This house is an awesome location. Enjoyed our stay at Lake Santeetlah!

Hello, We had a very nice stay..
Issue item
1. Outside decking was filthy. Bugs, spiders and cobwebs that looked like they have been there for years .I cleaned what I could with a broom🙄
2. Fairly sure there is a roof leak. The ceiling in the living room top left side of fireplace has discoloration indicating a moisture issue.
3. Kitchen faucet is very loose.
4. Living room couch is in very poor shape.

The property is average and what you would expect for meeting your minimum expectations. Although the renovation inside is better than average, the property is plagued with doors wobbling around and difficult to open and infested with spiders which would have been easy to remedy. The parking situation is by far the worst I have seen at a rental property and should be mentioned before someone books this property. In fact, I would say that the parking situation would have stopped us from booking this place hands down. Talked to the owner and she seemed surprised, even though much of this was mentioned in other reviews before us (we had no idea how bad it was until we arrived). There was no recent cleaning of the property either. As I said, the property and its condition meet very minimum expectations which is a shame because if someone spent an hour cleaning it up and addressing the doors, it would make a lot of difference - but that parking situation is a completely other story. I would actually rent it again but would bring a different vehicle for sure.

We loved this property! Beautiful home, not the right décor for being at the lake in the mountains, but the overall layout of the home was nice and loved having the downstairs pretty private to the rest of the home. Nice view of the lake, love that we could walk the little Island where Town of Lake Santeetlah was, so peaceful! Our only issue was parking from the neighbors, they wouldn't move so we couldn't utilize the space right, but we managed. The cleaning staff were very rude, so it wasn't a good ending to the trip, but overall we loved the location and views!

Beautiful view, great location, but for this price, I expected more amenities. House is obviously staged for sale, but the white leather sofas and mirrored everything don’t really seem like a comfortable mountain house. For a place that sleeps 8+, it would have been nice to have enough seating and table room for that many. Granted, the 4 black “ghost chairs” were as pictured, and the dining area had beautiful light, but a bigger table would have been nice… The ice maker was non-functional and even if it had been, it would not have accomodated a full house, so buy a bag of ice in town…. Be forewarned, there is no authorized lake access for this home.

Beautiful setting with outstanding view of this amazing lake and nice comfortable house. The grill worked well which made for wonderful dinners with the family, and close proximity to the Marina—highly recommend renting a pontoon boat which provides the only swimmable access to the Lake, as this property lacks such swimmable access. The constant and very loud chain sawing for 2.5 days on the house 40 feet away from this property made for a very disappointing stay. Also no coffee maker (other than a dirty single serving piece) and no salt and pepper was unlike any other property we have rented. We would not rent this property again.

Wonderful Mountain Getaway
Beautiful property with an absolutely wonderful view of the lake. The house and surrounding area are secluded and are the perfect place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. Plan to spend some time on the water when you visit - ask about boat rentals when you reserve - and if you’re looking for a larger lake to go tubing on, then remember Fontana Lake is just a half hour drive away.

Great great stay
Everything was perfect. The house was clean, had everything we needed, and we felt like we were floating on top of the water even at the dining table. Very relaxing and quiet location. The water in the lake was very clear and warmer than expected for beginning of May. We will be back.

Weekend stay
Stay in 4-5 airbnb, vrbos, ect year. This one was the cleanest place I've ever stayed. Beautiful home, amazing view, alot of space, great wifi for the area. Hot water only lasts 2 ish showers before its just lukewarm. Also says parking for 2+ cars. Driveway is gravel but also shares with the neighboring house. Hardly wide enough for 1 car. Can park up top and walk the 20 yards. Not a big deal. Overall don't miss out on this property! Great stay!

Much-Needed Comfort and Serenity
I don’t think we’ll ever forget the early morning views from the main deck. We’ve been to Prague, Canada and the Amalfi coast of Italy, but the morning clouds hovering over glass water with the backdrop of turning fall leaves on towering trees…absolute peace and stunning beauty.
The home itself is as close to perfection as you can get. It’s modern inside and blends perfectly with nature outside. All the essentials are there. The colors and design are close to what I’d choose for my future mountain home.
As other renters have noted, parking is a bit of a challenge. But as we found out while checking out the area, this is true for almost all waterfront rentals on Santeetlah. Land around the lake is scarce. Much of the land is protected, which is what helps preserve its beauty.
We NEVER stay or go anywhere twice, but we’d go back. And we’d stay in this home. There’s so much to see and do. One, or even a few stays, isn’t enough.
Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Sigh.

Santeetlah lake house
House has beautiful modern decor and a picturesque view overlooking the lake. Wasn't as clean as we would have liked it to be though. Bathrooms and floors could have used a deep cleaning as well as the windows.
Owner NEEDS to leave instructions on how to work the televisions and door locks. We played with one tv for a day before we got it to work. We couldn't figure out the one in the upstairs bedroom. Downstairs master bedroom didn't have one. Overall we had a great stay.

This house on the lake was perfect for our family vacation. It was quiet and convenient to the marina. Owners were super nice. Would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful Setting
Home is nice overall and setting is beautiful. I will set out the PROS and CONS as follows: PROS-Home is a good size and able to accommodate several people comfortably. Two bedrooms up and two down with large primary including ensuite downstairs. Other bedrooms are on the smaller size. Beds are pretty firm, but they worked for our group. Large open kitchen/living/dining area on main level which is where we spent a majority of time. Deck overlooks lake with mountain views and is great. Spent a lot of time out on the deck and that is the highlight of the home. Contact parties arranged through management company were very friendly and helpful. Grocery store and a few restaurants in the town of Robbinsville just over 5 miles from the home. Grocery store was well stocked. Home located very near the Tail of the Dragon which is worth driving. Bryson, Murphy, Cherokee and other towns are not too far and worth drive to visit. National Park is terrific. We saw a Black Bear and elk. Definitely worth the drive. Visited Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and they were about 2 hours from the house. More touristy but fun to visit. Pretty crowded. CONS-Parking at the home is difficult so if you have a large vehicle or two mid sized vehicles you might struggle a bit. Had to rearrange our vehicles each time we went anywhere. As other reviews mentioned, home is picked up but not overly clean. Certainly not "COVID clean" if that is what you are looking for. Some people are pickier on this issue than others, so really just depends on where you fall. Ice maker worked on/off and we had to buy bagged ice. Electrical outlets in primary bathroom did not work so had to use spare bathroom for electrical. Kitchen outlets were not working, but we found a GFI switch outside and were able to get those working. One working television in the living room area. Neither the primary bedroom nor the second bedroom downstairs had a tv at all. One of the upstairs bedrooms had a tv but it did not work at all, other than just turning on. Television in living room had ROKU as long as internet was working, it worked. Not on vacation to watch tv, but it is nice to have it for a movie or for the kids to watch. Working televisions are pretty inexpensive and are a minimal expectation to be in bedrooms, especially in a house used for vacation rental. Overall, expected more at the price point of this property. That is what kept me from giving it a 5.

Amazing, beautiful, relaxing
We had a truly beautiful and luxurious stay. We booked last minute after our other rental was cancelled, but we are so glad we got lucky and found this gem! The view is incredible and the entire house has windows everywhere. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We loved cooking family meals and took advantage of the grill. The beds were great. Our favorite place to chill is the back porch. It is in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood, which was fun to walk around. The owner, Rhonda, was very great at communicating whenever we had questions. Would definitely go back!!!!! Thank you so much!

Nice area
Nice house with modern furnishings. Master suite on lower level is huge. Plenty of room with 3 other bedrooms. Love the windows but they could use a good cleaning. We also found 2 baby mice so a good exterminator is needed which we relayed to owner. There are only 6 chairs to sit around the kitchen table when the condo houses 8 people. (And 1 chair was broken). The outside landscaping is beautiful. We really enjoyed sitting outside by the fireplace each night but could have used more wood. Nice grill but you have to provide your own propane. Easy walk to the marina where we rented a boat for 2 days. Lots of fun but no luck fishing. Good location for driving to multiple hiking trails.

Beautiful Views!
The house was great and sat beautifully on the property. The floors throughout the house were dirty but otherwise everything else seemed clean. The owner Jackie was very helpful and kind. Lake Santeetlah was clear and peaceful. It was hard to swallow being at the lake and not being able to have our boat mainly due to EVOLVE telling me they had reached out to the owner (prior to the booking) and there would be no place to park our trailer for the boat. I called the local marina as a back up option and the owner was a JERK. He said I could rent a slip from him but he had no options for the trailer. I found out AFTER booking and a day before our trip, EVOLVE actually NEVER talked to the owner about my inquiries b/c we would have had options! Other than that it was a great weekend.

Wonderful view!
Our friends enjoyed their stay at this property. They raved about the view of the lake and mountains from the porch and enjoyed having coffee together out there in the early morning. Thank you!

Four Family Christmas Stay
The space and location for us was great. The views were spectacular of Lake Santeetlah were wonderful. Close to grocery store and outing to Bryson City. However, we were very disappointed that the indoor fireplaces were inoperable. Our biggest disappointment was the televisions did not work at all . No cable, dvd, etc. we were able to communicate with our local hosts. But no tv service!! Maybe the owners had disconnected it!!!

Beautiful lakeside property
My family and I stayed here over Thanksgiving. It was perfect for 8 people to lounge around, cook food, and chill for a few days. Great trails near by to walk or roads to drive! We had a great time sitting on the porch watching the sunrise sipping coffee and reading a book throughout the day. Beds are confortable. The couches are really stiff but do have pop out ottomans for good reclining. The house is renovated with modern decor which looks nice and clean. I would stay here again.

Beautiful view
Beautiful home with wonderful view on this very quiet lake. Home had everything we needed for our stay unfortunately, the master bathroom was very dirty. The floor grout lines are supposed to be white but are an ugly brown color with mildew stains. There is a major issue with the plumbing, every toilet would bubble up and took several flushes. The home has several fireplaces, but they are decorative and not for use. This is a 4 bedroom house but there is outdoor seating for 4 on the main level and seating for 2 on the lower level. Would like to have outside seating to accommodate all 8 in out party.

Breathtaking
The house is gorgeous, very clean and conveniently located walking distance from the Marina. Beds are very comfortable.
