This house is rustic and cute. Pretty close to town but you still feel like you’re in the wilderness. We saw tons of elk on the drive there and deer from the backyard.

We loved our time here. It was the perfect location to get to the park quickly, there was plenty of space for our family and the views were amazing. The only thing that was tricky was finding the location for the first time, but Lisa’s driving directions were so so helpful! Just an enjoyable experience all around!

Our family of five enjoyed our stay at Sunny Slope Lodge so much! It is the perfect spot to come home to after a day of hiking and wildlife watching. The location is secluded and scenic (great views!), yet 15 minutes from groceries/restaurants in Gardiner and from the North Entrance to Yellowstone. Lisa was super helpful and responsive, and the house is clean, bright and well appointed. Highly recommend!

We were pleasantly surprised with the house. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen contained everything we needed. We loved staying at the house.

We were unaware of the number of steps. We had some elderly guests and the steps were difficult

This cabin is perfect for a family vacation. We had 7 people including a 2 year old. Lots of room and an extremely well equipped kitchen that really helped reduce eating out costs. The location was great for easy access to Yellowstone Park, Yellowstone Hot Springs, horseback riding in Jardine and groceries in Gardiner. Very helpful host with local activities information. The entire family loved this cabin and vacation experience.

We maximized our Yellowstone adventuring time so were only here to sleep a few hours but appreciated the space for 6 adults to spread out comfortably for the night!

This property is a cute rustic lodge style house with beautiful views and everything you will need for your stay. Be sure to have a vehicle that can make it up the long gravel road to the lodge.

Our group of 7 had an incredible stay at this VRBO property near Yellowstone National Park! The house was stunning with breathtaking views. Though the drive up in our Sprinter van was challenging, the location near the north entrance was ideal. The hosts were attentive, providing great recommendations. We highly recommend this property for an unforgettable group getaway near Yellowstone!

This was the cutest cabin
And the scenery around it is beautiful. The beds were comfy as were the couches. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Windows all around to enjoy the mountain wilderness while visiting, playing games, eating, or planning our day trips into Yellowstone. Lots of room to spread out for quiet time plus a vast kitchen well stocked with high quality cooking utensils, pots/pans, bowls, pyrex. The BBQ was stocked & ready for grilling! Bedrooms were comfy and bathrooms clean and well supplied.
Lisa was quick to answer a few questions and evidence of her love for this great place is everywhere. Parking for our 3 cars was easy close to the house. Additional spots 100' away.
Floor heat was welcome on cold mornings.
WiFi allowed 2 of our group to make calls. The rest of us could only call from Gardiner down below.
Highly recommended!

Wow! What a great please to retreat from the day to day hustle.
The amount of work and love that has been invested in this unique cabin is truly impressive.
Our only regret is we only booked for one night. Something we will definitely remedy on our next stay!

A special property during a historic time
We are coming to the end of an unforgettable family vacation. We traveled from Phoenix to Glacier National Park, stayed in rural towns and big cities, and had the privilege of experiencing some special properties from great hosts. For most of us, this would be at the top of our list of many properties. It is a beautiful home with thoughtful touches. It is rustic and charming in its feel, yet will provide the amenities needed at the end of a long day hiking and exploring. It is tucked away on a mountain, and our first drive to it left us in awe as we seemed to drive up to the clouds. Despite its remoteness, it is very close to the town of Gardiner and the North Entrance of Yellowstone. Unfortunately, we were also in the middle of the flood waters. The town of Gardiner is a lovely town with nice shops and good places to eat. After the flood, the character of the town was evident, as locals rose up to help each other (and the tourists) out. While we had short time in each rental, this is a place I could easily stay for a week. Our family highly recommends this home, and we cannot speak highly enough about Lisa, the host. She was kind, supportive and informative during a difficult time, and we would happily rent from her again.

Stay at Sunny Slope if you have the chance!
Fantastic property and SO PEACEFUL!!!! Can’t say enough about it. Well worth the 20 minute drive from Yellowstone north gate. Do yourself a favor and stay there for more than one night - give yourself time to soak up the tranquility!

Dream come true!
Everything about it stay at sunnyslope was incredible. Amazing property! Driving to the lodge was a mini safari in its self. Loved the small personalized touches. Lisa's communication was great and helpful. My wife and 2 daughters had the best time and it was possible because the owners are thoughtful and have us a reduced price. It was worth any price. Thank you

Yellowstone without the crowds
This is a great authentic log lodge that is remote enough to be private and quiet yet still close enough to the park for day trips. It is a great place to avoid the busy and generic feel of Gardner. It has modern heating and lighting systems even though it is made of old timbers. We visited in winter, the house was toasty warm and quiet during below zero nights and high winds. The wood stove was welcome but not needed for heating due to the heated floors.
We were a party of three couples and there was plenty of space. The three main bedrooms are spaced out and have their own bathrooms. The huge and bright great room and kitchen are a fantastic space to gather and hang out. There is a big loft that part of your group (i.e. kids) could use to socialize separately from the great room. If you are looking for a place to gather friends and family this it.
The check in and reservations procedures worked fine, and the host contacted us shortly after arrival to make sure everything was OK. It was perfectly clean and organized. We are thinking of coming back again.

Perfect place for our family Yellowstone trip!
Sunny Slope Lodge was the perfect place for our family trip to Yellowstone! The lodge is quite comfortable and was large enough for all 10 of us. We enjoyed the rustic architecture and appreciated the recycling of materials in the construction. After hot (and crowded) days in Yellowstone, we especially welcomed the calm and quiet and airiness, the green and lower temperatures at the house. And we loved that we could look across to the Park, with views of Mammoth Hot Springs, Electric Peak, and Bunsen Peak. The window seat got a lot of use!
Lisa is a great host: very helpful and welcoming and responding quickly to questions or concerns!
The lodge is very convenient to Yellowstone – only 10-15 mins. to the North entrance (which is not as crowded as the West entrance). The drive into Gardiner is mostly on a dirt road, but apart from some (inevitable) washboard, the road is quite good. From Gardiner, it is only 5 miles to Mammoth Hot Springs. Being close to Gardiner meant that we were also close to whitewater rafting/floating tours, pizza, the Gardiner Market, etc.
We have many happy memories of children playing in the yard, the horses next door, family dinners around the large table, sitting on the deck, both cooks and non-cooks gathering round the open kitchen. We would love to stay here again!

Wonderful log house in a very idyllic setting
We really enjoyed our stay. The log house was built and decorated with very sophisticated taste. Every window is a frame capturing fantastic views of the nature surrounding it. Sometimes we had to debate whether to take more time to enjoy the house or to head to the park. It's not an easy choice, :-)

Lovely Cabin in the Back Hills
This is a large spacious luxury cabin tucked in the hills behind Gardiner. It is quiet aside from the tranquil sounds of the creek and sounds of the night. Great kitchen and fabulous decks!! Make sure to bring food if you come later as it is remote. We loved it after so many people in Yellowstone. Great beds and such an open airy floor plan. Thank you so much.

Sunny Slope Lodge
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sunny Slope Lodge. Just a quick 10-15 minutes from the northern entrance of Yellowstone, the property gives you some isolation with close proximity to the park. She was quick to attend to all our needs as well as instrumental in planning our stay complete with a wildlife tour and rafting ride. She had games and books for children and plenty of room for my husband, four kids and my parents. We had a great time!!!

Perfect Yellowstone location!
Lisa's home is the perfect place for a visit to Yellowstone and was so helpful in helping us plan our trip. Her home is beautiful and very well equipped for a family trip and for cooking for the family. The location is great, being so close to the Northern Yellowstone entrance and Gardiner. We all loved hiking in Yellowstone and then returning to the house to sit on the back porch and enjoy the view and dinner. The layout of the house was perfect for the five of us and had more than enough room to add another couple. We will be back!

Great Place!
We traveled to Yellowstone National park with our two kids, my in-laws and my mom. We had previously stayed in Gardiner last year (on a whim) and loved the area, so this year, while planning our trip for 7, we obviously couldn't "wing it". So, with lots of searching on VRBO, we came across this gem and were thrilled to stay! While the drive from Gardiner, is a slow process (keep in mind it's only 5 miles), the views up to the cabin are incredible! We saw a fox, deer, and lots of elk along the way. The cabin is so quaint, spacious and nicely remodeled with incredible views! Lots of space for our group of 7 and everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed it! The property owners responded quickly with any answers we had prior to our arrival and were always nice! We highly recommend you add this to your list of "need to stay" places!

A Gem Hidden in Jardine, MT

Fabulous luxury mountain home
This is an amazing house in the mountains outside of Yellowstone. The house is absolutly beautiful. They recycled lumber from the 1860's gold rush in such creative, interesting and substantial ways. The rooms are large, comfy and private. We were only two couples but many more would be comfortable.

Wonderful Yellowstone Stay!
my wife and 8 children loved our time at this house. They went out of the way to do some little things that made it extra special for our family. the house is up a mountain, but worth the switchbacks to get to it. it is a nice and quiet, but still close to the town of Gardiner and the North entrance of Yellowstone. I don't think you can get much closer without staying inside the park...

Picture Perfect Home and Location
I can’t even begin to explain how amazing this property was. The pictures do not do it justice. All of Lisa’s recommendations were perfect! We were 10 minutes from Hellsaroarin Horseback riding, which was great, and also 10 minutes from the North Entrance of Yellowstone. We are already planning a date to be able to go back again. Thanks again for the most memorable vacation we have ever taken!!!
