Nice and comfortable, well equipped!

Nice period property, nice beds and quite clean.

Not much of a negative but the TV was a bit old for today’s streaming age and the Wi-Fi was a bit slow. We stayed in on an evening due to it being February and it becoming dark early and therefore would of benefited from better Wi-Fi and a more up to date TV.

Comfy cottage, some gripes

Modern bathroom with shower. Small welcome pack dog friendly. Warm and cozy. Bedrooms comfortable

Path to cottage has steep steps no handrail or lighting, path slippery from leaves. Kitchen and dining room floor tiles VERY dirty. Some pans with burnt on debris, need replacing. Bathroom tile grout mouldy. Place needing a super good cleaning. Had to traverse around bed and staircase to access the bathroom

Lots of room inside the property, especially for two. Well equipped.

House location was difficult to find at first. Access quite difficult up several uneven sets of steps. Bedroom interconnections a bit odd - check carefully if you're coming as a family.

Awful

Convenient location

When we arrived there were lots of dog hairs all over the mat in the lounge that immediately went everywhere. As we explored downstairs this was also the case in the hall at bottom of stairs and on the mat/floor in the kitchen. We appreciate the house was and is dog friendly, but the downstairs clearly just hadnt been cleaned. When looking under the chairs in the lounge this was actually quite disgusting with the amount of hairs. Throughout the rest of the house we also saw dead flies on windows and actually what appearing slug trail on the back mat, all again confirming no cleaning could have been properly done on the property. What this actually meant was with 2 small children we could barely spend any time in the property, as our 1 year old in particular couldnt go down on the floor (the first time he did he was completely covered in dog hair). In the end this became so bad we actually checked out Sunday rather than monday and headed home.

Lovely cottage, ideally located for trips to Matlock, Matlock Bath, Chatsworth and Bakewell. Cosy, warm and well equippe

It was set back away from the road so it was lovely and quiet. It had a lovely cosy, homely feeling to it. The beds were comfortable and rooms were nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed and more!

Only one set of keys, could do with a second set.

Very disappointed. Photo's greatly made the place look bigger

Not much. Pillows were good and bed

Small.dangerous and lethal stairs. Dangerous steps from bedroom to bathroom. Dangerous unit in bathroom so you can't sit on toilet straight. Having to go from one bedroom to another to use the toilet,waking everybody up on a night ridiculous. Should be a single bed not double as you can't squeeze under the stairs when wanting to use bathroom

Pleasant stay but far too expensive. From experience other properties at same cost far superior.

Parking. Residential area- some neighbours not particularly friendly and had issue with parking even though we were very careful to follow the rules. Layout of house not ideal for a family or otherwise. All rooms connected. No private outdoor space. This was not reflected in the price. Very overpriced for area/ facilities/ layout/ outdoor space/ difficulty parking

Beautiful cottage on the edge of the Peaks

This cottage is so lovely, the photos don’t do it justice! Beautifully decorated & comfortable, with all the amenities you need for a great stay. Location is about 10-15 mins walk from town in a quiet & charming neighbourhood, uphill on the way back so be prepared! A couple of good pubs nearby & a fantastic butcher at the end of the street. Comfy beds, good shower, pretty gardens front & back with places to sit in the sun. The kitchen diner is nice & spacious for cooking & eating together. Good location for visiting the sights of the Peak District (Chatsworth & Haddon Hall close by to name check just 2 places). Matlock is a quaint little town with various shops & places to eat & drink. We absolutely loved staying in the cottage.

Only a small thing but parking space sign and steps up to the property would benefit from some lighting.
