Ok but stressful because of the issues raised.

The location and view is spectacular and the cottage comfortable, albeit the decor a bit dated

There were several issues: The drive is very steep and has two large potholes. I drive a BMW which is low to the ground. It was near on impossible to access the drive and I believe I may have damaged the underside of my car - it is booked into the service department at the dealer to be checked. If there is a damage then I will be seeking for this to be repaired The downstairs toilet started to leak at the end of the week - it wasn't clear where the leak was but I reported this to the owners before I left. The central heating and hot water system are extremely noisy; I was woken up when they came on in the mornings. The cupboard door beneath the cutlery drawer is not hung properly and catches on the drawer when it is opened. The property is billed as pet friendly. However, the garden is surrounded by fields of sheep with low fences and gaps in the fence / gate. Fortunately, my medium sized dog couldn't get through although he did have a good try. A smaller dog could have accessed the field via the gaps and a larger dog could jump the fence. I was unable to leave my dog outside unsupervised. I wouldn't recommend that people take dogs to the property and if I were the owner (who is the farmer) then I would not allow people to bring pets - safer all round. The gardener turned up with no warning on the Monday morning and blocked my car on the drive. I felt that my privacy had been invaded. The gardener did witness my car scrapping over the drive if you need verification about this. The property is billed as having a shared swimming pool - but there is no information at all in the cottage as to where this is located. The weather wasn't good enough to use the pool so I didn't bother to ask. There is also no information on which days the bins are collected etc. This may be due to Covid, but even so basic information perhaps on a laminated card would have been helpful.

Good

Great position. Beautiful views. Very well equipped. Plenty of space in the cottage. Lovely outside spaces including a tables, bbq and coals. The high chair and cot requested weren't in the cottage when we arrived but within minutes of telling the owners they were delivered. We think it was an agent error.

It wasn't very clean. Particularly in the conservator. Dead flys and cobwebs but I suppose that is to be expected in a farm cottage. Although I understand that the cottages are sprayed with disinfectant and then the cleaners come in before visitor's arrive.
