About this cottage rental

Bell Cottage is a period town cottage in the very centre of Ludlow, less than two minutes walk from all the shops, pubs, restaurants and Ludlow Castle. Set over two floors and with a beautiful secluded garden, the cottage has been tastefully refurbished, yet is still packed with period features. A perfect base for staying in Britain's loveliest old market town. The accommodation provides 2 bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and one with a double bed and attached dressing room. Lounge with log burner and leather furniture, SMART TV, free WI-FI, DAB radios in kitchen and bedrooms.. Well equipped kitchen with full range of appliances and a dresser, pantry and farmhouse table and chairs. Contemporary ground floor shower room. Secluded enclosed walled garden safe for pets, which is south facing and gets the sun all day. Gas central heating throughout complimented by real log burner, initial stock of logs supplied. Bed linen and towels included. Pets welcome free of charge (maximum of 2). Sorry no smoking allowed in the property. On street free parking is available 30 - 100 metres from the cottage, or anywhere in the red zone parking area. You need to provide me with your car registration and I will include your car on the cottage parking permit. You won't need to display anything in the car as it's all done electronically.

The cottage is set over two floors and has two large bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and one with a double bed. There is also a dressing room with a dressing table, large wardrobe and chest of draws. The comfortable sitting room leads to a well-equipped kitchen which has a farmhouse table for dining. This leads to a walled garden which has a seating area for relaxing. The garden is south facing and is quite a sun trap as it gets the sun most of the day. We have enjoyed many summer days relaxing out with a drink or having something to eat. It is laid with gravel with plant containers and beds with shrubs and is very pet-friendly. Sitting in the walled garden enjoying a drink, it's easy to forget that all the shops, markets and restaurants of Ludlow are less than two minutes walk away. It would be hard to find a more convenient spot.

Ludlow is a beautiful market town, perched on a hill with the River Teme curling around the foot of the hill and an ancient Norman castle at the very centre. The town is full of history but also full of life - there's always something going on, either events at the Castle or regular markets/fairs in the town centre. It lies in one of the most unspoilt and tranquil stretches of the British countryside; the Welsh Marches. It provides a great location to explore the Shropshire Hills and to visit the historic towns and villages of Shropshire, Herefordshire and the Welsh borders. There are many local countryside walks such as on the Whitcliff, along the River Teme and in Mortimer Forest, which is also excellent for hiking and biking. Ludlow has many events occurring all year, in particular the renowned Food Festival held every September, a Summer Arts Festival and the Christmas Medieval Fair. Weekly markets are held every day except Tuesday and antique fairs take place regularly. It is also famous for the wide choice of high quality specialty food shops and eating places from bistros to restaurants serving local produce such as meat, cheese, pies, chocolates and beers. Ludlow has its own brewery and is well served by good pubs serving cask ales. Further afield, Berrington Hall and grounds which is a National Trust property is well worth a visit.

It’s lovely, everything you could need and all facilities. Fantastic shower. Very clean no problems. Suit 4 people, 2 couples probably. Lovely dressing room to back bedroom. Beds were super smart & clean. We had a small problem with back door key and a kitchen light switch as soon as we told Debbie there was someone there very quickly indeed. Parking permit was a great bonus included. Would return to this cottage.

We stayed at Debbie's place for several weeks. The location of the cottage could not be beaten, close to the centre of town, with Ludlow itself proving to be a great town for exploring the region. The cottage itself was well-equipped and ideal for our needs as a couple, though the living spaces could be a little tight for 4 adults. Unfortunately the weather was not overly kind so we were unable to make full use of the garden area! Debbie was a very responsive and flexible host. Would definitely recommend.

It could be lovely. It needs some investment. The kitchen was grubby. The knobs on the cooker were greasy and covered in dust, as were the light switches and sockets, the skirting in the bathroom ,the towel radiator ( I cleaned) and the lamp shades in the kitchen and hall way at the back of the house. I cleaned the cooker switches lampshade in the kitchen. Cobwebbs. The window latches are loose. It needs some TLC. We enjoyed our stay in Ludlow. A pretty town. Friendly people and in a beautiful part of the country.

We had a fantastic week in this property. It was small but had everything we needed. The garden was a great plus as it was very warm during our stay. The owner was very responsive. Location in the old part of Ludlow was fabulous. Highly recommended.

The cottage was in the perfect position to enjoy Ludlow, an easy stroll to the town centre. The cottage was equipped well and very comfy, perfect for the 2 of us, the lounge may have been a bit tight for 4 adults. I was looking forward to using the outdoor space, but it felt like a bit of a jungle out there, it could have done with a bit of tlc to make it more useable. This didn't detract from our stay, and may just be my personal preference for a garden.

Had a great pre-Christmas break, the cottage has everything we needed and it's location in the heart of Ludlow meant we didn't need the car all the time we were there. We love the dog friendliness of the place and of course the wood burner made for some lovely cosy evenings. The hosts were really accommodating and we will definitely be returning in the near future.

This two bedroom property is ideal for enjoying any time in Ludlow. So close to the restaurants, shops and castle. A highlight of the town is St Laurence church and its cafe. The kitchen is large and well equipped for cooking and eating meals. The bedrooms are very comfortable, though the stairs are a bit steep for large luggage and for trips to the loo in the night. We stayed long enough to need the washing machine and were very thankful it was there, and an outside line to hang dry. Highly recommend!

Nice clean cottage but very noisy road at the front. Ideally located for touring surrounding area, free parking a bonus. Stairs not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. Owner has catered for every need whilst on holiday and was always helpful with any query.

Bell Cottage is a very old property in a very old , atmospheric and historical part of Ludlow. It is tastefully furnished and decorated as well as being well equipped for all your needs for a comfortable stay. We took my sister for a belated 60th birthday celebration and had a wonderful time in the beautiful market town that is Ludlow Des and Helen Ruddock and younger sister Tricia Ruddock

We had a wonderful stay at Bell cottage. We visit Ludlow most Novembers and this was the first time at Bell cottage. The location is fantastic, and parking less than 200m away even better. The owner organised us a parking permit so we could leave the car near the cottage for the 3 days. Very clean and comfortable stay. Will definitely be back.

A beautifully maintained and well equipped cottage with some lovely extra touches from the owners. The courtyard garden was decked with lavender and roses and a perfect spot for a pre dinner drink.
