Great stay. Cool area. There were deer and wild horses outside at night.

The cabin was the perfect size for our family of 9. We had plenty of beds, baths, and eating space. The furniture was comfortable and the back deck was amazing. We saw numerous wildlife, went on lots of outdoor walks, enjoyed the large and nice hot tub, and had a relaxing weekend. The owner was very kind and checked on us after a weather event that took place during our stay.

Such a wonderful space, the home is so cozy. Such great energy and welcoming. I had a party of 10 and everyone fit so comfy. So much space and the outside landscape is so healing. We will be back very soon!

I loved the layout and size of the cabin. Very easy for 2 families with a bunch of kids in the bunk room.

We enjoyed our stay. The only thing that would have made it better would be air conditioning. The swamp coolers provided were not enough. Our family is hot natured and the house was hot until about 9 pm.

A Great Family Getaway!
This was the perfect accomodations for our family of 10 to celebrate an early Christmas! We enjoyed the fireplace, back porch and hot tub very much! We saw so many deer! The large bedroom with the 2 sets of bunk beds, queen size bed, and comfy sitting area was great for the kids! Our thanks to the owner for her kind hospitality and great assistance!

Easter getaway
Communication with property owner was great. She helped us when we got lost at night locating the property. She is super sweet. Our main complaint is the house was dirty. Dog hair all over rugs. Dog urine stains in carpet in master bedroom. Dirty floors and carpet. The rugs in the master bathroom look dirty. The kitchen wasn’t very clean there were crumbs all over floor and the stove top was flithy. The coffee pot still had coffee grounds in it and the carafe was dirty. The laundry detergent in the laundry room cabinet was watered down- so don’t know how clean the towels/sheets are that we are all using. The cleaning company is doing a poor job in between guests. The cabin is a bit outdated and doesn’t have AC which isn’t a problem in the winter months but could be quite warm in spring or summer. At the time of our stay we were told the heater works intermittently and probably needs replacement. There were some space heaters provided. I feel this should have been communicated prior to booking. We paid a number containing 4 digits for a weekend stay and I definitely do not think it’s worth that amount of money especially during the off season. We were told we’d be refunded some money due to the condition of the cabin and that has yet to happen. The back patio/deck is nice. New grill and nice hot tub. We did enjoy sitting out there although it was not very relaxing in the evenings because the property backs up to some other cabins and they were blasting music and yelling all evening. We will not be staying at this property again.

Great Property
This was such a cute cabin to stay in. The cabin is not too far from local activities, was easy to find and comfortable to stay in. We felt at home the entire time we were there. We had a couple of minor issues but the property contact was super responsive and helpful in a timely fashion

FANTASTIC
We had a youth retreat and stayed here. It was such a nice space for all of us and a very homey atmosphere. Pictures do not do it justice. We had a great time!

Just Perfect!
We loved this cabin because it is in a beautiful area about 10 minutes past the bustle of downtown Ruidoso. There is plenty of land around the cabin and deer everywhere! The cabin had plenty of room for our three families to all stay together, each with our own bedroom and bath, but also with a large living room and kitchen for everyone to gather together. The owner was very responsive to the questions we had about how things worked; we greatly appreciated her willingness to help us have a wonderful time! We will definitely stay here again.

HUGE, COMFY, PERFECT
The place is huge, it was cozy and the location was great. The kitchen is nicely equipped. The fireplace was great and so was the hot tub. The kids really enjoyed their stay, the rooms were very large and everyone had enough space; they especially loved the fact that the deer were super friendly. My only recommendation is that you bring board games/games for entertainment. The room to the right of the laundry room got a bit cold and is a bit loud due to the boiler right next to it. Other than that, the place was GREAT!

Very beautiful and secluded setting.
This cabin was perfect for our two families. A bedroom each for the adults and a bunk room large enough for all the teenagers. The open kitchen and large living room was a warm and spacious gathering place for all of us. The outdoor hot tub and the large deck just completed all we needed to enjoy this mountain retreat. Easy access to a convenient store, a short drive to Sky Apache and to Ruidoso.

The property clean and beautiful
We had a good time. The only bummer was the bunk room heater did not work. Our first night was very cold and it was hard to sleep. We opened the windows and let the sunlight in and ran the space heater all day, so the second night was much better. Overall it did not ruin the trip, but the first night was a bummer.

Truly a home away from home!
The house has a cozy charm right off the bat and is more impressive with each and every step. We held a women's retreat from our church and everyone was impressed with the charm and comfort of this home. There was plenty of room for socialization and yet enough space to "get away". The heard of elk that came through the property in the mornings was spectacular too. Everyone felt at home here and were able to truly take a "rest" from our everyday lives.

Awesome Family Vacation
We stayed at this cabin for a 2 night mini family vacation and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The cabin is very clean, spacious and beautiful. There were 8 adults and 4 children and everyone had a bed. The deck is lovely and deer came every morning. By the second morning they were eating corn and apples out of our hands. The kids were amazed. We had a small issue with the hot tub the first night but Patty was extremely helpful and problem was resolved over the phone. Would recommend highly and will definitely go back.

Great house, we would stay again!

Large enough for a big family reunion and still cozy enough for an amazing time in the mountains. Highlight was the deer and wild horses. We will definitely be back. Everyone had the best time. Lots of memories on this trip. Thank you Patty!

We had a great time during our stay July 14 - 19, 2017. House was set up great! Lots of essentials in the kitchen. The reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because a few of the screens were either broken or not there at all. Therefore; we had a huge fly problem. We had to have them open for the air flow to keep house cool. But other than that, it was a great place to stay.
Property Manager was extremely helpful and very prompt in answering any questions!
2.0
Overall the cabin was great for what we needed. There was plenty of room and beds to accommodate two families with small kids. The best part was definitely the deck. It was a great place to hang out and relax. There are lots of deer around the cabin. One even came up to the kids and ate out of their hands.
The cabin was very clean! However we had to purchase soap for the dishwasher and there were no extra trash bags. Otherwise the cabin was stocked fairly well.
Property manager was very extremely responsive and helpful!!!
The only reason I gave the cabin 4 out of 5 stars was because there is no A/C. We did not realize there was no A/C when we booked. The cabin was over 80 degrees inside when we arrived and took quite a while to cool off once we opened all doors and windows. This wouldn't have been a huge deal but we had a young toddler in the group that needed to nap and went to bed early. The "kids" room was the hardest to cool as it was on the west side of the cabin. It was very hot for him. If we had known there was no A/C we would have brought a fan for him.
I would rent again!

We brought 6 friends who have never been in the Ruidoso area to ride our atv's/utv's. The cabin made us feel at home when we first walked in the door. After a long day of riding in the National forest the hot tub was a real treat. We brought corn to feed the dear and Patty told us about one that would take apple slices from your mouth. We found that there were 3 that would walk up to you and take apples from your hand. I was actually able to scratch one doe on her head and ears. The wild horses passed by as well.
With two pickups and two 16' trailers, parking was excellent! We parked them in the front so we could see all the deer come in the backyard. Patty was quick to answer any questions we had. We only had one major issue and that was having to leave. We will definitely choose Deer Country again!
2.5
Rented this property for my birthday, it had everything we could have ever needed. With 12 adults there was still room for more, the cabin has a great layout, and the hot tub was a relaxing touch. The local contact was incredible, keeping in great contact with us. Couldn't be happier.
2.5
The cabin was very clean and essentials were all available. We were worried about having enough pots and pans for a Thanksgiving dinner but all was available. Ms. Patty is a sweet lady and available to answer any questions. We enjoyed hiking and some of the shopping. This is our third visit and look forward to our next.
