About this house rental
Located on a famously pretty village street, a short walk to town but in a quiet neighborhood. Restored from top to bottom, this 4 bedroom, 3 bath Victorian farmhouse sits on the street that runs along the east side of Camden Harbor. It's a scenic 5 minute walk along the head of the harbor to town, the park, library and amphitheater, shops, restaurants, windjammer sailing and a public beach. One block the other way down the street is the public landing, where you can launch a boat or just admire the view of the outer harbor and Penobscot Bay.
The house is light and spacious, simply furnished with an eclectic mix of comfortable antiques and contemporary furnishings. There is plenty of space to gather together or have some privacy. Very well suited to multigenerational groups. Securely fenced back yard for your dog . Large airy living room with 2 french doors opening to a back porch ideal for reading or conversation. Gas fireplace for chilly evenings. Outdoor covered porch seating and picnic table in the yard. Open flow from kitchen to dining room, separate family room/library. Downstairs bedroom with bath. Upstairs primary bedroom with en suite bath; soak in the claw foot tub with a view of Mt. Battie. 2 Additional bedrooms, another full bath and a laundry room also upstairs.
Well behaved dogs can enjoy the fenced backyard. Ample off-street parking and a 2 car garage. Relaxed, comfortable in-town Maine coastal summer life at its best-- 'the way life should be.'

Amazing location in Camden with plenty of space, cozy interiors, and a responsive host. Perfect for families and dogs. Great for exploring the area and relaxing on the covered porch or in the spacious yard.

Joanne was amazing to rent from and highly responsive - she wasn’t kidding when she said the home should have everything you need, and most of what you forgot.
The home is quaint with individuality in each room, ideally located walking distance from town with gorgeous views of the harbor. Another perk is the Lyman free harbor taxi is located across the street, and be sure to pop in at the Whistling Whale coffee shop, the owner has stories to share.
The layout of the downstairs provides plenty of room to spread out, especially for those families whose members may need an occasional “break”. Wonderful back yard for relaxing and nice neighbors. A Mount Battie access point is to the west after you cross over the main road.
We most definitely hope to this home again.

We absolutely loved our stay, the property and Camden. We highly recommend this property and we hope to be able to stay again,

Our hostess Joanne was extremely thoughtful. The house had everything we needed to relax, cook, socialize with our family, or just read in a quiet corner. The bedrooms were spread out enough so that the baby did not wake the entire family. We loved the covered porch out back. The location was perfect for all our activities.

Joanne's listing is in the PERFECT Camden location. 1/2 mile walk to downtown Camden around the harbor.
The home is exactly as it appears in the listing and there is plenty of room for everyone.
And Joanne was an awesome host. When we had a issue the first couple of days she made sure that is was remidied within the day. She was VERY responsive. My only wish was that there would have been a gas grill...but that is just nit picking. Great stay and if we get back to Camden we would stay there again for sure.

The house truly felt like home. It had all the creature comforts of home (some of which we actually even have in our own home!). The fireplace was nice to take the chill off as well. There was enough space for everyone to spread out and do their own thing, or to hang together and watch a movie. The yard was great for our pup, too! The covered back porch was so nice to sit out on during the few rainy days we had. The location can't be beat. It was such an easy walk in to town (maybe 8 minutes), and also very easy to launch kayaks at the town launch just a block away. Will definitely keep this one in mind for future visits to Camden!

This house offered the best of all worlds. The house itself was wonderful, lots of space and very well stocked with everything you would expect and more. There were lots of different cozy spaces throughout the house to hang out or work (2 living spaces, kitchen/dining area, covered porch, yard seating) along with the 4 large bedrooms. The fully fenced in yard was amazing, and our dog had a fantastic time playing fetch and lounging in the sun. It is located on a quiet residential street just a minute walk from the marina that has a coffee shop, a restaurant, and a distillery. It was just 5-10 minute walk from the core of downtown. Joanne was very responsive and easy to correspond with, and she provided plenty of great recommendations for the area. She made if feel like we were family members staying at her house rather than strangers. We're already talking about coming back for another stay!

This property was excellent. The house was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for 6 adults to move about and have time as a group and individually in the house. One of the very best aspects is that this house has an ideal location. right at the Camden harbor (less than a 10 minute walk to downtown). We greatly enjoyed our visit. the owner/manager of the property was really very cordial and helpful. Overall this was one of the best places I have stayed and I would highly recommend it.

This property is as perfect as all of the other reviewers have said! We had 2 couples staying for the week, with another couple camping nearby. We used this home as our base as we explored the wider area. Camden is picturesque, and this home is cozy and clean with fun, eclectic decor and everything we needed. Joanne was wonderful to work with before and during our stay. I would return in a heartbeat!

THIS PROPERTY IS WELL LOCATED IN CAMDEN. NICE RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. VERY CLEAN AND FULLY7 STOCKED. THE OWNER IS VERY GOOD WITH COMMUNICATION AND THOUGHTFUL. WE WILL ABSOLUTELY BE GOING BACK. GREAT YARD IF YOU HAVE A DOG...FULLY FENCED IN.

First and foremost, the location is amazing. A 7 minute walk from the center of Camden. Across the street from the harbor. Around the corner (2 minute walk) from a couple waterfront restaurants. Located on a quiet street. It was exactly what we wanted.
In the back of the house, there is a beautiful covered porch and a great fenced in backyard with privacy. Great for a dog and little kids. You look onto a couple beautiful weeping willows that sway in the wind.
Interior is very clean and as described. 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom downstairs. 2 bedrooms have in window AC units. Downstairs has a sitting room, kitchen, dining area and living room in addition to the downstairs bedroom.
Host is amazing. Anything we needed, she was quick to respond. Even coordinated a babysitter for us one night!

Camden Harbor
It was a well appointed house in a great location…..walking distance to harbor, shops, and restaurants. Great place to stay with your dog. Owner provided great recommendations for food especially the lobster.

The house is a very short walk to downtown Camden as advertised.
The only thing we missed was a TV in the bedroom. We like to unwind at the end of the day by watching a little TV in bed.

Content in Camden
Our group had a delightful experience with this Camden Harbor home. The house itself is spacious, with multiple common areas, a decent-sized kitchen and dining area, and bedrooms with ample space to sleep and store luggage. The backyard is large and fully fenced, with no gaps, which was important for my squirrel-obsessed beagle. The neighborhood is quiet, but parking on the street can get pretty full, so we were grateful to have use of the sizable driveway. It was amazing to be so close to the harbor and town; it is truly walkable. Most days consisted of a walk and exploring our surroundings. There is plenty to do in town and short drives took us on other mini adventures. Knowing we had access to a lovely home in the center of all we planned to do was comforting. Throughout the rental experience, I interacted with Joanne through email; she proved to be charming, communicative, and kind. We felt quite welcomed to use her home, and our group was impressed with all the kitchen offered. We stayed a week. During that time, we had two rainy days and - on those days especially - the home itself was an amusement; there is an abundant supply of books and loads of fascinating pictures; it is like a mini library and museum rolled into one! We also watched some movies in the eclectic and cosy front room. This home made our first visit to Maine fun. We would definitely be interested in renting this home again in future.

Excellent stay for family and walkable to everything
Joanne’s place was perfect for our family of seven adults and three dogs. Great, fenced in yard, fully stocked kitchen and enough bathrooms for everyone. We were also pleased to be able to walk everywhere nearby, including town and to some nearby hiking trails. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay! The location was quiet and close to town so we could walk in for anything. The backyard was perfect place for my kids to play and run around. The neighbors were very welcoming and kind and Joanne was a pleasure and very responsive. Really hope we can come back again!

Wonderful and charming home!
This is the second time we have stayed at this house as we enjoyed it so much the first time! It is easy walking distance to downtown and close to so other many fun things. We had 3 generations in the house and it was perfect. My parents had a main floor bedroom with a full bath. We had a primary bedroom upstairs with private bathroom. The kids each had their own room and shared a full bath. Perfect for everyone! Enjoyed coffee on the porch in the morning....love listening to all the birds and the beautiful view. Definitely recommend this house!

Amazing Property - Great Location
Joanne's house in Camden was a wonderful place to spend a week with family in Maine. It was in a great location in a beautiful neighborhood, within an easy walk to downtown Camden and a block from the water; and Camden is centrally located to enjoy trips up and down the coast to Belfast, Rockland/Rockport, Lake St. George and all that Maine has to offer. We enjoyed walks around the neighborhood and into town to grab dinner or visit the shops. Her home was so comfortable and homey with plenty of room for our group of eight to spread out. We spent most mornings and evenings out on the back porch and the fenced in backyard was perfect for our dogs. Joanne's house had all the things and supplies you could ask for or need in a home away from home - plenty of towels and bedding, blankets for the chilly nights, pots and pans for cooking meals, and books and games - plus great internet and wifi which was important for the teens and twenty somethings in our group! Joanne was wonderful to deal with and could not have been more accommodating. We love Maine and cannot wait to visit again and would definitely stay at Joanne's again. It was perfect for us. Thanks so much Joanne for your warm hospitality!!

Perfect house - perfect location
Joanne was wonderful to deal with and could not have been more accommodating We loved the beautiful back yard, and our German shepherd did too! House was spacious, bathrooms clean, lots of towels and extra bedding. We walked to the waterfront every night for delicious seafood dinners. Went on a schooner, went up Mount Battie for an amazing view. Drove to Rockland and Rockport to explore. Just a perfect Maine vacation. Thank you Joanne. We will be back.

Perfect vacation home in Camden!
The house was just perfect for our immediate and extended family! The location is absolutely perfect, on a quiet street, but right around the corner from the water and the shops. The teens in our group loved the freedom of easily walking into town. I have to add that the owner 8s incredibly responsive to any concerns or questions. A+!!

Charm, comfort and convenience in Camden
This home filled our every need during our stay in Camden. The house was stocked with every cooking utensil and appliance you could possibly need, lots of room to spread out in, comfortable beds, very clean, and a convenient location so walking to the downtown and restaurants was very easy. We based here and took day trips up and down the coast. There is a downstairs bedroom and bath for anyone that can't manage the stairs as well as 3 bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs. We enjoyed every minute of our visit and would go back in a heartbeat.

This is a great property. Walkable to town, but off the beaten path to avoid any crowds during the day. A great backyard and plenty of space inside. Highly recommended.

Beautiful property, walk to town, water and mountains.
We positively love this house. It's location is perfect - walk to town for dinner every evening, walk to the trailhead for Mount Battie, and see the water at the end of the street during your morning run. The house itself is well-appointed and comfortable. It feels like home. Would stay all summer if I could.

Perfect spot !
There was 3 generations of family ( 8 people ) including 3 dogs with us for a week , the layout of this cottage makes it seem much bigger with room enough that everyone had there own personal space when needed . My favorite was having the back patio nook for coffee in the morning and wine at night . The location was perfect for walking into town every day or venturing not so far for events such as whale watching .
You can get lost in the decor of this cottage with it's amazing art everywhere you look .
The only reason I gave 4* is that the cottage had 1/3 roll of paper towel left and no other to be found , the toilet tissue had one roll in each bathroom upstairs ( 1 ply ) with almost none left on roll from previous renters ( with 8 people ) we ran out just before leaving and could not use the restroom . If feel for the price maybe there could be 2 full rolls per bath ESPECIALLY if it's a 1 ply . I honestly don't feel anyone would take toilet tissue . This certainly would never discourage us from returning , we would just bring some the next time .
All in all my family had a wonderful time with memories that will last a lifetime ☺️

34 Sea St provided everything we needed for a successful business retreat and more. Clean, inviting and extremely comfortable, our guest felt completely at ease. Add the quick walk to town to experience the local cuisine, this has been one trip to Camden, Maine not easily topped!

Terrific Home - Perfect Location - Wonderful Owner
My sister-in-law and I were travelling from Maryland to Camden Maine with two dogs. We had not been to Camden before and we were totally delighted with this quaint lovely town. When we arrived to the house, the owner had left us a lovely gift bag, fresh flowers on the dining table and several suggestions on where to eat and places to visit. The home was charming, spotlessly clean and had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen was fully equipped and the many downstairs rooms were well decorated and light and breezy. There is a beautiful very large living room with plenty of seating to enjoy cards, puzzles, games, reading or just talking. The dining room is cozy and has a view of the gorgeous gardens and manicured lawns out back. Two giant weeping willows in the yard behind the house together with beautiful flower beds create such a lovely vista to enjoy with your coffee on the back deck or dining table, that it is hard to break away and start the day. The yard was totally fenced so we had no worries with the dogs - they loved it. Another great feature was a queen bedroom downstairs as well as plenty more upstairs. The bedrooms were large and comfortable, and again, spotlessly clean. The laundry room was upstairs and very convenient. The home is on a street very close to the town center and directly across from the harbor with beautiful sailboats and working lobster boats. We walked everyday to the town and to the public dock just a few yards down the street. A fun and casual restaurant is down the street as well and the views and food are great. Camden is a charming town with so much to offer and is quintessential Maine with the harbor views and beautiful open green lawns with benches overlooking the water, great shops and restaurants. We took a schooner cruise which was delightful and we ate very fresh lobster, haddock and clams almost every day! We explored the neighboring towns and the art museums and hiked a bit in the nearby park. We will definitely be returning to this home and this area - both of which are true gems in Maine!

Great House!
This review is well over due, we spent 3 weeks at 34 sea St last Summer with our 2 Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs and had a great time. Being so close to town was a plus and the owner of the house could not of been nicer. We frequent Camden often, this was our first experience at renting a house. Couldn't of asked for more.
Thanks Joanne

What a treasure...34 Sea St is the most Welcoming rental I have ever stayed in !! And Joanne is such an amazing and thoughtful owner !! Every possible need for your visit has been thought of and the house is so comfortable and convenient. There are several different sitting areas as well as a lovely outdoor covered porch. The bedrooms are all spacious and had exceptional quality bedding. And the kitchen was better stocked than my own !
The furnishing are a eclectic mix of beautiful antique pieces and comfy sofas and chairs, along with an amazing collection of artwork.
Plus, you are just a very short walk away from the beautiful Camden Harbor, shops and restaurants!
If you get in your car you can be at Camden Hills State Park, Megunticook Lake or the beach in less than 10 minutes!!

perfect vacation home for multi-generation family
We were thrilled with our week at Joanne's lovely home on Sea Street. Yes the house is clean, comfortable, and convenient but it also charming and filled with personality! All the bedrooms and sitting rooms are spacious and the kitchen well maintained and well-fitted. The house has many spaces so that even 6-8 people can find a quiet spot to read and relax. For those with well-behaved dogs, the ample fenced-in backyard is a godsend. Joanne has simply thought of everything to make her home welcoming to others. We are already looking forward to a return visit next summer.

A Warm and Inviting Home
Joanne's house is truly a turnkey home. One immediately feels like a welcome guest rather than a traveler. Beautifully decorated, filled with books and artwork, it's a place we've returned to many times. I believe this was our fifth stay over the years. We love it because we are a group of four, and the location allows you an easy and visually beautiful walk to town, so each of us can go separately or together. Our cars barely leave the driveway! It's also a great kitchen for cooking, as our group loves to open a bottle of wine and cook a lovely dinner. We will continue to return to Sea Street - our favorite vacation!

Most comfortable and ideally located house
The last few years I've rented many houses for family vacations. Most of them are quite nice, but never had one like the Sea Street house. It's perfectly situated near the harbor, 5 minute walk and y are in the center of the town. Yet at the same time it is so quiet, with your own spacious fenced in back yard. The kitchen has everything you will ever need, ranging from spices to tools, to nice utensils and wine glasses. To top it off, Joanne is so knowledgeable about everything. We got recommendations for lobster places, oysters, restaurants, bakeries, and even wines. There is a high chance we would return to Camden and I'd definitely stay here again.

Wonderful, perfect home for our vacation!
We absolutely loved the Sea Street home! It has everything you could possibly need and really feels so cozy and comfortable. My husband and I visited with our two children (ages 2 years and 8 months old) as well as my brother (age 30) and my parents. The layout of this home was just perfect for our family. My parents were able to enjoy the first floor bedroom to themselves while all of the "kids" were on the 2nd floor. We also loved the backyard, especially for our toddler. We also used Midcoast Family Rentals for a crib and two buckets of toys, which was wonderful! Thank you, Joanne, for accommodating us last minute! We hope to be able to stay at your home again in the future! Highly recommend this property!!!

The Perfect Place
We've just finished our 3rd multi-week stay at Joanne's wonderful home. It is like taking a vacation at your favorite Aunt's...assuming that your Aunt had the place meticulously cleaned before your arrival, emptied all of the closets and drawers so that you've got more than enough room to store your "stuff", provided a superbly equipped kitchen, and left all the beds made for you! The house is comfortably and eclectically furnished and if the diverse art collection doesn’t delight you, surely the shelves full of wonderful books will. Its comfort level is so superior to most of the “vacation cottages” that we’ve rented over the last 20 years or so that it seems unfair to even put them in the same category as this delightful place.
The house is sponge-like in its ability to comfortably hold varying numbers of guests; over the years we’ve had as many as 3 dogs and 3 couples in residence, and we all had plenty of space to do our own thing or gather together to sit and tell tales. The house is also very comfortable when just the two of us were in residence with 2 dogs underfoot. Somehow we never felt like we were either squeezed in a space to small or rattling around in a space too large … the magic of a house with ‘good bones’.
We all spent hours out in the fenced yard and on the covered porch. No matter the time of day you could always find both sun and shade enough to satisfy everyone, and if you needed to be inside, there was always a cross breeze to remind you that you were in Maine, and on vacation…even if you were working on the computer!
Add to all of this a perfect placement on a quiet street that is just a few minutes’ walk from Harbor Park, the library (where something interesting is always happening), and Main Street. If you like boats, you’ll be fascinated by the ever changing procession of sail boats and power boats that visit or home port in Camden’s harbor. And, of course, all that Mid-Coast Maine has to offer is just out your door. There’s great food, music, art, architecture, crafts and fun just waiting to be discovered. Belfast, Searsport, Rockland, and Rockport are just a few of the places worth exploring if you are able to pull yourself away from Camden’s delights. And while you are out exploring, make sure that you get to at least one of the many Farmer’s Market in the area…you’ll be astonished at what you’ll find there!
I honestly can't imagine a nicer place to spend some time.
