About this house rental
The Mountain House is 2,000 square feet and has three bedrooms with queen beds, two with private baths, and one bathroom downstairs. Two of the bedrooms have pullout sofa sleepers. The Mt. House has a full kitchen, living room, dining area, and porch with barbecue. There is also a deck attached to the Mountain House.
Out of the Wild Guesthouse offers scenic Denali views in a private hilltop setting with the opportunity to learn about the history of mountain climbing in Alaska.
The entire property, consisting of three separate buildings, can be rented for events.
Enjoy the local performing arts, artist co-op, brewery, and restaurants in the village of Talkeetna, or spend time on the miles of trails, nearby lakes, or Talkeetna River.

House was clean and ready for our use. The only issue was the bath and shower in the Summit room. I’m surprised someone hasn’t broken they leg getting in and out of it.

Love the views, the layout and decor of the house and all of the functional items we needed for a weekend getaway. We messaged the manager for a Pack and Play for our toddler and they had it at the doorstep in <10 minutes. Great host and great property!

Unfortunately the weather gods did not allow the view, but this is a fabulous place in every way. The location is wonderful and sitting outside is serene. The inside is very enjoyable and cozy, still spacious, the kitchen large equipped adequately, and one of those kitchens that has stuff in it to share... and leave some of your stuff in return. Beds are great, etc etc... 6/5

The weather in Talkeetna was pretty rough while were there but we tried to get out & enjoy the area as much as we could, but it was absolutely delightful to have our out of the wild mountain house to come home to. It was warm, comfortable & spacious!

This was a wonderful and unique property that we are still talking about. The views were breathtaking. Beds were comfortable and water pressure and temperature of the showers was blissful!
Kitchen was very-well stocked with most everything you could need with one exception....there were not enough spoons! There was an amazing cast iron pan that was perfectly seasoned.
The bathrooms had interesting tile work. The master tub/shower was an adventure to get in and out of, but the shower was amazing. The stall shower showerhead location was less than ideal, but the water pressure and temperature were great.
The photos on the walls were incredible and we appreciated the postcards provided by the owner. We loved exploring all the unique rooms and appointments throughout the property. There were many interesting conversation pieces! And the decor was charming and different throughout the property. We wish we'd had more time to explore here. I would definitely recommend this property!!

We had a magical time staying at your home. We saw Denali in all its Splendor twice. The perfect place to end our vacation. Unfortunately we had to leave on Saturday since one of the family members came down with Covid. We will definitely return. Many tanks Jackie and Bill

The mountain house property was awesome! There were 3 couples in our group and the mountain house gave us plenty of room. One of the first mornings we woke up to a pair of moose in the yard. I believe the owner of the property is a climber and the photos he had around the house were spectacular. Although most of our stay the weather was overcast we had one afternoon with a great view of Denali. The property is easy to find and gives easy access to Talkeetna and Denali NP. The care taker and Brian the owner were great and very quick to answer questions. We would definitely book the Mountain House again.

This property has an amazing view of Denali. I loved sitting on the couch in the bedroom and in the living room and just relax with the incredible views. The grounds are really pretty here, with lots of flowers in the summer. The hosts were very nice and communicative.

This is a lovely home, it was perfect for 3 couples. Spacious and interesting with all the climbing pictures the owner has as well as climbing gear. We had a great stay here.

The 4 of us just loved this place! The views were spectacular, the amenities were endless, the beds super comfy. We really enjoyed all the pictures around the house of ice climbing. We are so impressed! We would absolutely stay here again!!

This was our first time in the Mountain House, and it was an absolute treasure! Our girls weekend saw us trying out a home away from home, and not only did the mountain house meet our expectations, it exceeded them! Each individual piece of art, sculpture & photograph that make up the charm of this place have been chosen with care, as well as making the home feel special, but at the same time, it feels nothing but ‘homey’ from the moment you walk through the doors. The detail and consideration that the Host & Owner have taken to ensure you will not have need for anything you could have possibly forgotten… (pizza pan, got one! Extra ranch packet, sure! All the comfy blankies and pillows you could want? Absolutely!) ensures that you spend your time TRULY enjoying your stay. Our group will be back. Thank you, for making our stay wonderful.

We loved our stay. The house was fully stocked with anything you would need. The large space made it a great spot for our family get together. The kids had a great time playing outside. We were able to take the trail directly from the house on our snowmachines and go downtown. We plan on staying again next year. Clean and comfortable!

Wish we could have stayed longer! So lovely. It's a huge house filled with beautiful art and objects with enough space not to seem crowded. A unique space and clearly a labor of love. Quick communication, kind people, great stay, easy check in. Just follow the directions they provide instead of believing google maps.

The pictures do not do this property justice, it is unique, charming and in a great location. We enjoyed playing some games that were available and sitting on the back porch just watching. The weather did not allow the northern lights or Denali to be seen, but we would stay here again if we ever find ourself in Talkeetna.

Love the one-of-a-kind house, with unique architecture, beautiful view, the decor and comfy beds. Hugely appreciated the attention to details - plenty of hangers, hooks on backs of doors, extra bed pillows, fans and plenty of outlet switches in bedrooms. Well thought out details. Simple check in, and directions were perfect.

Amazing winter get away!
This was the second time we have rented this house and a cabin nearby to spend 3 nights over Christmas with our grown children, spouses and 2 grandchildren. It was once again a wonderful experience! The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and there is plenty of space to gather and make meals together also.

Lovely house close to town.
The Mountain House is a one of kind property with lovely furnishings and unique decor. We were only in Talkeetna for two nights and unfortunately it rained the entire time so we couldn’t see what I am sure are beautiful views. We also didn’t get a chance to explore the grounds. We loved the massive bed in the Summit room. The house does have a lot of steps - not steep but just individual steps up or down in the Summit bedroom and bath so just be aware that you have to be careful if you are clumsy like me. I have a tendency to fall down steps a lot but I was extra careful and had no problems. The climbing pictures and equipment on display were very interesting. The kitchen was well equipped and we really appreciated the coffee, creamer, sugar etc. There were even toiletries provided even though we brought our own. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Glorious weather, glorious view!
The size of the Mountain House worked well for our family of 11. The days were sunny and beautiful. Denali was in full view the whole three days! We appreciated the quality of the bedding and towels, we appreciated all the fans to beat back the heat. Having downstairs windows that open would've been a bonus. The check-in process hit a momentary snag when someone booked into another unit mistook which facility was theirs, but we appreciate your quick response to clarify his error. Some dusty corners and high window frames brought about some sneezes as the fans kicked the dust bunnies about. We appreciated having the washer and dryer available as we had two toddlers with us. Thank you, and I do hope we will return in the future!

The entire experience was very pleasant. The host was very attend to the details. The house is very clean and tastefully decorated. The view is spectacular. Kitchen is fully equipped. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay again if I’m back to the area.
