About this villa rental

Spacious four bedroom Moorish-style villa built around a large shaded courtyard, lots of character, totally private large walled garden with magnificent pool, olive, orange trees, superb mountain views. A rural retreat. Orgiva is five minutes drive or a 15 to 20 minute walk. Bars, restaurants, health food shops, supermarkets. Nearby charming mountain "white" villages. Beach 30 minutes, Granada 45 minutes. Ideal for two families (two cots, two highchairs and a rugged, three-wheel pushchair are all provided) or a group of friends.
The house is not fitted with air conditioning as it is mainly built in the traditional style with very thick walls to keep the bedrooms cool, however there are fans in every room.
We do not have a barbecue due to the risk of fire in the summer. You are welcome to use disposable barbecues but please ensure they are safely put out when finished.

1) to make your holiday as safe as possible. We are doing the following:
- we will be doing a deep clean between stays and providing sanitizers.
- we're happy to provide a basic welcome pack.
- we'll send a supermarket link on line so you can order your food.
- we can also let you know about take away deliveries.
- the property is ideal in the circumstances because it is completely private, relatively rural and yet only 15 to 20 minutes walk into town. Guests have often said that they rarely needed to leave the villa because of the beautiful views, spacious garden and large pool.

2) We've altered our cancellation policy so that a booking can be cancelled within 30 days (rather than 60) with a full refund and within 14 days with a 50% refund. (Please see website).

I cannot fault the accuracy of the description of the property. The garden and pool are lovely ace the villa is very spacious ace clean inside. The outside tables had take clothes on them which required a wash down, but the garden was a wonderful place to relax in. Orgiva is quite a good base to see other places, but there are windy roads before you get anywhere! Overall, a good place to go and chill.

After we paid for this stay we were advised all used toilet paper should be put in a bag and not flushed down toilet. If we had been told this before we booked we would not have stayed there. There were ants all over the kitchen worktops every day. The house was not clean at all, main shower especially. When we arrived there was no hot water to the main area. We were expected to pay for the gas cylinders if the gas ran out, but fortunately the pool man came and sorted this out. The furniture was very poor and scruffy. The only good thing about the house was the garden and pool. The road to the house was a one track road and a nightmare if a car was coming in opposite direction, be prepared for damages to the car. We would definitely not stay here again, it was pretty dire.

Better than the photos, a serene and beautifully decorated home which felt just like the holiday we wanted. Great communication with the owner on every occasion (inc her very kind help when our toddler fell poorly and we needed medicine). Really over and above in every aspect. Would return very happily. Thank you!

The property is really spacious, beautiful and full of character. We were a three generation family group of 5 and it was perfect for us - a great base for exploring the Alpujarras and a really comfortable home for those who preferred a more leisurely holiday. The pool was especially appreciated.

Very lovely but perhaps not exactly what I was expecting, the house is very charismatic and specious and owners and staff on call to assist at a few moments notice, has many lovely features. I found ( in my personal opinion) that the garden wasn’t all that private and referring to some of the complaints I read in another review it is true that the Wi-Fi seems to struggle even though it was just me using it. The location of the house could hardly be described as the slums as someone else did , the house is well located for peace and quiet but it is true that the road is a bit tight at times and not well kept by the town’s council. There is plenty of cooking knives. The garden is beautiful but unfortunately not knowing exactly when the gardener is going to turn up doesn’t really let you relax , the gardener did turn up on the last day and left the garden the way I would have wanted to find it on arrival but still it is a pretty garden. Of all the properties I have rented in the past perhaps this one I wouldn’t choose again but you have to understand that this is due to very personal reasons and taste. A property I absolutely loved before had poor reviews by other previous users. Long story short, visit this property because I m sure a family with children might find it quite safe and disconnecting. A group of friends… don’t know. Orgiva surprisingly seems to have an issue with homeless and even drugs, I saw things I did not expect in Andalucía at all. Good, just not for me.

Una casa maravillosa, preciosa, en torno a un patio con entrada individual a las habitaciones. Con una magnífica y detallista decoración de objetos y muebles antiguos. El jardín es fascinante, bien cuidado, con una piscina estupenda, con tumbonas y hamacas para disfrutarlo. Tiene muchos rincones encantadores. Una acacia ornamental de flores amarillas y varios olivos centenarios, ofrecen sombra y dan mucho encanto al patio y jardín. La cocina y salon, estupendos. En general la casa está bien equipada. Solo una pega, no había ni un solo cuchillo para cocinar!! Espero que lo tengan en cuenta para recibir a los próximos inquilinos. La hora de salida a las 10 am es excesiva en España Por lo demás muy recomendable!!! Hemos disfrutado muchísimo de nuestra estancia

We had a lovely time in this pretty, Moorish style Alpujarran house on the outskirts of Orgiva. There is a fantastic view from the garden of nearby mountains. We enjoyed the pool even though it was early season and a bit chilly. We did have a number of warm days. We did quite a few walks in the Alpujarras; and Granada and the Alhambra were spectacular and within easy reach (but must be pre-booked weeks in advance).

Está un poco retirado del centro pero a su vez es un lugar tranquilo. Lo mejor de todo es el jardín y la piscina ( lo riegan y la limpian una vez a la semana). Nos ha coincidido la ha de calor de agosto y hemos echado en falta el aire acondicionado. Agradecemis de todos modos que hubiera suficientes ventiladores. Faltan cuchillos para cocinar y una salida de humos en la cocina Por lo demás es una casa con encanto. Transmite paz Muy recomendable para pasar unos días y conocer las Alpujarras

Belle propriété pour vivre un expérience des années 60 avec très petite TV 17' raccordée sur lecteur DVD de fonctionnement fantaisiste et sans wifi donc pas d'internet durant 13 jours de séjour, dans une charmante maison située en pleine nature auprès de rats et des chiens de garde qui aboient nuit et jour, maison envahie de mouches et de moustiques et accessible après avoir traversé le bidonville d'Orgiva. Personnellement je n'ai pas vraiment apprécié car je n'avais pas prévu tout cela à la lecture de l'annonce qui indique pourtant TV et wifi. Par contre, le jardin et la piscine sont supers. De plus une odeur nauséabonde vous accompagnera dans la salle principale et la cuisine , (mauvaise odeur genre pétrole d'origine inconnue pour nous). Cette odeur vous contraindra à aérer tout le journée sous peine d'avoir mal à la tête, mais par conséquent vous aurez laissé entrer la chaleur d'Andalousie dans la maison. Il faudra choisir. Nous avons choisi d'éviter l'odeur entêtante alors qu'il n'y a que de simples ventilateurs dans la maison. Les propriétaires trop loin de la propriété ne peuvent vous proposer que de faibles alternatives et ne règlent pas vos problèmes au cours de votre séjour. Ils m'ont simplement fait une ristourne de 100€. Vous aurez en prime la douce sensation d'avoir été grugés. Vous êtes donc prévenus. A vous de voir. Vu le montant de la location nous pouvions nous attendre à beaucoup mieux. L'expérience ne sera par renouvelée.

The villa is set in beautiful grounds with lots of fruit trees and a terrific swimming pool. The villa is equipped with everything you need to relax. Although the villa doesn`t have air-con the fans in all the rooms keep you cool at night. Access to the villa is on a tarmaced narrow road with parking next to the villa and additional parking in the grounds of La Florita opposite. The town of Orgiva is picturesque and has a multitude of shops, cafes and restaurants, plus an excellent medical centre thats open 24hrs. The town has adequate parking as its quite a walk. The only negative for us was the constant, loud, nocturnal dog barking from near by properties.

This is the perfect villa for a relaxing week in beautiful surroundings - tastefully rustic, thoughtfully furnished and decorated in attractive, muted colour schemes. And outside - a wonderful courtyard, verdant garden and pool where you can soak up the view of the mountains.

Enjoyed our stay very much, its a 20 minute walk to town but nice. We had a problem with the hot water but the repair guy was there within 30 min, so very attentive service. the house has lots of areas to sit and relax and pool sun soaked all day. I would happily return.
