Just returned from an incredible 3 weeks at this property. The location was idyllic surrounded by vines and nature. The house was spotless and had plenty of room for the family. It was well equipped with everything we needed. Great location to visit the area and within an easy drive of Bezzier Cap D’agde airport. The large supermarket a few minutes away made life very easy. Communication was excellent and instructions on checking in were clear. Richard and Shirley were fantastic with cleaning the pool 3 times a week and changing bedding and towels weekly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. All in all I would highly recommend a visit.

We stayed at the property in August (group of 10 friends in late 20s). It is is located in a great location. The nearest village, Coursan, is a 20-25 minute walk from the house and there are two large supermarkets in Coursan that have everything you need. There isn't anything to do in Coursan but the nearby town of Narbonne has lots to do and is very pretty. You can travel to Narbonne by bus or train but they do not run often. A taxi from the Narbonne train station to the house costs around 20 to 30 Euros. You can stay at the property without a car using the options mentioned above but it is definitely easier (and saves a lot of time) to have a car, which we did.
The house itself is an old farmhouse. It is quite large so it's very spacious. The bedrooms are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. We cooked most nights we stayed there. There is no air conditioning but each bedroom has a fan and the windows have mosquito nets that can be drawn up and down. We were worried about the fact there was no air conditioning (the temperature reached 35 degrees when we were there) but it turned out to be absolutely fine with the fan and ability to leave the windows open. Given the house is in rural location bugs are to be expected but they weren't that bad in the evening. We sat outside every night and we did get bitten by mosquitos (despite spraying repellent on our bodies) but it was not overwhelming.
The pool and pool area are great. The pool is a good size and there is lots of space around the pool to relax. There were enough deck chairs for all of us and there were padded covers for the deck chairs to make them more comfortable. The pool area also has lights so it can be lit up in the evening, which created a lovely atmosphere. As there are no neighbours you don't need to worry about making too much noise. There is also a table tennis table and a small pool table, which were great additions to the property.
I corresponded with the owner, Philip, before our trip who was very helpful and responded quickly. A booklet was also issued to myself before our visit which contained a lot of detail regarding the property and surrounding area. It was very useful to have and made life much easier when staying at the property.
Overall, this property would be great for any group. You can stay there without a car but it is certainly easier with a car.

Superb home in a peaceful location.
This is a lovely house down a quite lane. The property is spacious and is the best equipped I have ever stayed in. Communication with the owner and the agents was easy and any questions were promptly dealt with.
On arrival we were met by Julie who showed us around then left us to settle in. Mark came later in the week to clean and check the pool, both were helpful and were able to advise us on the area and most importantly the wine.
It took us around 30 minutes to walk to the super u, or there is a spar in the town which is nearer, with an excellent butchers for the BBQ meat.
The house is in an ideal location to visit different places. We had a short trip out to Barges 25 mins away and found an amazing restaurant in the village square, we returned that evening for dinner the food was superb and very reasonably priced.
We had a lovely holiday and as the house is central we were able to visit places and then return for time in the pool.
One thing, it would be nice to have a sun shade around the pool, it wasn’t too hot when we went but I think in August it might be too much for some, but you don’t necessarily want to sit by the house under the shade on your own.
We would certainly return.
Thank you so much for renting out your lovely home

Relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.
Had a fantastic time spending two weeks in August at Domaine de Favette. Perfect if you are seeking somewhere to truly unwind in an authentic, spacious environment.
Our party comprised of four adults and four young children. The house was more than big enough for us all.
We enjoyed swimming in the large private pool and making use of both the fixed and the free-standing oil drum style bbq.
The views over the vineyard are a treat to wake up to and we enjoying relaxing by them on an evening whilst barbecuing or playing ping pong.
The property has everything you need and should you want to watch TV, the one in the lounge has been upgraded to a flat screen as opposed to the one in the pics.
The location was great for exploring the area. Good local butchers at the SPAR in Coursan. He makes his own sausages and has a good selection of cuts.
We also loved Les Halles in Narbonne - fun experience eating at Chez Bebelle!!
Roquebrun - very pretty village with beach on a river; rented a boat and had delicious food at La Cave Saint-Martin.
Gruissan - Enjoyed the seafood at Huitres et compagnie and both beaches.
La Franqui - great beaches, great vibe.
Terra vinea - wine cave. Good on a rainy day (we only had the one).
We also got out to Carcassonne, Beziers, Seté and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Domaine de Favette as the perfect base to explore, relax or spend quality family time from.
Mark and Julie were great, attentive and quick to support with any tips and advise.

Very spacious converted farm house
Lovely spacious converted farmhouse by the river Aude surrounded by vineyards.
Very quiet rural setting away from any other buildings - ideal if you want peace and quiet. You need a car to get anywhere but well placed for surrounding towns and beaches only 25 mins away.
The house had a very French feel to it - this is no modern identikit villa - it has a great charm to it with all the mod cons you need.
Lovely large pool which we used just about all the time.

Excellent house with lots of space & great pool
We stayed in Domaine La Favette for a wonderful two weeks at the end of June, beginning of July. The house was perfect and the photos do not lie. The house was well equipped and had pretty much everything we needed to enjoy our stay. There was loads of space in the house as well as outside. The pool area had plenty of room for sun loungers and chairs as well as a small pool house with a fridge for keeping the drinks cold. The pool, which was a good size, provided a welcome break from some of the really hot days we had.
There was a large garage attached to the house with a BBQ, table tennis table and a few bikes. We did manage to get some of the bikes working but they definitely need updating.
The house is very quiet and has vineyards one side and the river Aude on the other. We really enjoyed walking along the raised riverbank and watching the local wildlife. We also managed to cycle to the Canal de la Robine which links the Canal de Midi, via Narbonne to the coast. It was an easy cycle along quiet lanes to the canal and then a nice cycle along the footpath.
Coursan is only about a 5 minute drive away and although it’s not very big it has a decent Super U with a 24 hour automated petrol station. There’s also a good boulangerie plus a nice wine shop selling wine en vrac. We only tried the Chardonnay but that was very nice.
For local restaurant’s we tried Narbonne, which is about 15 minutes away, and Narbonne plage, about 30 minutes away. Both places had plenty of restaurants to choose from. Narbonne plage is great if you want the beach.
We went on several day trips. Carcassonne, which is about an hour away, is probably the main attraction. Closer to the house is the Abbaye De Fontfroide, which is worth a visit on a hot day as its nice and cool inside. There are also quite a few hill top villages near the Abbey.
Phillip was really helpful whilst we were booking our holiday and Mark and Julie, the local agents were very welcoming with tips and local knowledge about the area.

Charminng house
A great house in a very rural location set amongst vineyards. We ( 4 adults and 2 children ( under 10)) had a great week at La Favette. Lots to do in the area be it towns/ villages, historic sites, or just the beach . The kids loved the pool (which was very clean), the local play area and a good quiet stretch of beach which was only 30 minutes away - we had a few visits. In the evening it was nice to walk through the vineyards or along the levee - very relaxing. The house is well appointed and very spacious. Mark is extremely helpful and full of local infomation. Coursan has plenty of shops and a well stocked wine cave. The Chardonnay (well chilled) en vrac is highly recommended.

Magical holiday in tranquil setting
La Favette was an ideal house for us- a group of friends. We had a wonderful week of relaxing by the pool, going for walks, eating outside on the terrace and enjoying the weather. We ended up not straying far from the house as the local town had all that we needed to enjoy the holiday.
Would love to return to this house as it provided a perfect space for us to enjoy the weather and the peaceful setting. A very memorable and happy holiday for us all!!

Great Farmhouse setting
La Favette was a great place for our two-week family get-together, housing ten people with ease. The setting among the vineyards was peaceful and quiet, an ideal place to spend many hours fraternising by the pool. There are lots of interesting places to visit within easy distance, Carcassonne with its walled medieval city, Narbonne has Roman ruins and museum, markets, a wonderful food hall, Cathedral( we were lucky to be able to attend a concert there). Celebrations for Bastille Day included a band and dancing outdoors in the Square.
Most of our party enjoyed the 2km walk to Coursan, slightly longer if you take the walk along the levee by the river. Most services are available in Coursan.
Mark and Julie were extremely helpful and have a good knowledge of the surrounding area .

Excellent
We had a wonderful holiday! The property fitted the description perfectly. It was clean and ready on our arrival. Mark and Julie were very helpful during our stay and very nice to work with. All our communications with the owner were easy and clear.
The position of the house is fabulous among the vines and quiet but easy to get to interesting places and Super U.
We spent lots of time just chilling and enjoying the pool but we did visit Carcassonne,, Gurissan, Abbaye Fontfroide and Narbonne and the beach. All good. There was much more that we could have done if we had wanted. We would definitely recommend La Favette and we should add that our two small dogs also loved it!

A wonderful holiday!
La Favette is a wonderfully restored farmhouse on a beautiful, quiet terrain with an expansive yard and lovely outdoor pool. The web site pictures are quite accurate; their only fault is that they do not do justice to the impressive landscaping around the pool area! My family and I were able to really unwind here, while taking the occasional day trip ( i.e. wine tasting, visits to local markets, exploring Cathar castles) around Languedoc. Thanks to our long stay (more than two weeks), the property began to feel like a second home – and one we very much look forward to returning to in the future! The house custodians, Julie and Mark, were very welcoming and very helpful with amenity requests and travel and dining suggestions. All in all, a wonderful holiday!

Oasis of peace in the vineyards
Five of us (4 adults & 1 child) enjoyed 10 days of peace and bliss in wonderful surroundings.
The property was spacious, clean and very well equipped.
Julie and Mark were most welcoming and helpful.
Our greatest difficulty was making ourselves leave the property to go anywhere!
We hope to visit again.

A wonderful , peaceful and ideal holiday property
I really would like to say how absolutely horrible the place was- to avoid others booking - but I can't because this home is a simply a small slice of heaven in the middle of a French sun soaked vineyard. The house and the facilities were the best. The house was clean and very well equipped. The couple who were the local agents were fantastic- welcoming and helpful and they maintained the property with skill and care. The joy of this home is its privacy and setting yet near to many wonderful sites to visit and long sun soaked beaches- and the local beers and wines were - well simply well tested!A local pizza restaurant - Chez Pierre - will be re-visited next year (booking already made!!!) - and the local Super U provided all we needed. The pool the gardens and the house provided all 8 of us with a great holiday-30+ degrees helped a wonderful tan to develop .This was the best holiday experience our two families have shared over many years! Thank you!

Lovely rental, hard to fault
We stayed here for a week in August and had a wonderful time, I can thoroughly recommend this house! The house itself is lovely set in a peaceful, but not remote location, the vineyard views are fantastic. Our kids (4 and 7) loved the pool and pool toys, the table tennis table and pool table – lots to entertain them. We used the bikes at the house for some peaceful rides through the vineyards and along the river. The house is well located for Carcassonne and the coast, we got everywhere we wanted to go in about 30 mins. Coursan is not the most picturesque town, but it has everything you would need, supermarkets etc…. Finally, the service provided by the owner before and after the stay was fantastic – he was very accommodating and helpful. All in all, it’s hard to find fault in this house.

Fantastic family holiday!
We have just come back from a wonderful couple of weeks at La Favette.
With 8 adults and 2 children, we found that there was plenty of room to accommodate us all (both inside and out). The house was extremely well-equipped with more kitchen utensils that you could ever need and the children loved all of the pool toys that had been left (the adults did too)!!
The pool was brilliant with lots of space for sunbathing. It was also great for the children (aged 3 and 5) as there were large steps at one end of the pool for them to stand whilst partially submerged.
Sitting eating and drinking watching the sun set over the vines will be a very fond memory for years to come.
There is not a great deal to see and do in Coursan although the location does allow easy access to the beaches, in and around Narbonne, all of which we found to be excellent.
I would definitely recommend La Favette to others. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Superb Holiday Accomodation - 5 Star!
We've just got back from an absolutely fantastic holiday at this Villa in Coursan, the Villa is Superbly located in the middle of Vineyards and beautiful surrounding countyside. Our party comprised of 6 adults and 4 young children which the villa easily accomodated. The Villa has every amenity you could want including a 3 fridges with one in the pool house, every cooking utensil you could want, UK satellite channels, DVD, Snooker table various games to keep children occupied if the weather should turn for the worse. The Villa itself is secluded and surrounded by Vineyards, there is a flood dam with a path further to the rear that has an excellent walk approx 2km following the river. In Coursan we would highly recommend visiting the local Winemakes you can sample various wines and buy direct from between 1 EURO and 1.55 EURO a litre! and it is excellent!. The Villa itselt is split accross various levels so it's excellent for mixed parties two of the main rooms have very modern nice en-suite shower rooms with the third having a very large ground floor wet room, the lounge is very large with a large dining table for evening entertaining. At the front there is a nice patio area with a large parisol to spend the evening looking over the vineyards, to the side of the property is the pool which we frequently used with a pool house, the pool has automatic skimmers to keep clean and nets etc so you can remove anything that might drop in. The propety also has a garage with table tennis table, darts board, large number of assorted bikes for use. Locally around the property is the town of Coursan which is small very beautiful with a Super U (This is good) and Lidl (Which is Rubbish!) If you drive 4 miles into Narbonne and follow the signs to the Narbonne Plage you will find Carefor's this is huge very cheap and has everything you could want from food, to toys, clothing all good quality, Narbonne is good but St Pierre beach is superb and very highly recommended, Carsacanne is defintily worth a visit (48miles) and if you head to the Castle it has a medievil city inside selling and wide range of souveniers. SETE (44miles) is also another excellent place to visit very beautiful on the coast with an excellent town. Narbonne is also good just head to "CENTRE VILLE" and you see the car park signs park in Halles and walk to the castle and you'll be right in the town entre.
Overll this Villa is Fantastic / Excellent / Superb! you'll have a great time - we miss it already!

Perfect spot to relax and unwind with friends
Recently returned from a very relaxing 11 day stay with friends at La Favette. The house was exactly as described and the service provided by the owner both prior and after our return was first class. The house is well looked after and its position at the end of the lane with the vines coming up to the door and the river aude to the rear means it was totally secluded and the ideal location for a total getaway break. The services in the local village of Coursan were perfect for our everyday needs and the welcome and service at Le Petit Croix was just terrific for morning coffee and evening meals.
We did not travel around too much but did visit Carcassonne which was a bit disney for our tastes - best tip is to arrive early before the tourist coaches arrive. We also crossed the border to visit the Salvador Dali museum in Figures and Port Lligat which was an easy drive.
The highlight for us was the day they came to pick the grapes !
All in All I would recommend La Favette either to families or a group of friends who want to chill in comfortable surroundings away from the crowds.

Fantastic family holiday
We are seasoned holiday renters across France and Spain and this has to be one of the very best houses we have ever stayed at. The property itself is charming and beautifully situated in the French countryside without feeling at all isolated.
The kitchen is perfect for self-catering and the bedrooms and en-suites are very comfortable. There are more fridges and freezers than you will ever need and that cuts down on how often you need to head to the shops to restock.
The pool area is relaxing and the children spent hours splashing around each day when they were not riding the bikes or playing snooker or having a table tennis match.
Mike was a great help on one occasion when our French was not good enough to talk to some workmen nearby and he was a great source of knowledge about the local area.
A tremendous holiday and there is nothing negative I can say about the property. We will certainly try and re-book if we come this way again.

Holiday Villa near Coursan
My wife and I spent a lovely week in this very quiet villa which is about two miles from the local village of Coursan. When we arrived we were met by a very nice English gentleman (Mike) who showed us around the villa and instructed us on where to find every thing. There was a welcome pack which was much appreciated. It was late in the holiday season and this may be the reason why the interior of the house looked a little tired but comfortable. Lovely views overlooking the vineyards from our bedroom window. There were a large selection of bikes in the large garage along with a dart board and table tennis equipment. I enjoyed going for a ride early in the morning along the path that ran for miles alongside the river and vineyards. The weather was hot and sunny which made the swimming pool and loungers on the large terrace very inviting. All in all a very enjoyable holiday the villa more suited to a larger group of people than a couple.

La Favette July/August 2010
Fantastic villa - really spacious, well equipped, well maintained comfortable living areas and bedrooms. Lovely modern kitchen and fabulous downstairs wet room. The swimming pool is great, a good, decent size and depth and with generous sun bathing terraces. Overall a thoroughly relaxing location, pleasantly remote - but close enough to amenities for food shopping, fresh bread (and pizza)!
Lovely outside setting for meals under the parasol in some welcome shade. Views over the vineyards to the Pyrenees in the distance were truly delightful in the evening, with a box of the local wine. All this recalling has reminded us of what we're missing! Still, there's always next year. Highly, highly recommended.

Just Fantastic - Best Holiday Ever
The title says it all , this holiday was simply the best weve had as a family. The house is amazing with lots of room inside and out. Everything you need is there which makes for a very comfortable time and the pool area is great to chil around and i promise you the kids will love it. There is a music system with speakers built in around the pool area and we spent a lot of time just chilling with music playing ( its quite remote so no neighbours to annoy , so great ) and messing about in pool etc. We dragged the b b q round to the pool and also the table tennis table .
The house is set down a long rural lane and is totally on its own - but is within the little town of coursan which is fine to nip to for any bits you need shopping wise as there are 2 supermarkets . We found we were quite well located for trips out and about sight seeing etc - with good roads all around and found quite a lot to do within 1-2 hour drives.
We flew to montpellier airport and found the house very easy to find which only took 1 hour .
I could go on and on about how great this house is and how nice the area is but if you book up and visit you will appreciate how good it is for yourselves and im sure you will have a fantastic holiday.
