About this cottage rental
At Gerrie’s Place1 you will experience the Rural Life in an Urban Area. Located on a Llama Ranch! At Gerrie’s Place1 you have a private entrance, a private fenced yard, and a private cottage. We welcome everyone. (but please remember, Gerrie's Place1 is not set up for parties or social gatherings - only registered guests are allowed in this quiet cottage!) Gerrie’s Place1 is designed with ADA specs in mind. We have tried to remove barriers and make Gerrie’s Place 1 more accessible. We also welcome your well behaved, house trained dogs. (Dogs must be crated if unattended ... no cats) We are a wonderful location for dining, sports events, tourist attractions, shopping malls, Metro and more. Suburb of Houston Texas. When you are at Gerrie's Place1, we welcome you to take a tour of the ranch and meet the animals up close. You can see them from your LARGE covered back porch and your windows. In fact, a llama, a sheep, a tortoise, and a pot bellied pig live in your back yard. To experience more, a tour is available and must be scheduled ahead of time. If you are staying for more than 1 night at Gerrie's Place1, your tour is discounted. All tours must be scheduled in advance. You do not casually walk around on your own. There is a gift shop on site with Handmade Llama Fiber Rugs, (like what you will use in Gerrie's Place1), Felted Llama Soap (like what you will use in Gerrie's Place1), and more llama/alpaca related items. (nothing is killed in the making of these beautiful items). Gerrie's Place1 is a wonderful location for all your eating and entertainment needs. On this rode alone (Mueschke Rd.), we have quite a few restaurants and bars. Gerrie's Place is close to the Houston Premium Outlets. There are other shopping locations .... Memorial City Mall, Willowbrook Mall, The Galleria, Old Town Spring. Entertainment includes: Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Dave & Buster's, Topgolf, Wet'n'Wild SplashTown, Space Center Houston, Houston Zoo, Texas Renaissance Festival, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Children's Museum of Houston, Houston Museum District, Downtown Aquarium, Houston, Kemah Boardwalk, Galveston Texas, San Jacinto Monument, San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, & Battleship of Texas and much more. Robin is the perfect host, so thoughtful! She had some great recommendations of places to visit and eat in the area and surrounding small towns. We had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend; coffee in the morning, plenty of hot water for showers, plus the bed was so comfortable, it's been awhile since I've slept that well. My sister and I enjoyed every minute, especially sitting on the porch, watching the animals throughout their day. We didn't want to leave, but felt we made new friends and will definitely return!

The cabin was absolutely perfect for our weekend stay. Everything was extremely clean and well stocked. Wally the goat kept me company while I drank my coffee on the front porch. Will definitely return if in the area again.

We have stayed in many vacation rentals but this is the best. Our short stay was awesome, peaceful & calm. Ruby & Robin are great Host. Loved listening to The Rooster in the morning & talking to Gods Creatures early in the morning. They definitely will bring joy to your heart. It’s a bit of heaven on earth. Pet friendly, very, very clean & comfortable. Will definitely keep coming, back.

Such a great property! Absolutely loved staying here and knowing our stay helps to contribute to their cause is icing on the cake! Sitting on the front porch and feeding a few treats to the animals was a perfect start to the day! Robin came over and told me about the animals and their efforts on Figment Ranch and I was in awe. Robin, thank you for all the lil touches that made our stay perfect! Hope to be back soon!

My husband and I had an amazing stay! It was so lovely to wake up in the morning and look out at the animals in the back yard. The accommodations were clean and had everything you could need! The hosts were friendly and thoughtful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone!

Gerrie’s place Is fully autonomous. The entire yard and apartment is fenced in with a locking gate, and there is a small front porch and a large back deck. Just beyond the deck there is a pasture with animals - llamas, Wally the goat, chickens, turkeys, sheep, pigs, and a multitude of flying birds - I counted 15 cardinals one day. Each of these animals comes to the deck to get treats that they eat right out of your hand. They are really fun to watch, and they will make you laugh. It is a lovely, calming place. The owners - Robin, Ruby, and Sean couldn’t be nicer or friendlier. I spent a month there, but I could live there forever. ❤️

We came down on a surprise trip for my girlfriend’s birthday. Robin was so helpful in setting up our stay and the 1:1 llama experience and tour. My girlfriend was beside herself when we arrived and there were llamas in the yard. She thought we’d just get a basic tour of the grounds and couldn’t believe that Robin spent so much time teaching about the the animals and training us to help with the llamas.
We had such an amazing time with all the animals and my girlfriend hasn’t stopped talking about the trip since we left.
Robin was an amazing host and Gerrie’s place was comfortable and a perfect weekend home.
You owe it to yourself to check out the ranch and schedule a tour!!

It is so entertaining and relaxing watching and hearing the various animals getting along on the ranch. Llamas, alpacas, pigs, turtles, ducks, emus, turkeys, chickens, sheep and goats, just to name a few. The owners are like extended family to us.

Neat place to get away for a few days. Allows multiple dogs with no size or breed restrictions and that allowed me to bring my pups with me for the trip. The rental was convenient to the places I wanted to go around cypress and it provided a unique experience. Robin was friendly and provided a warm welcome along with information about the location and animals there. I loved sitting out on the porch and seeing all of the different animals nearby. This was a clean, calm and relaxing place to stay. Robin had taken great care to provide all the items you need To make your stay comfortable. It worked perfectly for my needs and I plan to return for future visits!

Gerrie’s Place 1 - Rescue Llama Ranch
I had the best time here. The place is really magical, peaceful and so serene. You have animals right in your backyard! They each have their own story of how they came to be at this rescue ranch. You can sit on your lovely covered back porch in one of the comfy rockers and just watch all the animals or stand on the porch and pet or feed the animals. Every morning I got up and went out to the porch and was greeted by the entire menagerie wanting treats. Robin, the owner provides some treats but I also brought some with me. The animals were all very friendly. The cottage was super-cute and spotless. Robin and Ruby (owners) were both as personable and helpful as could be, yet they weren’t intrusive. They have a really cute gift shop on the property that has very unique and hand made items. I bought a rug and a poncho made from alpaca fur. The proceeds from the gift shop and room rental fees go to the care of the animals so it’s a win/win. If you’re thinking about going, don’t think about it, just go. You’ll have an amazing time there!

Gerrie’s place was warm and inviting. Robin was a very welcoming host and made sure all of our needs were met! The house was clean, spacious, and ready for us to enjoy the weekend!

Our stay at Gerrie’s Place 1
Robin, Ruby & Sean were the best hosts! So friendly and always checked in to make sure we were comfortable and having fun. Robin taught us so much in the long weekend that we were there. She even gave us the best recommendations for places to eat around town and fun places we should visit!
I highly recommend signing up for the one on one llama experience! We had the best time learning and getting to know our llamas one on one! We even got to stop in the gift shop and purchase a few handmade llama souvenirs!
The place was everything we could’ve asked for. It was clean, cozy, safe, and had everything we needed and more for our long weekend stay!
Every morning my friend and I got up to feed our animals in the front yard and bonded with every single one of them. We enjoyed how excited they were when we greeted them on the porch with a handful of carrots and some treats! We’re gonna miss our furry friends.
We look forward to returning to Gerrie’s place as soon as possible! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect getaway for my 22nd birthday!

2nd Time
This was the second time I stayed at Gerrie’s Place. I had just sold my home and needed a place to stay temporarily until my new place was ready. I had passed Figment Ranch many times and always wondered about it. This was more than I imagined! What started out as just a place to stay turned into my home-away-from-home. I felt like family as I came back! Robin and Ruby were great at reading people. They were discreet but open at the same time. I would get a text to be sure I made it in comfortably and didn’t need anything and they always came by to say hi when I was sitting on the porch!
I also wanted to mention how comfortable and cool the bedroom was. The AC was perfect and kept a quiet rumble in case you didn’t want to hear the rooster;) I personally did! I especially liked the fresh cut roses in the kitchen window when I arrived.
The animals, of course, were I highlight for f my morning and evenings. They had plenty of treats but for still felt the need to get a few extra carrots and apples when I went to the store!
If you are not from the area, everything is located close by. I preferred to grocery shop but there are plenty of restaurants and fast food near the mall. This was truly a bit of ranch life hidden in the suburbs!
