About this villa rental
Enter our villa via the secure electronic gates which will lead you to a private driveway big enough for around four vehicles
. From the private driveway, walk up a dozen steps and turn left into your own private pool area, boasting panoramic views across the hills of Competa which can be enjoyed from sun loungers and chairs around the pool or on the raised terrace surrounded by gardens.
Just next door to the pool sits an outdoor BBQ House, fully equipped to enjoy fresh cooking and al fresco dining, where there is a table and chairs provided. This area, alongside the swimming pool, can be lit up at night, so you can continue eating and socialising into the evening.
Walking towards the Villa, there is a large veranda just outside the front door. Again this is an ideal area for al fresco dining with a large table and six chairs, and it is extremely handy on exceptionally hot days or for those guests that prefer to seek shade. Next to the veranda is a private Hot Tub which can seat up to six people. Panoramic views of the mountains can be enjoyed from the Hot Tub and it remains private, situated within two walls so that you can enjoy your surroundings in complete tranquility. This is also the perfect place to star gaze on clear nights.
Upon entering the villa you are soon greeted with traditional property features complimented by modern amenities. Through a bricked archway is the newly installed kitchen which has a large LG fridge and freezer, a built in oven accompanied with a built in microwave which sits on top, an induction hob, a slow cooker, kettle and toaster. It comes fully equipped with all the utensils you will need to enjoy cooking and eating in, such as cutlery, plates, bowls, oven trays and induction saucepans. There is also a small table and chairs in the kitchen.
There is a functioning dining area which sits open planned with the living room. It has an extendable dining table and can seat up to six people. It sits inside two large sash windows which amplify natural daylight, and is an ideal spot inside the Villa where you can enjoy the views from the Competa hills.
The living room is situated around a wood burner stove which is a charming feature for enjoying cosy nights in with a glass of local Competa wine. There is a three seater sofa with colourful scatter cushions and two side table lamps. Two matching armchairs accompany the three seater, and you can use the TV which has some English channels if you can stream you will have more choice . Wifi is free . we fully appreciate that the Villa might encourage you to completely switch off and relax during your stay!
There are three double bedrooms at the villa. Two are almost identical in size, and both are furnished in pine . no 2 has double bed other can be either be 2 single beds or made to 1 double bed matching bedside cabinets and side lamps, plus a wardrobe. There is a chest in each room with a mirror. One of these bedrooms however has some lovely views across the mountains, so if you are staying in a group, you might need to toss a coin to decide who gets that suite. The last bedroom, albeit smaller than the other two, is big enough to house a double bed, but has only one bedside table and lamp, a clothes rail and a mirror.
There is one main bathroom which has been recently completely renovated. It boasts a large glass walk in shower complimented by nautical tiling. A vast ceramic sink sits above a two drawer cabinet and a light up mirror spans it's width. There is a shaver plug to the left of the sink, plus a normal plug where our hair drier can be used. The toilet also sits to the left, and just opposite is a heated towel rail.
The villa encompasses modern facilities, tradition and beauty, alongside home comforts, making it the perfect getaway for families, friends and couples alike.

We stayed in the lovely villa in July 2020, Rachel and Barry were very helpful and replied to all our questions leading up to the holiday and on arrival was greeted by jan who had a calming presence, which made us feel very secure during our stay, and replied to us straight away with any questions that we had for him whilst at the villa, even the neighbours were friendly often greeting us with a good morning when we see them, we particularly liked sitting out on the patio chairs and watching the sun rise in the morning with a coffee with those beautiful views. We enjoyed the pool to cool down in the day and t
loved relaxing in the hot tub at night. The villa is in a good location to explore the coastal towns we loved torre del mar and Nerja. We enjoyed our time at the villa and will definitely go back again. Thanks to everyone for making our stay enjoyable.

We spent two glorious weeks at the villa and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The well equipped property is set in the hills with amazing views all round. The pool, hot tub and BBQ area were wonderful. Everything was just perfect for us. We would love to return again. Thank you to the property managers ( Christine and Malcolm) who met us and explained all the details about the villa and thank you to Rachel and Barry the owners.

Had a great stay at the villa just needs tweaking to make it perfect. Needs better mattresses and pillows. Needs either aircon or ceiling fans as the fans they have are quite noisy. Settee is very uncomfortable and needs mosquito nets in living room kitchen. The last thing was only one sun brolly between 4 of us. But these few item do not spoil the other plusses. Lovely views peace and quiet great location for visiting the area great value for money 😍

We are very grateful to the owners and managers of the villa. Our vacation was perfect. The pool and Jacuzzi were constantly occupied by us and the kitchen with an outdoor grill smelled of goodies every night. Beautiful surroundings, amazing white villages, crystal clear sea and great food and drink. What else could you wish for. Thank you once again !

The area where the villa was located was stunning, unfortunately the villa was let down by the proximity of kennels at the bottom of the driveway. The tranquility of the villa was shattered by dogs not only barking but actually fighting each other which sounded most savage. One dog was barking non stop one morning from 06.00 and did not stop for a couple of hours. Having a stressful job in the UK this is something i did not envisage having on my holiday.
The villa itself is quite basic and would benefit from more comfortable furniture,also there was no air conditioning. This was hampered by not having bug screens on the lounge windows allowing free flow of bugs into the house as quite clammy in the evening, windows need to be left open to get some air.

We've had a super holiday. The view from the villa is superb and you never tire of it! We all enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. The bbque area was lovely and such a nice place to sit on an evening.

We loved our stay from the moment we set foot in the villa to home time, we couldn't ask for any better. The villa was so clean and tidy, had everything we needed for a self catering holiday. Great pool again spotlessly clean. Our kids had a great time with it all to themselves. Views are to die for. Hot tub a lovely addition when it got cooler. Plenty of space for four. Beds very comfy. Great power shower with rainfall head. Fully equipped kitchen with all types of crockery and utensils. Big fridge freezer, excellent space. Outside kitchen was just perfect and again fully equipped. Barbecue grill really big and clean. Smooth meeting villa managers and handover. We will be back very soon.

We have just returned from a fantastic 11 nights in this lovely villa. The villa itself is spacious, characterful, clean, and has everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is lovely and modern with huge fridge freezer, fab induction hob and plenty of cutlery and crockery, as well as a very useful washing machine. Three lovely bedrooms with plenty of storage and a shower room with large, powerful shower. Also great WiFi connection (very important for my teenage son!) and plenty of channels on the TV (more than we have at home I think!). The outside space is amazing, the pool is a great size, the kids (and us) pretty much spent all our time in it, there is a great outside kitchen with bbq which we made plenty of use of, and the views really are spectacular. You just couldn't tire of them, incredible in every direction. It was wonderful in the mornings to walk out onto the stunning terrace and enjoy breakfast looking out at these views, as well as lunch and dinner, and of course plenty of the local wine! Nearby Competa was a delightful, Authentic, Spanish town with loads of great restaurants. Our three children were made to feel very welcome everywhere we went, we also found the prices to be very reasonable, both in the reaturants and supermarkets. Good market in Competa on a Saturday morning. My daughter and I also went on a lovely horse ride at a place Rachel had recommended, Tina was great with my daughter who was very inexperienced. We also had amazing weather throughout, very welcome after the awful weather we've been having in the UK this summer! This really is a very lovely place and I have no hesitation in highly recommending to others. We don't normally go back to the same place twice but we would make an exception for this very special villa. Also excellent communication from the owners Rachel and Barry and also from the key holders in Spain. Many thanks!

We had a really relaxing holiday at this beautiful villa. The setting is stunning and we had lots of fun star gazing from the hot tub. Also drove into Competa a few times to enjoy meals out and explored Malaga and the coast.
The pool is beautiful and we all enjoyed the whole holiday.

Stayed at this wonderful villa for 11 nights June 2017.
The place is absolutely stunning with everything you could wish for during your holiday. The views are fabulous, the villa is perfectly situated between Competa and Torrox whilst remaining secluded - Perfect! A wonderful pool area which was used daily to cool down from the sun and the hot tub was the icing on the cake to take in the views with a large glass of bubbly of an evening.
It shows that Rachel and Barry have spent time to ensure your stay is comfortable throughout. Lots of places to eat offering a wide selection of cuisines and lots of places to visit.
Great place, would highly recommend and we will be booking again.

My partner and I stayed at Casa Maria for 8 nights at the beginning of October and I cannot thank Rachel enough for a wonderful relaxing stay.
The villa is absolutely beautiful with panoramic mountain views (and gorgeous sunsets!) and a tranquil atmosphere. It really allowed us to switch off and relax. It is also extremely well equipped and has everything you need during a stay, it really was like a home from home. We loved the BBQ terrace and enjoyed cooking on it during the evening, the outdoor jacuzzi was such a luxury and we spent most evenings in it drinking wine and looking at the stars, and the pool was great to cool off as it is still extremely hot in October (highest temperatures were around 28-30 degrees).
Rachel also has great knowledge of the local area and she told us about some real hidden gems (restaurants, view points etc) to visit which really contributed to our memorable holiday. There were some lovely restaurants, bars and places to visit which allow your stay to be as busy or relaxed as you wish.
I would definitely recommend Cómpeta as a place to visit as it is an unspoiled, ethereal and authentic Spanish location with activities to do and sites to visit unlike anything you could find from a conventional package holiday. I would also definitely recommend this villa to stay in as Rachel really has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. We felt relaxed, safe and at home and had an unforgettable summer holiday. Thank you and See you next year!

Was very impressed with the villa, very comfortable and its amenities were great! Spent most of the week in the pool and the jacuzzi! Newly fitted kitchen was a pleasure to cook in. Jan was really nice and very helpful. Far and away the best villa we have had in Spain, we would book again in a heartbeat. Oh and the weather was epic!

We loved our stay in this villa - the views are stunning and being able to watch the sun go down in the hot tub was the icing on the cake. We spent most of the time in the pool and outside, it was so relaxing. The pool is a brilliant size, clean and was constantly in use . The kitchen is fitted out brilliantly and I found everything there I needed. The BBQ area is new and a real gem - we used it 3 times in a week it was so good!! The bathroom is so clean and was plenty big enough for us - the same with the bedrooms. The town of competa is not far away and we thoroughly enjoyed our night out there. I would thoroughly recommend this villa - my family loved it.
