Great location and facilities

Great location and tucked away so nice and quiet. Property had good facilities although we didn’t have time to make use of them all. This property would be great especially for those looking for a base in the area for several days or more.

We were unable to connect to the WiFi during our stay. Only a short trip so didn’t bother us too much at the time

The selling point after viewing the property with the caretaker was we were offered use of the kitchen and refrigerator

The view and location. Direct access to the hiking trail. Dock access.

No refrigerator or kitchenette. wifi was spotty.

Lovely hosts and lovely place

Thanks to our lovely host Lee, we stayed in the beautiful Casa Balam in a hummingbird filled garden beside the lake. Perfect small villa appartment for a couple, with cooking facilities. Early morning kayaks along the lake shore, clear water to swim in. We are definitely coming back.

Booking.com double booked us into Ruby hideaway! It was only Lee's kindness and flexibility in finding us another place that saved the day. Be warned! check your bookings with your hosts and dont trust Booking.com!!!!

Great place to relax and enjoy the view.

The host met me at the bus and came with me to the property on the boat. It was late and dark, so this was very thoughtful. The view is incredible and you can spend all day on the balcony. Small, interesting towns are a short walk away, and you can rent a kayak basically next door.

It could be cleaner. Maybe the sheets need a bleaching and a good feather dusting of the corners would be an idea.

Beautiful perch

Gorgeous little spot perched up on the hillside, surrounded by trees opening to a great view of Lake Atitlan. A balcony feels like an eagle's nest. Nice. Private and quiet most of the time. The bungalow is relatively new and well maintained. It's one airy room almost filled with a very comfortable king-size bed. Decent Wi-Fi. 10-15 minutes walk along the shore to a few restaurants. Property has its own boat landing to come and go with luggage.

No complaints.

Exceptional

This place is very cozy and located in a jungle-like garden with an awesome view of the lake. The bed is huge and together with the blankets one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever tried! The next Tienda where you can buy beer and snacks, as well as restaurants, are only 10 min walking distance away - and it’s a beautiful walk! The owner Lee is always answering to questions immediately and does literally everything to make your stay even better. Whatever you ask for, you’ll get it! He and his wife also offer some groceries to buy from their home because the little town Santa Cruz is around 30-40 min walk away which is super nice! The internet is amazing! The area is quiet and you will sleep like a baby! For bird fans: there are hummingbirds around the cabin all the time! One cabin has a kitchen, the other doesn’t but there you’ll find a big cooler box and get fresh ice from Lee! Coffee machine and free coffee is available as well! I really loved the stay, highly recommend this place and I’d definitely stay here again!

Nice and secluded spot, close to the Isla verde restaurant (where we had a phenomenal dinner), and the main town/port.

Nothing! I feel like the owners could easily add more cabins over time to maximize their profits, but it was really nice that there was no crowding the way it is now.

Shower was not cleaned and we didn’t get any info about the self check in. Luckily we met someone who could help us
