Located on the desirable ocean side of Marathon , Casa Del Sol is a beautiful waterfront estate situated on a vast and very private corner lot. The interior includes a new gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and premium dual fuel appliances. An old world charm is captured through the use of arches and stone columns. All rooms, including bedrooms and baths are large, airy, and sun drenched.
On the second floor, at either end of the house, are two master bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Each master bedroom extends out onto beautiful covered balconies which overlook the waterfront. There is a third bedroom with king size bed as well as a fourth bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. These last two bedrooms share a full bathroom. Additionally there is a Pack and Play as well as a crib available for our guests.
On the ground floor, in addition to the chef's kitchen and dining room, there is an expansive living room with comfortable seating for all { at least a dozen } . Also on the ground floor there are private living quarters to include a bedroom with king bed, a kitchenette , a full bathroom , and a beautiful living room. This suite may be accessed from within the house or by way of a private outdoor entrance on the covered porch. There are NO stairs to climb !
The "Fish Room " offers an OPTIONAL 6th bedroom , and is detached from the house and situated on the waterfront overlooking the dock. This private space includes a bedroom with a king size bed as well as a full bathroom. The main house is only licenced for 12 guests ---- adding the "Fish Room" increases the capacity to 14 guests. The rate of the "Fish Room " for the week is $950 plus tax and cleaning { $1293.75 total } . The floors throughout the house and Fish Room are laid with a rustic travertine marble. ONLY guests registered at Casa Del Sol for the week can stay in the Fish Room.
A large brick patio and pool area on the water side overlook 250' of dock space. A covered barbecue area with built in appliances to include a DCS premium gas grill, power burner, Big Green Egg smoker, and sink are surrounded by mature landscaping. Propane gas is piped directly to the grilling area, so there is no need for propane tanks and the hassle associated with them. There are tables and chairs on the porch providing lots of space for outdoor dining. An inviting setting for family and friends of all ages.
There is ample room in our driveway to park four or five cars as well as a boat trailer. The dock is large enough for several boats and is equipped with a fish cleaning station as well as a bait freezer.

Jim and Tudor were very responsive to questions we asked before and during our trip. We were very pleased with the location of the house and its size. We had plenty of space for our large group. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked, and there are plenty of towels. We saw manatees our last evening, which was exciting for all of us! The driveway was large enough to accommodate 4 rental cars easily.
We were disappointed by the lack of responsiveness of the property manager upon our arrival. She arrived at the house to greet us and said “text me if you need anything, and if I don’t respond give me a call.” When she didn’t respond to text messages after three hours I called her, only to find her voice mailbox was full and no messages could be left. That was on day two of our week-long trip. She never got back with me.
We were further disappointed by the repairs that are needed at the house. Doorknobs fell off in our hands, and there were several broken lounge chairs by the pool. There was a broken cot that was unusable. There are two dryers in the laundry room. Only one works. We understand wear and tear happens at rental properties, but for the amount of money being charged to rent the home for a week, our expectations were not met.

Perfect location for fishing. Very close to 7mile bridge-making easy access to both Atlantic & Gulf side. 10 minute cruise to big water which was good down time ride home after long day on water. Easy access to several restaurants by boat including Sparky’s in Key Colony.

The property is as listed, ideal location. Owners were fantastic to work with and helpful. The home needs some small updates, but overall this property is worth the investment. We would consider returning if we have a larger group again. We hosted our children and grandchildren, and the layout is very accommodating to a larger family. The owners are great!

12 of us stayed at this property and we really don’t have any complaints maybe just tips. The owners are sweet people who are happy to share this home. I always leave places we stay at in the same condition we found it in, so housekeeping isn’t left our mess and can go about their job. There is plenty of space, the dock is great. Every couple having their own bathroom is such a nice thing. The pool isn’t an Olympic size but it was perfect to cool off in and for the kids to play. There is plenty of parking and the location is excellent. We did have to replenish supplies like paper products and dish soap, but we were not bothered by that. All rental homes have requirements so we made sure to follow them all and enjoyed our time. The only thing that was a little difficult was washing towels before we left with check out at 9:00am. Everyone had to get up early to be able to shower and then get the towels washed dried and folded then out by 9:00 but we did it! I understand why it’s that way so the house can be turned over by 4:00, so if you plan accordingly the night before you check out, the morning will go smooth. We rented kayaks and a pontoon, fished, and had a manatee visit us. The beach was a short bike ride and that’s what it’s all about, fun in the sun!

Needed a large home for a week near a great beach for a "Keys wedding". Comfortable sleeping set-up for our 4 grandkids 2 sets of parents, and 4 grandparents. Sombrero Beach is 5 minutes away and very kid friendly. Jim and Tudor are great hosts.

We had a large group and this place had ample room. We did not feel crowed at all and plenty of cozy areas to relax and enjoy the keys at its finest! Plenty of dockage for our boat as well. Close to everything you could want to do and shopping, dining, you name it. Property manager and readily available at all times and very accommodating. Would definitely go back!

The house easily accommodated three brothers and our families. Liked the open first floor layout to see what everyone was doing. Outdoor kitchen was great. We have stayed at the property 2 years in a row with friends and family and the accommodations have always been outstanding! We are a fishing bunch, and the location and dock space are an important part to our trip. This location does not disappoint in that aspect! The kitchen and outdoor grill area are perfect to cook and feed our big group. The rooms are large and offer plenty of space to relax and unwind after a day of fishing. We rented the house plus the extra fish house for a week. The owners and property manager were very responsive leading up to our visit, during check in, during our stay, and at check out. Everyone in the party had plenty of space, comfort, and enjoyed their time. It was great to have the extra fridge space in the side room and outdoor kitchen where we stored a cooler for drinks to allow more room for food in fridges. Even though the pool seemed smaller than expected, it worked perfectly for the number of people allowed in the house. We brought our own kayaks and enjoyed taking them out thru the canals in the evenings. There was ample dock space and even good fishing off the dock in the evenings. Had a decent week fishing in the ocean, too. Morning time was great for watching tarpon activity and random manatee sightings from the dock. While the afternoon seemed to be the more consistent time to see manatees go thru the canal. Overall, great experiences were had by all and we certainly will look at this house again for future vacations in Marathon! Thank you for sharing your home!

Certainly one of the best vacation rental properties we have ever stayed in. The house was huge and beautiful and the outside was lush and tropical. All the bedrooms and baths accommodated our family of 12 perfectly. Lots of room for everyone in the main living and dining area and large kitchen. Nice laundry room and outside kitchen were great extras. The pool was perfect for the children and boys enjoyed fishing in the canal. The property seems very well kept and loved. Owners were very communicative and helpful with instructions. We would recommend this property to all.

This is a wonderful vacation property! The home is spacious enough to accommodate everyone, even wit a large group. but still allow quiet alone moments. This is the first rental we have stayed at that had more than enough chairs both inside and out for enjoying the pool, the balcony views or just an evening movie. The location is perfect as it is further back on the canal system so less boat traffic, no sea grass or odor and calm waters for us to enter for paddle boarding. The home also offers great privacy since it is at the end of the road and at an angle with ample space between the houses next door. It is also conveniently located about a mile from a grocery store. It was nice for our older guests to have the bedrooms on the first floor so they did not have to climb many stairs during their stay. We created so many memories while there. and will never forget this beautiful home. This is the first house we have rented where there was an immediate and unanimous request from all to return. We certainly do hope to get back in the near future.
In addition, Gina was so very helpful. She met us on arrival and made sure everything was up to our standards. She responded quickly to any issue we had while we stayed there for 3 weeks. The owners were very quick to respond to my emails and booking process.

The location is very convenient to airports, grocery, the beach, playground and the Gulf and ocean. The dockage is an added plus, we kept our 42' and 26' there with room to spare. The layout if the house gave our 5 families ample common areas yet very private separate living quarters. The kitchen is extremely well supplied with everything a large group could need or want for simple or gourmet meals and the outdoor kitchen was great.
The outdoor living space was great.
The hosts were very responsive.
In short, we all enjoyed our stay and would definately come again.

Tudor and Jim are great! They handled any issues right away. The house is excellent for Multiple Families traveling together. There is private space for everyone to spread out and a huge open areas to gather together in. It is a fantastic Traditional Florida House very comfortable and lived-in style, great for families. We all felt right at home. It is a great Florida vibe, plenty of room for the boat, huge dock. Lots of room outside to play in the sun. Pool is smaller, (typical Fl Keys size) but plenty of space for kids to play or adults to relax in. We had a fantastic time would definitely book again !

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the property. Plenty of room for our 4 families ranging in age from 9 months to +65! We could all be together at the large dining table or spread out in the different “conversation” areas. Hosts were very helpful with any questions but not intrusive. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Loved the heated pool and outside spaces for relaxing. The only comment I would make is that the clothes dryer takes FOREVER! Plan on a couple of hours to dry a load of towels. We loved the property, location, and Florida sunshine! Thank you for sharing your lovely home . We would love to visit your VRBO aim Maine some day!

We travelled with 12 adults, mostly couples, for vacation. The house is in a perfect location for beach access, shopping, local attractions, and water access. The kitchen and living area is very spacious and had all that we needed for dishes, and appliances. There were a few simple items addressed to our satisfaction with the owners at check in. Owners, Jim and Tudor were always available to communicate with.
We couldn't have asked for better weather and enjoyed the heated pool. We enjoyed the outdoor cooking available.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay. If I had any negative comments, the house needs some updating as far as furniture, lighting, minor repairs, but Jim and Tudor are aware and took our comments seriously.
We would rent from them again in the future.

We had an amazing time, their could be some updates for sure. But very roomy and they were quick to reply if we had questions. The outside kitchen was amazing. The pool was an added bonus so to say it could be larger I think would be not appropriate. My family rented a boat I think this is a total must to see the Beauty of Marathon. We saw Manatees. Got to hold Star fish when we docked on the sand bars. The guys went fishing and were over the top excited.

Fish On the line and on the grill
We had a great trip and experience, with 12 adults and plenty of space both inside and out. Bedding was comfortable and plenty of hot water. We used the outdoor kitchen area several times for steaks, ribs on the smoker and fish on the skillet and grill.
We have been coming to the keys for 22 years now for our annual fishing adventure and we are already booking this again for next year. Great location and owners were very responsive, while we usually have minimal needs.
Only opportunity we had was with not having enough freezer space. We had some stellar days of fishing Tuna and Mahi, along with grouper, snapper, and wahoo. Needless to say we will have great memories of our trip with many fish meals over the coming months.
