No mal, pero no bien tampoco

Tico me recibió bien cuando hice mi check-in. Las personas que trabajaron en el restaurante me atendieron bien. La comida estuvo rica.

Una persona de recepción intentó cobrarme mucho más. También quería que yo pagaría el cobro de Booking.com No había agua caliente en la ducha, ni jabón para lavar mis manos. Había mucho ruido en la habitación a la par mía.

Welcoming and accommodating staff where everyone treats you like a friend.

Great location… friendly, helpful staff. Good air conditioning in the bedroom. Tasty breakfast was included. It’s a great place to surf (or learn to surf), chill and make new friends.

Very poor

I liked the sound of rain in the night. Air-conditioning works great. The staff was wonderful, really. 10 out of 10. That’s probably it.

Honestly, if this place was 30$ per night - it would be ok. But for 70$ per night (that’s with genius discount) - I felt like it was a waste of money, plus I felt like my stay was very unpleasant. The whole territory of this place is ran down. Everything is worn and torn a bit and doesn’t look like rustic cute pictures on the ad. Sheets all had stains on them and other couple in next room said the same. Towels also stained. Toilet paper can’t be flushed - I understand - septic tank, but then don’t charge 70$ per night in that case, position urself as basic amenity. Morning they started loud drilling and banging at 8am and the rest of morning they were pumping I believe septic tank so u sit there try to eat ur breakfast and listen to sounds of ocean - instead u smell sewer and hear generator pumping. Pillows were very uncomfortable and thin. Also full of sand. I would not recommend this place probably.

beautiful place, but expensive for such a basic room

The location is really beautiful, right in a bay. you have a small pool, and the beach right next to you. The restaurant has nice food (breakfast sandwish has proper european bread !)

I ordered a family room by accident, while we are a couple. It had 4 single beds and curtains where you can see through. Since our room was on the ground floor, and there was a couch outside, people would hang there and look straight into our room all the time. Very little privacy … Our room was super basic as well (many of the other rooms seemed a lot nicer), so overall I felt like we paid a lot for what we got. There was never anyone at the reception. There was 1 very hardworking waiter in the restaurant who seemed to fix everything, but since that didn’t feel like it was his job, i felt bad every time i needed to ask anything

Three great nights in Zonte!

I had a super nice view from my room which made the whole experience of the stay. A lovely ocean view balcony. The place is quite rustic but with a nice vibe, great location and friendly staff.

Superb

Super relaxed and cozy environment. Only sunday was relatively busy due to local tourism. Owner and staff are very friendly and always happy to help. Quite big property with lot's of different areas equiped with hammocks to relax

room was pretty bare/minimal, looks like maybe a bit of water damage on the ceiling, dogs on the property sat on benches and lounge chairs affecting our pet allergies pretty significantly.

Awesome staff, delicious food, 100% would recommend.

The staff was incredibly accommodating. The owner Alex made us feel like we were family. We loved the guest reserved upper deck with hammocks and yoga mats. We also enjoyed the restaurant patio and additional chairs on the lower deck overlooking the surf. The property also hosts the office for El Zonte School, making it so easy to book an El Salvadorean excursion at a reasonable price.

Superb

I was not expecting what I got from this hotel (in a good way). This was essentially a beach bungalow hotel. Very, very chill vibes. Hammocks everywhere. Great restaurant with lots of options. Very short walk to the beach. It was paradise honestly. No fancy decorations or facilities; this place is for relaxing in nature.

Awesome Esencia Nativa

There are so many things to like about Esencia Nativa. The owner Alex is an amazing guy. A true ambassador for all that is beautiful about El Sal. The staff is super friendly. Service incredible.The location is the best in El Zonte for surfers looking to have both the right point and the rivermouth A-frame within 100 yards from your hammock. Family feel, fantastic food, laid back vibes, surf lessons, boards, ping pong, music... I'd move in tomorrow if I could.

If I have to pick something it would be that there is not hot water for shower, etc.

The gravitational pull of the sea will make you want to stay forever

We loved Esencia. wonderful location, staff and food. the proximity to the water is amazing. so wonderful to hear the ocean all day and night. super chill and welcoming. It is a basic property but we found it to meet all of our needs. I wish we would have booked for longer. we didn’t want to leave.

My only critique would be the pillows. as an older traveler I need a bit of neck support.

Pleasant

It was beach front so great location and the breakfast was nice. They also refill your water bottles which was nice. The staff are helpful and my boyfriend recommended the surfing lessons booked through the hotel.

I think it was expensive for the room we had, also you don’t have much privacy as it was only curtains to stop people seeing into our room. I think personally the room didn’t meet the photos of the room on Booking.com.

Amazing stay!

The owner, Alex, was amazing. My son is a surfer and went with his friends. Surf was very close and staff was exceptional

Great chill place!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always delicious and love the atmosphere of the place surrounded by lots of trees. Room was spacious, clean and nice. Very calm and chill vibe, great place to relax.

Very nice hostel at a 4*Hotel price

The location was great! It has a nice hostel feel. Our room with sea view was quite big and had a little terrace. It has good housekeeping service every day.

The staff was not particularly friendly. You pay the price of 4* hotel elsewhere in El Salvador to have the facilities of a hostel, but this is probably generally true for El Zonte (for example for 100+$ per night you would expect a hot shower). There was a construction at the hotel which nobody informed us beforehand. The noise started some days as early as 7h30am and made it very difficult to relax when at the hotel.

nice chilled location, within easy reach of the beach, very friendly staff, the top hammock deck is a hidden surprise.

overall it was ok, maybe the toilet can be better.
