About this house rental
Great Waterview location on Chincoteague Island overlooking the
Assateague Channel, the lighthouse and the marsh where the wild
ponies graze. Three large bedrooms and 2 baths.
Only 5 minutes to the beach or 3 minutes to town.
The bedding situation is as follows:
-Downstairs bedroom: queen
-Upstairs rear bedroom: queen
-Upstairs front bedroom: doublefull plus a set of twin bunks
-Additional queen futon in the downstairs greatroom.

Stayed just one night to be in a good location to walk to pony crossing vantage point. This worked perfectly. Less than a mile to the park and then another relatively short hike to spot where horses come ashore. The host granted us a delay in checkout so we could clean ourselves off and change before packing up and leaving. A little misunderstanding at checkin but host was VERY quick at settling the issue and was generous in giving us a refund for a service we had agreed to. Lighthouse view was wonderful. Great place to stay in Chincoteague

My husband and I try to get to Chincoteague once each year in the winter. It is wonderfully quiet, and bird watching is phenomenal as the migrating snow geese and tundra swans come back.
The house is showing its age and could use some love, but it had everything we needed for the weekend. It was pretty cold, and the heating was very efficient. We also cooked all our meals there, and everything worked well. If you do the same, be sure to check out Gary Howard Seafood. There is nothing like fresh-caught tuna!
We were a little surprised to find the house located across the street from the channel given its name ("the Waterside") but that is on us for not reading the details.
Jeff was very responsive and clearly wanted to ensure we had a great experience there. Kate, his on-island assistant, was also responsive, and gave us some good ideas on where we could watch the World Cup outside of our house. The house has strong, reliable wi-fi, which we needed for work.

Makes a great home base for a busy vacation
Plenty of room for my small family, my brother and his wife and infants, and my sister and her husband. Nice place, with a pretty view of the light house (kids loved watching it at night!) Close to all the activities we wanted to do.

This property has great views and accommodations. The screened in porch is great and essential with the mosquitos on the island. The host contacted me upon arrival to make sure everything was ok. All in all, it is a great place to stay and have stayed at several times.

Last minute rental for a 3 day trip after a 30 uear break!Ready early, easy self check in. No need for propertt.manager once we were there. Everything we needed was there. Plenty of seating.

Beach house on stilts.
The house was quaint with a cottage like feel . It was a bit run down but after chatting with the owner he was very amenable to make some suggested improvements. It comfortably slept 8. There is also a futon that would be suitable for kids to sleep on. We really loved the view of the lighthouse and seeing it lit at night from the screened in porch. It was not too far to walk to town and definitely well situated. A park with a boat ramp, bar b q and playground was very close. Overall a great stay.

Great family vacation with the dogs
It was so nice to find a place that allowed us to take our dogs. The house was accurate to the description, and had everything we needed and was comfortable. The screened in porch is awesome and we spend a lot of time out there. While other parts of the island had a lot of mosquitoes, we didn't have a problem at the house at all. We also accidently locked ourselves out of the house and Jeff immediately answered my call to help us get back in! Heads up that sheets and towels are not included. Also the house has a nice yard, but did not appear to have direct access to the water or any of the docks across the street (they all seemed to be private property).

Best family vacation so far.
This was the first time since my daughter and son were small children that I have been able to take them on a family vacation. It made it extra special because all 3 of my grandchildren were also with us. The island is beautiful and peaceful. The property was clean, and large enough for all of us. We had a fantastic time.

Perfect place for a “workcation” and fun
I was looking for a place to work from new four walls and this house was perfect. I spent my days on the screened porch working and evenings walking on the beach. A wonderful peaceful location.

Beach Weekend
Wonderful weekend beach house. Very easy to get to the beach (10min tops) and down the street from the marina and bike rentals. Thoroughly enjoyed the view and the screened in porch! We talk about coming back to chincoteague next year!

Good View, Good Location
Nice, quiet (during our stay) place. Great screened-in porch. Bugs were not an issue during our stay and we lucked out by missing Hurricane Florence. A grill would be nice but one can be rented not far down the road for a minimal price. Could also use a steamer for crabs, clams, etc.
We had 4 adults staying most of the time with a maximum of 6 adults for a few days. This was comfortable, not quite sure it would be the same with more bodies. We had some rather large guests that used the outside shower and that worked out great.
Didn't miss WiFi at all! Good place for pets.
We would highly recommend this rental.

A Thanksgiving Holiday in an Island House
Our family (3 generations, nine people) found this summer cottage perfect, allowing us to come together in order to celebrate Thanksgiving. It is not a "fancy" place, but the kitchen is well out-fitted, the laundry quite serviceable, the bathrooms clean and well-functioning, and the bedrooms comfortable. Jeffrey, the owner, was very responsive when we had an issue with the heat, and this was remedied immediately.
The style is "shabby chic", tending just a bit more to the shabby side, but there are lovely, new bamboo floors in the living room, and overall, it is very clean. There was no WiFi, causing some of us to experience "withdrawal", but this was a welcome change in that it meant we were together more, talking, sharing, and playing games. The view is lovely.

Great Rental that Accepts Pets
This was one of the few rentals that accepted dogs when I was searching for a property to rent. That was a HUGE plus for me as I have a 6 month old puppy who was not ready for the kennel yet. The owner was awesome and very accommodating- great communicator. All in all - the house was fine for a pet rental property. Here are my honest pro's and con's.
Pro's: Accepts pets, view of light house, lots of parking, comfortable living room, big dining table, big yard, very easy rental process, cleaner than most pet rental properties and the beds were not full of pet hair - big plus! Also screened in front porch offered great protection from the famous Chincoteauge mosquitoes!
Con's: very small showers, small kitchen- could use some updates pots and pans, beds were not comfortable at all - very low end mattresses upstairs- did not make for a great nights sleep, no ice maker
All in all- I have no reservations recommending this property to other pet owners looking for a rental.

Great house!
We had a wonderful week! Chincoteague is beautiful, with lots of activities for a family with kids. The house was great, with a spectacular view of the channel and lighthouse from the screened-in front porch. Light and airy living room and ample sleeping space. It was a great location, so close to the beach and town that we were able to bike around the island to everywhere we wanted to go.

We came for a couples weekend. The house is in a great location, near the beach and town. There's a beautiful view from the porch, and luckily we had great weather! Very quiet and restful area. Also good for larger groups, since there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The owner was very accommodating, and the big fridge, dryer, and TV all came in handy for our stay. We loved it, as did our dog!

This house is lovely! It's in a great location, close to the beach and the town center. It has an absolutely fantastic view of the lighthouse which you can enjoy from the porch while listening to the breeze, as well as some nice amenities (e.g. big fridge, a TV, washer/dryer). Our dog loved it as well :) The house is a nice size so it's great for groups of 4+ too. Everything was tidy upon arrival and the owners were accommodating. Would definitely come back!

Charming Chincoteague!
We were totally charmed by the island atmosphere at Chincoteague, where we were quickly told we were now on "island time". The location of the Waterside is great, the neighborhood was friendly and quiet. The house is large and bright with lots of room for our 6 adults. The central air conditioning was much appreciated in the 105 degree heat! It is a relaxed, beachy atmosphere, not what I would call luxurious- but we didn't pay luxury prices either! Some small areas could use attention. There was no gas grill when we arrived as was mentioned in the description. Over all we had a great time, and there is plenty for all ages to enjoy on the island and in surrrounding communities.
