About this house rental
If you’d like to travel for a few days through 18th century England, the French countryside and the exotic East, this 1500 Sq ft home, 2BR/1BA, for 6, will have you swooning to Jazz while enjoying a Scotch. You will also love our 200 sq ft, sun-drenched, flower-filled deck. Bordering El Cerrito and centrally located, this home is close to BART and ideal for those wishing to explore UC Berkeley, San Francisco, Napa and Sonoma wineries and the Redwoods. Rich wood, exotic rugs and a stunning piano welcome you to a comforting interior. An eclectic mix of paintings, patterns and pairs lend the room a proper traditional feeling, while an enormous TV and cornucopia of music selection will please your eyes and ears. The Family room’s sectional and relational seating offers a splendid place for gatherings around the fireplace or a solo spot by the window to read. As you enter the charming kitchen, you’ll marvel at its amenities and want to create a scrumptious meal using oils, spices, pots and pans and every appliance we provide. In the morning, you may soak some rays on our flower-filled deck, drinking your French-pressed coffee. In the evening, you may adjourn to our front patio, turn on the fireplace and sip a local California libation. The queen bed in the Master bedroom will lull you to slumber after you explore the Bay by day. There is a queen bed in the guest bedroom. As well, there is an electric blow up queen mattress (may be used in the Family Room) and, of course, all linens and towels. Our ample Bathroom has a shower and a tub. We have a washer and dryer for your convenience as well. We love that our neighborhood is a secret, quiet gem in the middle of a bustling metropolis. We can hear and see the birds and the stars, interact with our super-friendly, community oriented neighbors and have access to diverse cuisines, cultures, architecture, geography, natural habitats and entertainment that surround us. Our gardener, Richard, will water the flowers on the porch daily for 10 minutes between 9AM-10AM. You may park in our Driveway or right in front of our home. BART, our subway, is less than a mile from our place. There are several bus lines nearby and bus #72 runs right by our street. We are near the intersection of hwy 80 and 580. If you feel like taking a ferry to SF, you can do so from Larkspur or Oakland.

The house is in a perfect location close to BART and shopping. Easy street parkimg and quiet at night. The patio is very relaxing.

This home had many thoughtful little things that made it easy to stay there- tissues besides the bed, nice kitchen, printer in office, close to bart but quiet, place to park, and so on. It is as described- full of antiques and decorations. The bed was very comfortable, hot shower plus bathtub. Our stay was nice.

Everything we needed for meal prep is available. Beds are comfortable. The back patio is a nice view while eating in the dining area.
I just did not like taking the trash out to the street on trash day.
In one of the rooms (not sure about the other room), plugs is hard to access for charging. There's an extension cord available but I did not see it until we're almost leaving.
Instruction binder for the property just needs to add availability of extension cord.
We enjoyed our stay here. We would come back.

My husband and I had a great time at this house. It felt like the home of people we could easily be friends with. The kitchen had everything we would need for meal preparation, the sound system and CD collection was fun to explore and enjoy, the deck felt like a private, garden retreat for reading, journaling, and yoga. I enjoyed a walk up and down the neighborhood hills. The hosts communicated clearly and in a timely manner. I would recommend the house to friends.

I brought my dad to California to meet his biological brothers for the first time. He absolutely loved everything about the house. He claimed the living room as his, as it has everything that he loves all in one room, piano, books, interesting art and of course music upon music. Everything was so comfortable and pretty easy to use. I was able to communicate with Daiva very easily with prompt response time. I would definitely recommend this house as a place to stay if you are ever in the area.

Rejuvenating & comfortable retreat. We were in town helping a sick relative and this place was so wonderful to return to at the end of the day. The house manual better than most. Detailed with clear steps and expectations. Centrally located and very quiet. Daiva was very helpful when asked questions here and there.

There are many good things about this house. Spacious, clean, well stocked and yet. I was renting a 3 bedroom place. We are 3 friends who meet every year at a location of our choice. I rented this place believing there were 3 bedrooms. When we arrived we discovered that there are not 3 bedrooms. It is a 2 bedroom home and with the possibility of setting up an inflatable bed on one of the 2 living rooms. Another issue emerged: both inflatables were unusable. We phone the property manager, Daiva, and she responded promptly bringing a small mattress. What really bothers me is the description of the house. It is a 2 bedroom home with the possibility of an inflatable bed if needed. I had communicated with them stating that we were 3 adults.
Again: Daiva was responsive. Thank you Daiva
I have 2 request for them. One: reimburse me a 1/3 of the amount paid and secondly: change the description.
Respectfully
Andre

A beautiful home. It was spacious and still cozy.

Thank you, Daiva, for your professionalism. Everything was perfect for us! We loved the artistic touches inside and outside the house. The house is very conveniently located in a safe neighborhood. We would go back there without hesitation.

Very convenient to Napa Valley and with just about everything you could wish for. Washer and dryer, a stove I wished I had in my house a gorgeous terrace with amazing views and a large assortment of music, movies and books. Thank you for your hospitality.

Great home. Old fashioned and clean. Area very quiet. Only 30 mins from the airport. About 20 mins from the mall. Very unique. The deck is very colors and calming. The rose bushes out front are beautiful.

I can not think of anything to say for this review except that this is an excellent rental property. I have stayed in many. The rooms are large. Everything was sparkly clean. The beds are comfortable.

Good place to stay in Bay Area. Great deck behind the house.
2.5
Lovingly maintained property on a hill with a view. Enjoyed the nice audio/visual setup. Wife and daughter enjoyed sitting on the relaxing back deck surrounded by greenery and flowers. Freeway convenient. Nice new clothes washer and dryer. Comfortable beds and sheeting.
Rated this a five star for the incredible value and overall cleanliness of the property. With that being said, I will add the following caveats for full transparency:
1) While the location of the house appeared safe to me, I deemed it too risky to walk back from the BART station after dark.
2) The parking situation was not fully as described and it took me a few hours to learn the proper place to park. Parking my SUV in the short driveway caused me a wee bit of stress every day.
3) Did not enjoy using the regular/compact size toilet (though I’m 6’2” and 225lb) and since the restroom is spacious, did not understand why there isn’t a full size toilet like you would see at a hotel.
4) My teenage daughter got poor sleep in the rear bedroom the first night of our stay due to the motion activated rear deck light going off multiple times due to presumably nighttime animal movement. Make sure to close the curtains all the way.
As I said, I rate this property a full five stars for the quality and value. Sure, I had some minor issues, but some of those are based more on my opinion and circumstances.

Was a great place to stay for a couple of days. I enjoyed the overall decor and vibe--very retro, but in a good way. Kitchen was stocked with a lot of pans/utensils as well as some the staples. Didn't cook during my time here, but definitely would have if i had stayed a bit longer. Thanks for sharing your home!

The house was very comfortable, exactly what we needed for our stay.

Pleasant neighborhood near San Pablo Blvd with stores, restaurants, and BART. Wonderful back deck. Comfortable, well equipped house

We visited for four nights. The property was lovely. Maybe almost too nice for kids. Lots of fragile nicknacks and corners. Getting in and out was painless, and the spaces are all complete and well-loved. We’d stay again.

This was a great rental! In a very quiet neighborhood and cute house. It was clean and just what we needed. It was nearby everything we came here to do. I would only suggest that you disconnect the motion sensor light outside the master bedroom window. We would rent here again and hope to be back!

This is a beautiful cozy space, exactly as described and photographed. Daiva is wonderful, easy to work with, and so responsive - answering questions before my guest's arrival and while he was visiting. I loved the patio which is filled with sunshine and flowers. The kitchen is truly amazing. If only I could replicate it at home. :) Enjoy your stay!!!!

The Home is Diffenitly a Home away From Home We Had a Great Time

If you appreciate old world charm and an eclectic collection of antiques, this home is for you! The impressive CD and book collection from around the world will keep discerning guests engaged and entertained for hours. What is most impressive about the property are the outdoor spaces, firepit and beautiful balcony, a real flowering oasis. The beds, desk and workspace are all very comfortable. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything you will need for your stay and to cook and enjoy gourmet meals. The home and property are beautifully and lovingly kept by the owners, gardener and property manager Daiva and her team. We would highly recommend for a sophisticated group of adults to use this as a base to explore the Bay area!
