Stay in a beautiful, 3-bedroom cottage where you will enjoy gorgeous sunsets from your deck, overlooking the Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve. You will also see and hear the waves from the ocean and wildlife from the marsh. The home is just steps away from the public access to beautiful Wells Beach.
Picture your family enjoying this spacious home with high ceilings, large windows, an open balcony and a beautiful view of the marsh. Room for the whole family with a full kitchen, dining and two living areas as well as 2 full bathrooms. Wind-down comfortably with 2 queen-sized bedrooms, 1 full-sized bedroom and a sleeper sofa. To make it easier for those traveling with infants, we have a Pack & Play stored behind a chair in Bedroom 1 and a high chair available so you don't need to pack those bulky items. On-site laundry (though the washer is on the small side), outdoor shower, parking for 3 vehicles, multiple enchanting outdoor living areas, and beach toys are all extra amenities you will enjoy with the cottage rental.

Host the ideal family vacation in this comfortable cottage with room for the family to spread out and enjoy! Three bedrooms offer space to relax in queen and full size beds. Top floor offers cathedral ceilings with loft-style bedroom with spectacular views of the ocean and marsh. Middle floor has kitchen, full bath, dining area for 6, workspace, living area, and a wrap around porch. First floor holds two bedrooms, full bath, laundry, second living space, and two additional outdoor seating areas.
As an added bonus, all linens and towels are provided for your stay.
Outside, escape reality with your choice of 4 separate sitting areas - 2 on the top deck, and two patios on the ground level. One patio is fenced in for extra security and privacy. The property also has deeded access to the marsh, so bring your own canoes, kayaks and paddle boards to explore the Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve.

The Good:
Wells Beach itself is nice - family friendly, calm waves, clean sand. Locals are friendly.
The rental house was reasonably clean and is a few minute walk away from the beach.
The Bad:
The rental house has absolutely no "spectacular views of the ocean" nor does it have "3 vehicle parking" as claimed in listing at the time of this writing. Marsh view only, and two cars max parking.
There are no sidewalks and many roadside obstructions that make walking anywhere unpleasant at best, and somewhat hazardous at worst.
Bedroom doors have no locks so bring your own lock if privacy is important to you. We resorted to wedging a broomstick between the bedframe and door.
The retrofitted spiral staircase, while entertaining for the first hour or two, is located in close proximity to the entrance door and this makes for a very cumbersome layout... watch your head when entering or exiting the house.
The Ugly:
The spiral stairs are inherently dangerous. Not only were a dozen bolts missing and numerous hand rail supports disconnectd, but the riser of every step is made of sharp metal that can catch the heel of feet while descending the stairs. My husband, and two of my children sustained lacerations from the spiral staircase. One of these injuries was quite severe removing a large flap of skin.
To make matters worse, the property owner did not seem too concerned and was slow to respond to messages. Typical response time was several days.

My husband and I and two other couples had a wonderful week at the house. It took just a minute or two to walk to the beach just across the road. We enjoyed the common indoor and varied outdoor gathering spaces that the house offered. Further, the kitchen was well-stocked with most everything we needed, and there was an accurately-depicted well-worn assortment of beach chairs and toys. While the two first-floor bedroom mattresses should be and some of the furniture coverings could use an update (replacement/recovering), we thoroughly enjoyed the space and our time there.

It would be important to respect this rental because the house is so tastefully furnished and has everything you would ever need and more. All sorts of outdoor spaces have been created where one can relax or have a bite and it was a pleasure to open the sliding doors in the morning and greet the sunlight over the boats on the marsh. The beach is right across the road, too. If you have children, they will find books and games and there is even a Pack 'N Play. This owner has thought of everything!

This home was the perfect location for our weekend stay in Wells Beach. We were in town to participate in the Maine Coast Marathon weekend and this was the perfect location for us. We were able to walk to the starting area and the beach is just a few steps across the street. The home comfortably accommodated 3 couples and we would recommend this property to others.

Our family of five really enjoyed spending the week here. The property was very clean and had all of the amenities we could want. This place is quite close to the beach, just a minute or two by foot. The interior spiral staircase would be a challenge for little ones or those with mobility issues. One detail that we really appreciated was that the screens to the two sliding doors and all of the windows in the house were in very good condition, so we were able to enjoy the ocean breeze all week without any bugs flying into the house. We look forward to staying here again next summer!

We had a great time visiting Wells Beach this year and had an amazing stay here. You are across the street from the beach, takes less than a minute to get to, it was so easy to go to and from, especially with 2 toddlers! You are also right on the beautiful marsh, so you get the best of both worlds. The wrap around deck is gorgeous and you have great views of the marsh. The kitchen was fully stocked and the appliances were in great condition. It was a perfect family trip, definitely recommend!

We loved our stay. The beach is steps away. The outdoor shower is great for rinsing off before going inside. The accommodations worked perfectly for my family of 4 plus aunts and uncles. The sunset views over the marsh are incredible. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need without having too much. Kris is wonderful if there’s anything you need during your stay. The home is very comfortable with 2 balconies offering nice views on the river-marsh... The walk to be main beach is only 150 steps. Neighbours were friendly and quiet. The owner is concerned about client satisfaction. I recommend it.

A cute little property just a few steps from Wells Beach. What more can I say?
Our trip had been delayed a year due to COVID restrictions but happy we could make our trip happen this year. The property owner has been awesome to deal with. Check in was excellent and check out too was really easy. Great views of the marsh. Easy parking. Lots of beach items stored up outside in case you forget anything. A ton of sitting areas from the second floor deck to all around the property on the ground level.

Perfect spot, great veiws
We recently stayed at Kris' beach house and had a wonderful stay with our 2 young children and 4 extended family members. The space had everything we needed without have too much of what we didn't. There was the perfect balance of home and retreat. Even when inside we alwasys felt like we were at the beach thanks to the great veiws of the marsh and the open design of the space. We also enjoyed the outdoor space of the house. With three patios spaces and two deck sitting areas, there was a space for everyone! Proximity to the beach walks was also great. Just a short 2 minute walk to two beach walk options. We will definitely be back!

This is our second year staying at Robert Lane in Wells, continently located right by public way #9, on a beautiful dead end road. The views of the marsh and sometimes even sounds of the waves create a great setting for your oceanside vacation. The house is beautifully decorated with great outdoor sports for eating, hanging out, playing both in and out of the sun. The outdoor shower adds a third shower option which was great for the younger kids and older a like! Comfy beds, well appointed kitchen, plenty of kids toys and beach items, roku so you can log in to your favorite streaming services, and I'm sure much much more that I am forgetting right now. We can't wait to come back next year! Thanks Kris!

Wonderful Beach Weekend
We stayed at this beautiful home for two nights with our children, son-in-law, and grandchildren. It was a perfect weekend and we had so much fun exploring Wells Beach which was just steps away. We could go back for the bathroom or grab snacks, and we were so lucky to see a full moon rise over the water on our last night . There are lots of seating available on the decks. One deck overlooks the River and it’s ever changing. If it was chilly there because of the wind (it was mid September) we went to the other deck. There was a beautiful area in the courtyard that we spent several hours in. It must be wonderful sitting there on warm summer nights. We enjoyed a take- out lobster dinner in the other outdoors dining area. The bedrooms were great with comfy beds and bedding. We all slept very well. The kitchen had everything we needed for our meals, and more! We didn’t need to bring oils and spices. The grandkids had fun finding books, puzzles, and coloring supplies. Kris had a large choice of beach chairs, toys, and something to pull them to the beach with! The house was equipped with everything and we just had the best time and can’t wait to make more family memories there next year! Kris was wonderful to work with and always answered questions promptly.

Super cute house in a fantastic location!
We had a great stay at this house! There is a super cute fenced in patio and then another patio on the water side, and a deck on the second floor. House was very clean and Kris (the owner) was very easy with which to communicate, and made sure to check in and see if we needed anything, and gave suggestions of things to do. The location is all fantastic- it’s a 1 minute walk to the beach. This house is a true gem and we would definitely stay again.
