Very loud motorcycle riding neighbors up late and loud up early and loud!

A smaller older motel that has been well taken care of, is kept clean and quiet, has everything you need for a short stay along with available and helpful staff, and there's a "yard" on site where we could take our dog.
As an older building, noise travels so if you are fussy about hearing people walking above you or talking outside your room, understand this may not be the spot for you.

Super convenient and very accommodating to motorcycle riders. Stayed here many times when on rides thru Oregon and always enjoy the place.

This place is so clean and tidy. The staff are so hospitable. The pillows were so fluffy and cozy. It's an old building but everything inside is high quality.
We really wanted a pool but there would be no room on the property for that and that's ok. I really felt like I was home and that's what you need when you're staying the night somewhere.

Every time we’ve stayed there the rooms are very clean, the area is quiet and close to down town. The value is very good.
The breakfast was coffee and energy bar items. Was adequate, and we enjoyed breakfast in town.

The value far exceeds the quality of this beautiful motel. The rooms and bathrooms are updated and were by far the cleanest we've ever stayed in! We travel to Portland every 3 months; and pay twice as much for half the room. I wish they could move this little gem to the west side :). We will be returning and are looking forward to making this a regular getaway spot.

front desk lady was very nice and helpful
the beds were uncomfortable. the carpet was smelly. we all broke out with hives, idk if it was from the dirty carpet or bedding.

The John Day Motel is an owner operated business and was remodeled some time ago.
It is a cozy classic American Motel.
The Reception was very friendly and we immediately felt at home.
Rooms were very clean and beds comfortable.
In the back there is a fireplace and grill so you can relax and go for a BBQ.
This place is higly recommended and the price is right.
Should we be in the area we will most certainly return to this nice place.
Absolutely nothing to complain about.
