pleasure. It even has a wine refrigerator and outdoor shower which we took total advantage of. The owners of the property are super nice. They gave us a beautiful beach bag filled with Cape Cod and beach souvenirs, and the perfect beach toy for our 3 year old grandson which he loved.
We enjoyed cocktails on the upper deck overlooking the beach and harbor in the evenings. On a cold and rainy day we sat in the upper sitting area which was bright and airy to play board games and watch the weather. Our family and friends visited us throughout the week and everyone loved the opportunity to be on the water and totally relax.
In addition, West Yarmouth is close to so many things so trying out different beaches was easy and shops in Hyannis are only 10 minutes away. Just perfect!
