About this house rental
La Maison Cuisinier, Haut de Cagnes rental home is a wonderful home with refreshing pool. It is particularly suited to those who enjoy cooking and al fresco dining.
Easy access from a small laneway off the village main street. In other words you can unload your car close to the house. After that, you enter through large wooden gates and arrive directly on the terrace with picturesque views beyond. A pretty lemon tree over the refreshing pool dominates this spacious south facing area. Another key point is the outdoor tables and chairs around an impressive outside fireplace, pizza oven and BBQ. In short, they make this a perfect place for dining and entertaining.
Above all, is the refreshing pool (a dipping pool big enough for adults and children but more like a hot tub without jets). In detail, it is heated by the sun, approx 250cm in diameter and 130cm deep. Therefore, perfect for summer months with a chilled glass of rose! Colourful Mediterranean plants and kitchen herbs add colour to the terrace. In conclusion, this holiday home is an ideal place to welcome friends and family during the warmer months.
Ground Level
You leave the terrace and enter directly into the heart of the house – the kitchen. All things considered, this is a total delight for food lovers. Of course, it is not only perfectly equipped but also a comfortable area to hang out. Relax on bar stools with a morning coffee and newspaper, whilst the activities in the house go on around you!
The ground level is open and bright with large, French doors opening onto terraces to the south and east. After that, there is is a corner fireplace with dining area off the kitchen. At last, you have another comfortable seating spot with sofa and leather armchairs opposite the sweeping, wooden staircase to the next level. Apple television is available if you have your own account. In addition, WiFi gives you access to your tablets.
A w.c is available on this level and every other level. The flooring is in original deep red tiles. In contrast, the walls are white with large, sumptuous paintings and charming antique features, such as ornate radiators. Note the sparking chandeliers and decorative candelabras. Air Con is provided in the summer months. However there is a wonderful current of air with the terrace door open if it isn’t too hot.
First Floor
The master bedroom has wooden beams and tiled flooring. In addition it has access to a terrace and it’s own bathroom. Bold paintings line the walls and there is a king-sized bed (180cm) with bedside tables. The bedroom and ensuite bathroom offer a shower and w.c. Similarly, there is air con on this level too.
Second Floor
On the second floor, there is a twin bedroom with two antique wooden beds (90cm). Equally important is a ceiling fan for the warm months, stairs descend directly from the top floor bedroom above. Another key point, there is a w.c. beneath the stairs.
Third Floor
The top floor provides another bedroom accessed through a door at the top of the stairs. This room opens onto a spectacular terrace with sea and roof top view. In addition, there is a table and chairs – a wonderful place to watch the sun go down. The bedroom has a charming, antique double bed (140cm) and ensuite bathroom. In short this has been renovated and has a bath with telephone shower and w.c. Of course, there is air con as this is the warmest room in the house.
Independent Studio
To the right of the main entrance terrace, you will find the doors to an independent studio completely renovated. It offers additional accommodation but with no stairs. In other words, it is well suited to older members of the group with walking restrictions. There is a queen-sized bed (160cm), wardrobe, dining table and kitchenette with fridge. The style is simple with tiled floors and there is a ceiling fan for summer. A washing machine is available for guests to use.
La Maison Cuisinier offers a wonderful mix of rich elegance and comfort. Its tasteful choice of antiques and paintings combine with practical design. In conclusion, there is air con provided in the living area, master bedroom and top floor bedroom during the hot months. The kitchen and outside dining area are a rare and total joy for guests who enjoy entertaining and cooking. What better place to find yourself if you love French good and wine? You can pick up fresh produce in the local market only a 5 minute walk away and conjure up culinary delights in the most perfect setting. Don’t forget the refreshing pool – these are a rarity in the village!
The free shuttle bus, which runs from the town to the village every 15 minutes, has a bus stop close to the house (Sous Barri) and a car can stop very close for unloading. Restaurants and cafes are a 5 minute walk away from this Haut de Cagnes rental home. Additionally the town below offers food market, supermarkets, bakeries, chemist, banks and selection of shops. The town is well services with buses going to most places on the Cote d’Azur. There is also a train station. The sea is a 25-30 minute walk and a free beach bus is provided from the town in July and August.
**IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE!
1. Haut de Cagnes is the medieval village of Cagnes sur Mer. It is a charming, perched village on a hill with a Castle on top. We are very lucky that we can walk to restaurants, markets, shops. We have a free, shuttle bus that runs from town to village every 15 minutes and takes 5 minutes. There is a good bus and train service from the town to most places on the Cote d'Azur. That said - if you have walking disabilities or health issues - the medieval village may not be the best choice for you.
2. Haut de Cagnes is one of the few medieval villages that allows cars to drive through it, however cars cannot access all streets and roads are naturally narrow. We do have some free street parking and a paying car parks in the village and in the town below but the summer is a busy time here so some patience is required. YOU DO NOT NEED A CAR HERE as we are within walking distance to so many things and there is a good public transport service. If you choose to bring a car - please note that parking and driving can be stressful on the Cote d'Azur in general over the summer months. You may want to consider renting a car for only part of your journey once you have settled into the village. If you choose to bring a car, I will provide you with maps and parking details.
Please note:
- There is a cleaning fee of 220 euros to pay in cash on arrival and a linen fee of 20 euros per person for those who do not wish to bring their own linens.
- There is a 20 euro fee for check-ins from 21h30-23h (latest) and for check-outs between 6h-7h30 (earliest).

We enjoyed our stay, the villa is in a great location, very steep hills to walk to and from the village or castle. Gorgeous views. Only downside’s were, the ac isn’t as cool as you would hope, the WiFi isn’t veey good, a little mould on a poster in the kitchen, this could easily just be removed. And mostly the property manager came by whilst we Asda done one day without permission or prior warning to look at the pool. We were in communication via text and she didn’t mention she was coming over. I find this an invasion of privacy. Also the neighbours spy on you when you’re outside, so beware. Unfortunately this was a let down for us, we did enjoy our stay and loved the villa

Simply put, this is the most magical, charming, perfectly located, well equipped home one could hope for. The location, ease of access to the village and beaches and the innumerable spaces that the owners have lovingly created for rest and relaxation make this a vacationer’s gem. The views from every one of the many vantage points and terraces are breathtaking. The property manager is lovely and helpful, providing tips and suggestions to enjoy the experience to the fullest. We can’t wait to return!

I can't express how much we appreciated this reset as a family. Cagnes-sur-Mer was perfect for us as a town - great food, a market, a splendid outdoor shopping center (Polygon Riviera), beaches, bakeries, restaurants, and public transportation (we walked to the train station) - yet the house was the true highlight for us. A peaceful place, saturated with well-curated Mediterranean style (including some striking terra cotta floors), splendid views, and many places to relax both inside and outside. We also very much appreciated the dipping pool to cool off on super hot days.

Wonderful location in the historic heart of Cagne-sur-Mer with great view on three floors.
Only a few minutes to the local markets and the ocean.
Kerry-Leigh was a great help in terms of check-in and gave us several great tips about local events. Excellent support and very kind person.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Very recommendable.

Had a great stay, and the apartment is nicely decorated and well equipped. Haut-Cagnes is beautiful and charming. As a small note, renters should be aware that the location is hard to reach with a car (parking outside of the old village at the bottom of the hill), other than that, it was great!

From the moment we walked on to the property, we realized that the photos don't even do it justice. It is relaxing, and quiet, and the views are lovely from everywhere in the house.
We didn't have a car, and certainly didn't need one. The buses and trains were easy and available, and the location was a great central spot to go to a number of different nearby towns.
Kerry-Leigh was very responsive, and so helpful and pleasant to deal with. We will certainly be back!

Our family stayed in this lovely house for a family celebration.
It was two wonderful weeks in charming surroundings.
The house is everything described and more.
The views are spectacular we spent most of our time outside on the terrace and the kids cooling in the pool.
We did cook a lot in the great kitchen and produce fromthe local market was second to none.
We ate out too Le Jimmy's was good and. Le Restaurant Cours down in the town was very nice and reasonably priced.
The village of Haute de Cagnes is special the villagers very friendly and welcoming it was so nice to feel part of it all and not at all like a tourist.
Kelly-Leigh was extremely responsive and helpful to us at all times and gave us lots of tips on what was going on locally.
Loved it all hope to be back soon.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful home. Leigh made the check in/out process was super easy and she was extremely accommodating with recommendations in the area! The Midieval town where this house is nestled is absolutely beautiful and we had so much fun exploring the town as well as nearby Nice, Cannes, Monaco, and other areas by train. You do not need to rent a car which makes the streets super quiet and peaceful. Bonus: there shuttle at the top of the hill that will take you to various areas making your stay even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back!!

This place is amazing, and super cozy. If you are looking for a quiet place to escape and relax, look no further. The first thing you will notice as you enter the main gate is how beautiful the view is, a “wow” moment for sure. There are plenty of places to sit outside with plenty of space. The inside is very clean with great upkeep. The art around the house gives each room its own personality which I really enjoyed. If you like cooking, the kitchen will deliver. When it gets cold at night, the heaters will do their job well.
Kerry was super awesome and friendly, she showed us around the house and provided us with recommendations when visiting the town. Whenever we had some question Kerry was accessible and was glad to help.
I highly recommend this place, it is very peaceful and quite.

This property more than lives up to the description and photos. The views from the terraces are breathtaking! It was very clean and well looked after. The property has everything you need and more, including a well stocked pantry and snorkels to take to the beach! The location is perfect with easy access to the beach, either a 25 minute walk (with children in tow), or a few minutes on the free bus. Nice is only a few miles away if you want the hustle and bustle of a city. However, Cagnes-sur-Mer offers all you need for a wonderful holiday; beautiful pebble beaches, a range of restaurants, Renoir museum and the Chateau Grimaldi - all within walking distance of the property so you don't need a car to stay here. We were a group of 3 adults and 6 children and the property provided ample room for us all. We can't express enough how helpful Kerry-Leigh (the owner's representative) was, from our initial enquiries about the property right through our stay. Kerry-Leigh advised us on suitable airport transfers (Friend in France), and provided a good overview of the village and what was happening the week of our stay. Our stay coincided with the annual boules competition - a wonderful sight to watch - with square boules due to the steep streets! We will definitely stay at this preoperty again!

We are a family of 7 adults and 5 children from 0.5 to 5 years went away in October to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the beautiful Provence. Very successful that we decided on La Maison Cuisiener in Haut de Cagnes. This was the end of the summer season so the nice days it became quite cold evenings. Plenty of room for all of the different floors, with extra space in the annexe. Large, nice kitchen and living room with a central location on the first floor. Much room for more to help with the cooking griddle and cooking island. Since it was not so hot this period so we exploited are not the nice terraces as much as we would have liked. But the indoor space for all of the different meals. Good equipped with showers and toilets. Very nice surroundings with nice views of the mountains and valleys. The narrow, fine and very steep streets was exciting. Good service with Bus 44 runs every 15 minutes almost the entire day and transports people around the Haut de Cagnes, free. If not all the cooking yourself, there are several restaurants on the way up to the top where the Chateau Grimaldi eg available.
We had good contact with Ms. Kerry-Leigh Buckley, whom we thank in particular.
We hope to come back another year, but then a little earlier in the summer.
Au revoir

We stayed a week in this wonderful and very cosy house. Everything was perfect. Plenty of room inside and outside. If you want to cook the kitchen is very well-appointed and you have a food marked within 10 min. Walk. And not to forget you have a marvellous view: mountain, valley and sea. My best recommendations
