Historic Andersonville Coach House.
About this house rental
Historic Coach House in the quaint Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago. Walking distance to Hollywood Beach, coffee shops, restaurants and shopping in Andersonville and Edgewater. Short train, taxi or bus ride to Wrigley Field. Walking distance to red line train for quick access to downtown. This Historic Andersonville Coach House is loaded with character inside and out. We have kept much of the original furnishings and decorations to maintain a quaint feeling. Relax in the spacious living room or enjoy a meal in the dining room / kitchen. On sunny days, relax with a coffee in the side yard seating area. As you will notice, the bathroom is small, so we have set up the large laundry room with a mirror and power strip for a comfortable spot to get ready for the day. Also, there is a full size front-loading washer and dryer, with steam settings to freshen up your clothes.

I really enjoyed the location and the ability to park close to the unit. However, the unit was not as clean as I would’ve liked. There was a lot of dust, and the doors floors were not cleaned well. The bathtub needed a really good bleaching and brushing and going over as the grout was dirty enough that I did not even want to use the tub or shower. I do not mine old charming any of those things but I do not want to stay in other peoples dirt

I have given a lot of 5 star reviews because the criteria was met. This is the one place I would look to stay in again. It is a charming historical place with great vibes.

This was just as we expected. Charming property in a great neighborhood with the ability to walk to everything. It was the prefect "Nana pad" while in Chicago with my two grand girls.

We were looking for a place close to our son and this property fit the bill. Spacious living room & kitchen, but the bathroom was very small. Overall a pleasant stay.

Stayed for a long weekend with friends and had a lovely time in this home. Andersonville is a beautiful town - lots of cafe's all within walking distance. The place was perfect for the 3 of us and the owner thought of most everything we would need to enjoy our stay. Grocery store is within walking distance.

Lovely little house in a great area
We had a great time in this lovely house, with some really interesting furnishings and touches. The location is fantastic - we didn't have a car but it was an easy few minutes to the supermarket or the train for a quick 20 minutes or so journey to downtown Chicago. It was also less than 10 minutes to a great lakeside beach, so practical just to walk across and swim. It is an older house but the amenities are modern and practical - the air conditioning coped fine with the heatwave and got the house cool within minutes on our return each day. We would definitely recommend!

Grad weekend oasis
We had a lovely stay at the Coach House. Good space for a home base for my husband, myself, our daughter, and my step-mother when we visited for a long weekend for our son's college graduation. Unique spot in a cool neighborhood - easy walking for groceries, public transit, and the lake (where we loved walking and running along the beautiful shore). The historic space is filled with treasures and books and features a sweet courtyard. The hosts were a pleasure to deal with.

Lovely place in perfect location!
As former Chicagoans, we love Andersonville and this property was everything we needed! The house is clean, fully-stocked, and very cozy. We felt comfortable bringing our toddler and enjoyed a fantastic playground at a school (Pierce) a few blocks away. We brought along a tension baby-gate for the top of the stairs and felt perfectly safe.
Would love to stay again when we are back in town!

The coach house was a perfect place for a getaway with friends! My partner and I stayed with another couple for Halloween weekend. It was the absolute best place to stay. We were easily able to walk to everything, coffee shops, great restaurants, and our concert at the Aragon Ballroom. It was really nice to see the neighborhood come to life for Halloween too. Lots of fun porch decorations, kiddos and neighbors trick or treating. We had plenty of room with the 4 of us. We will definitely try to stay again next time we are in town!

Great place
We enjoyed our stay the neighborhood was terrific walking distance to everything you need, would definitely stay here again. Too bad the city taxes are so high though, which is not the owners fault at all.

As a former Chicago resident this was the perfect nostalgic getaway tucked into one of the best neighborhoods on the North Side. Parking was no problem, and getting over to Lake Shore Drive or over to Andersonville and south on Clark was easy peasy.
Nearby don't miss Ethiopian Diamond, the shops in Andersonville including Women and Children First bookstore and Wooly Mammoth curiosity shop, Ann Sather, and Lincoln Square a little further west.
The rental itself has a great history. I could've stayed for a month inside reading poetry from the library. Casual, quiet, and comfortable for the four of us. Bathroom and kitchen were well accompanied, and there is even a laundry upstairs.
I honestly can't wait to book again.

New to this
This was our very first rental, so we don't have yardstick upon which to measure. We spent very little time at the property, basically only slept there, but house had supplies that would be helpful to others who were actually cooking and staying there, like condiments, food wrap, etc. and a wide selection of books.

Summer Vacation in Chicago!
This rental is in a great location in north Chicago. It’s situated in a beautiful neighborhood with easy access to the beaches of Lake Michigan, as well as the “L” for trips to Wrigley and the Loop. Our family of five stayed over a week and enjoyed many local walks/runs, parks, churches and businesses. The neighbors are so friendly and even invited us to attend a community international food festival. The rental included toiletries and all necessities needed. It’s a gem!

Perfect location.
The property was perfect for relatives from all over the US gathering for a cousin’s memorial service. Living and bedroom areas were comfy. The single bathroom was no issue for 4 adults. Everything was neat and clean, and thoughtfully appointed with everyday necessities. The courtyard area was a plus! Best of all you can walk to numerous restaurants and grocery store. We would stay again!

We had a great time in Chicago!
The House was lovely and decorated nicely. We were surprised there wasn’t central air conditioning and only 2 window units in the upstairs bedrooms to cool the house. Fans were plenty and we managed to stay cool enough. We enjoyed the courtyard, but it could stand to have weeds pulled and flower pots planted. It has so much potential. The neighbors were very friendly, the neighborhood was amazing. Only a 15 minute Uber to the downtown Chicago. I will book the house again when I return. Owner Christina was very accommodating and a gracious host.
