The spacious kitchen opens to a sun-drenched dining and great room, literally surrounded by windows overlooking the sea and comfortably accommodating large gatherings of family and friends. Hardwood floors and hushed earth tones blend with the natural beauty in which this home is set. Preparing gourmet meals will be a delight. We enjoyed our stay at the house for the most part. The location of the house is great. However, there are a few things that were missing:
- no bath soap or hair product dispensers as seen in other rental properties
- very little toilet paper and paper towels provided
- not enough bath towels
- the bathrooms had partially filled hand soap bottles (couldn’t they have been refilled)?
- the pictures of the gym and golf simulator were nothing like they really looked - both smelled musty, and both were dirty
- the gym equipment is old
- the golf simulator didn’t work properly; the property manager didn’t know how to work it anyway
- the entry level smelled musty
- no dish towels in the kitchen
- the dishwasher smelled awful, even after we used it
- the pool filter was not working well (per the pool guy)
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but we feel the rental price was high, considering the things written above.

This home is located on a beautiful stretch of beach perfect for a family vacation. The house has a layout that makes it comfortable for a large group of people to easily gather and also have spots for quiet time. The kitchen is incredibly stocked with all you need. The pool is a lovely option for when we were ready for a break from the sand and to stay close to home when kiddos were napping. I very much appreciated the personal interaction with the local property managers who did a walk-through during check-in and quickly took care of any minor issues that came up. Although I was a bit nervous with lag time in the communication before we arrived, once we were there, response time was within minutes. They really made us feel welcomed and taken care of.
Something that could use improvement is the lower level where the gym and golf game are located. They had a strong mildew/mold smell that made us not want to use it.
I understand the damp beach location presents challenges in this arena, but perhaps something else can be done to help? I noticed some previous comments noting the grill was so dirty is wasn't usable, but I believe they replaced it recently and supplied good cleaning tools, so we used it regularly and it worked great.

The property location is ideal away from the crowd. The ocean is right outside the property and access to and from the beach is perfect. The property is somewhat dated but we spent the vast majority of our time at the beach. The property manager is amazing and very informative. I would definitely come back.

The house and its amenities were exactly as advertised. No surprises. The extra touches provided by the owner were much appreciated. This was a perfect setting for a large (11) family vacation. The house, with its many levels, provided plenty of privacy if needed. The hosts were exceptional in giving out information and answering any questions we had. It was a fantastic week. *The only negative would be that the grill was pretty nasty and had to be CLEANED before use.*

This home is ideal for all ages to vacation together. The elevator allows those with limited mobility to fully participate indoors and out, and assists with everyone being able to bring in / out luggage. The pool was perfect, especially on late October evenings. We were impressed with the well-stocked kitchen. Having linens provided and already on beds was truly appreciated. Loved having a pack n play and high chair. The baths are good, too, for kids and older family members. Hosts are very responsive. We were delighted that hurricane Ian 3 weeks prior to our stay did minimal damage to the beach access steps AND that it was repaired prior to our arrival. Great vacation in a beautiful home with exceptional hosts.

The house was exactly as listed and the communication with the owners was seamless. It was right after hurricane Ian so we had some concerns, but the owners sent pictures and communicated with us right away. The also provided help with a chef and clear and proper directions. We would def rent this property again if we came back to ocean isle! Thanks for the great family vacation!

GREAT FAMILY VACATION!
This house provided EVERYTHING we needed and more! The thing that brought us the most joy was seeing out 90-year old mother enjoying most of every day on the upper porch… the great beach view, the breeze, watching the children play in the water and sand, the dolphins in the ocean, and the deer and red foxes in the dunes! 😳 She didn’t have to miss a thing even though she has limited mobility! The kitchen is well-stocked. Bedrooms are very comfortable. Beach towels are an added bonus! Lots of beach and pool toys. Abundant amount of beautiful and comfortable deck furniture! Golf simulator was a real hit with the golfers! Two large and one small refrigerator were super convenient! A short walk across the street leads to beautiful sunsets!!! The unobstructed view down the strand is phenomenal! Property manager, Dean, and her husband, David, were amazing! They were so helpful before we even got there, and were available to answer questions, make recommendations/suggestions, and take care of our few needs right away! I can’t say enough about how great they are!! (Be sure to visit their art gallery, Seascape Designs, while you’re in the area.)

Awesome to be oceanfront
Great property right on the beach. The pool is on the smaller side, but the deck location is fantastic. Plenty of shade to end the day relaxing pool side and our two young children loved it. Restaurants are a bit of a drive so we cooked 5 times and the grill and kitchen worked great for our group. One tip, the low tide draws back pretty far, so review the tides chart if want you like to sit both under an umbrella and right up close to the water. Much easier to do that around high tide.

Nice house, great location on the beach
Nice house. Small pool but great for little kids. We had 5 grandkids ages 1-5. 6 bathrooms sounded great until we found only one bathtub. Ocean Isle is sorely in need of more restaurants. 60-90 minute wait each time we went out. Ocean Isle has very nice beaches - long and flat. Beach at our end wasn't very crowded compared to closer in. Living room, kitchen and 2 BR/BA on the 3rd floor wasn't clear from the website. Initially it seemed awkward but ultimately it worked out fine. Elevator was a life saver during check-in and check-out.

Wonderful location, property, and property management
The Property: Clean, great layout and enough space to comfortably fit a large family or (in our case) two families with a total of 10 people - could have comfortably fit 2 - 4 more too. Kitchen was well stocked and loved the two backup refrigerators to keep extra beverages cold. The arcade unit was also a HUGE hit with us - especially on the 1 - 2 rainy days we had.
Location: We've stayed all over OIB and generally have felt the further west you get, the better. However, with the tides changing and dunes fading on the west end, I actually think this property has about the best location you can get. Close enough to the private gated area that the beach wasn't crowded, but far enough away from the west end to still have sufficient beach at high tide.
Property Management: Outstanding. Provided sheets/towels at no extra cost (most properties don't do this); answered all questions within a few hours and even let us walk through some of her other properties (which we already booked for next summer). Owners also clearly care about these properties and invest in updating the decorations and maintaining the appearance.

Ideal home for an OIB family vacation...
We stayed at this property for our annual Labor Day beach trip, and it was fantastic! OIB has everything for a great family vacation, and the house location was great. Beach access is so convenient and close that we did not need to take a beach wagon or cart. The views (both from the house and the decks) were great with lots of natural light in the house. The pool is small, but it was perfect for our kids (ages 6-13). The property manager, Shay, was very responsive and great to work with. We are strongly considering renting this home again.

Beautiful home and location
Loved staying at this property, perfect location. Space was beautiful. We really didn't require much from the property manager so minimal communication except the day we were leaving right as we were getting ready to leave our car wouldn't start so I texted him to let him know and the response text was "just move your car for the cleaners" I worked with many a managers and travel extensively I've read the other reviews about the manager but my experience was definitely not that great.

Hurricane Isaias got the best of us.
We had this property rented since February and were so excited to stay oceanfront. The hurricane came in and eliminated all possibility of us having a vacation as the island closed for that week. However, the property manager, Shay Godwin was OUTSTANDING. She was kind, professional, sympathetic even apologizing for something beyond anyone’s control. We look forward to working with Shay in the future for our family of 14 vacations. If you can book a home she manages, you won’t be disappointed. She’s a diamond in the rough.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is at the end of ocean isle and not as crowded on the beach. The pool was a little smaller than we had expected but otherwise it was great!

Perfect location right on the beach
What a great stay at this oceanfront property. The kitchen was very well stocked with all cooking supplies you will need. We cooked all meals but one. Be sure to check the pantry before you go to the store. There were several things like aluminum foil, sandwich bags, coffee filters, etc. There was also a ton of cabinet space to store your groceries. There are a few beach items to be used (chairs, boogie boards, pool tubes). Management was very responsive. Thanks Shay!

What a wonderful property-just as listed on the website...wonderful communication with Shay (property manager) but truly no real issues. Well equipped kitchen, great family space and private bedroom areas. We were 5 adults and 3 small children who all enjoyed the week. Electronics (sadly a key issue) was over the top..thanks for the DVR access-a real plus!
