Bring your children and pets to enjoy your vacation at our lovely spacious Whispering Sands Cottage. Watch the sunrise on the Gulf of Mexico from the deck or walk 2 blocks to the beach for a panoramic view from the fishing pier. Have coffee, read a book or just relax on a swing on our new front porch.
This gulf view cottage was built in 2008 after Hurricane Katrina destroyed the original house in August 2005.
The decor of this cottage will make you feel right at home. The Master bedroom has a poster bed and it's own private bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds. The couch folds out for an additional queen bed, and there is a rollaway if you need a extra bed. All bedrooms have TVs.
This cottage has a large living room with flat screen TV. Hardwood floors . The kitchen has been updated with stainless steel appliances and ceramic tile flooring and is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. The laundry has a stack washer and dryer. The deck has a gas grill and overlooks the park with a view of the water. The new front porch has table and chairs, porch swing and comfortable furniture for relaxing.
The cottage is easily accessible with 4 entry steps. There are grab bars in the main bath and comfort hight commodes.
Bring up to 2 pets for free and walk them in the park across the street which features walking paths, children's playground equipment and a splash pad water feature to cool off on those hot summer days. If you want to exercise the community center is across the street to the north with a full fitness center open to the public.
We have many championship golf courses on the coast. The new aquarium is open across from Jones Park 1 1/2 miles east on Beach Blvd. There are 12 casinos (Island View Casino is 3 blocks away), Charter fishing boats, Schooner sailings, Great restaurants and Oyster Bars, or take the Ship Island Excursion Boat and enjoy the white sand beaches and crystal clear waters of the barrier islands.
Children will love the park with the splash pad and the beach, or take them to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, Gulf Islands Water Park, The Center for Marine Education and Research, or on the Shrimp Boat Excursion where dolphins jump along side the boat most days.
If you want to take a day trip New Orleans is just 80 miles away. Take the scenic route (Hwy 90) and see the Old Fort and nature up close ( you might just see an alligator in the road).

Nice clean place to stay. Host was great. Lots of games and movies. Most everything needed for home away from home. Kids enjoyed the slash pad across the road. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

We chose this property because of the cost and the fact that there was supposed to be a HOT TUB— our main attraction. When we arrived, the housekeeper was still cleaning the house- she allowed me to come in and see the inside — it was fair but did not meet my expectations. There was NOT a hot tub! A few cats were running around the property which I was not going to deal with. It was an older home that really needs updating. I spoke to the owner and voiced my concerns. She asked me to notify VRBO & I would get 100% refund, which I received. She stated that she never advertised that there was a hot tub— but it is clearly stated that there was a hot tub under amnenities/attractions.

The house is perfectly located and the inside feels very cozy. The owner is next door but it still feels very private. We loved the porch especially since it rained most of the time we were there, so it made for at atmospheric place to kick back. The kitchen is fully stocked, you can seriously cook a whole meal in there. But bring your own wooden cutting board! Would definitely stay here again.

It was a short stay, but we very much enjoyed ourselves. The house had everything anyone could need and more. It was close to the beach, making it easy to take breaks, return to the house for meals and drink refills, reapply sunscreen, and more.
The house was easy to maintain. The full-size appliances made cooking for six plus three guests a breeze. The neighborhood was quiet, and the park across the street was great for the kids. The splash pad at the park provided additional water play options beyond the beach.
We had a great 3-day weekend stay. It was relaxing for the adults and lots of fun for the kids.

We had a nice stay at the cottage. It is very close to the beach but, the gulf view from the cottage is really small. Most of the piers in the area are closed due to damage, but still the overall stay was nice. The home is quant and clean.

We came down for Jeepin the Coast. The house was in a very convenient location. Nancy was quick to respond and made checking in very easy. She left us brownies for our arrival. The house was very clean and comfortable. I really appreciate that she allowed our pets. Everything you could ever need is provided. Spices, games, beach toys, movies and more. We hope be back next year.

The Whispering Sands Cottage exceeded my expectations and came incredibly close to being the perfect place I had imagined. It offered the ideal size for our group, and its exceptional pet-friendly policy was a significant advantage. Moreover, we were delighted to find the cottage in impeccable cleanliness upon our arrival.
The front porch of the cottage provided a wonderful spot to relax in the evenings, either sitting or swinging, while catching up with each other. The layout of the front parlor and kitchen was well thought out and allowed for seamless integration of activities such as cooking, dining, and socializing. The cottage was adorned with charming furnishings that created a cozy and familiar atmosphere, truly making it feel like a home away from home. Additionally, the beach was conveniently located just a block away, making it easily accessible for mesmerizing sunsets or invigorating sunrises. Highly Recommended!

Clean, comfortable and cozy! The house is bigger than it looks-plenty of room for relaxing, and comfortable seating/beds. The host is sweet as can be, and my crew looked the brownies! We would stay there again! Thank you for a delightful stay!

Property was just as advertised and the communication with owner was excellent. Not only is there a vacant lot next door, which is nice, but it opens up a view to the Gulf about 2 blocks away.

Restful vacation
We normally try to leave a property better than we found it. In this case it was impossible. There was nothing we could do that hadn't been done. The cottage was extremely clean and decorated beautifully. The pictures did not do it justice. Fabalous place

The experience renting this property was flawless!!!! The owners were very tentative of our questions!!!! The house was beautiful and we had everything we needed and more. They have sand toys, games, puzzles, and so much more to keep the kiddos entertained. The brownie brittle upon our arrival was an added bonus!!!!!!!

Wonderful home
This property is simply Comfortable. Clean. Spacious. Plenty of Amenities. Excellent communication. No complaints. Great Value. The area on the other hand is simply not an area we would consider visiting again. Very unfriendly and extremely rude. There were 4 adults and we all experienced being greatly rudely. I pride myself in customer service and deal with hundreds of customers daily so I was really trying to take this areas side but honestly prepare yourself if you do amything locally.

Great cottage
We had a great time in this cottage. The house was very clean and had everything we could need. The owners also had tons of games and movies for rainy days. There were even beach toys and chairs, which we took advantage of. It was less than a 3 minute drive to the beach. You can see the beach from the side deck. Nancy quickly responded to any questions we had. The only problem we had was that the wifi didn't extend to the back bedrooms, but it was ok. We loved our time here!

We came to visit our daughter who is stationed at Keesler and our son in law for Thanksgiving. The house was comfortable, clean, and exceeded our expectations. Will definitely stay here again if we come back to this area for a visit.

*Only complaint, was the A/C outside didn't work. Sweat as soon as we walked outside. But I guess it is that time of the year.
