we had an absolutely amazing time - this location is quiet and perfectly located for all your adventures ….. martin and his whole family are just wonderful!! we highly recommend this location

Overall it was fantastic to stay in a part of history, and even with renovations they kept the essence of the building and community. The kitchen, and bathroom was fantastic!! Bedrooms were a good size and had good lighting and windows for breeze.
The only thing I would see doing is downstairs having a larger sofa that turns into a bed might be a great option. Partly because since the stairs are original, not everyone can make it up and down safely. This could make that room into a living room suite, its big enough for a queen size sofa bed with all the furniture still in there.
The downstairs WC was a nice edition so not having to go upstairs unnecessarily. And the courtyard was fantastic to have, for breakfast and dinners without being in a public space.
Also the laundry was a blessing because we were there for over two weeks, so keeping things clean was a must.
The host family was gracious and welcoming, never once was there any issue with anything!!
The location was fantastic, parking was not hard at all, the village was easy to navigate once driving a few times and walks were fantastic in the evenings.
Overall I’m definitely saving the place for consideration for my next trip to Germany!!

Wonderful stay in the Wiesbaden area
We were in the Wiesbaden area for a few days, and this stay at Martin's property exceeded all of our expectations. The property itself was immaculately clean, and it was incredibly charming as well.
We parked close each night, and were able to go out and explore the surrounding countryside with ease. Martin was a gracious host, welcoming us to the property and providing us with great dinner recommendations nearby.
If we are back in Wiesbaden, we would live to stay here again!

Clean, Comfortable and Historic
This house dating from 1728 is located in a little village about 15 minutes from Wiesbaden by car. It has been restored with care and updated with a modern kitchen a half bath downstairs and a a full bath upstairs. Getting through the gate takes some practice with the digital lock but after that you are back in the 18th century. The entire house is spotless. Getting up and down the stairs takes some care; its more like a ladder. Be careful getting luggage up and down. The bedding and linens are just fine. The beds are comfortable too. Its great to be able to live in an historic house like this, We had a great time.

Noisy and extra costs not communicated.
Lodging on very noisy street very early in the morning. The VRBO hosts did not respect the guests by trying to be quiet (or educate their children to be respectful and quiet) in the morning or at night.
A "Spa tax" of 3 euro per night per person was expensive and a waste of time and money.
We would not recommend this location, or stay there again.

Wonderful Quaint German Hidden Gem
We arrived late in the day and the host had already provided us with all the particulars for arrival. So convenient !!! Home was super clean and hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the area. My daughters still talk about our visit here.

Liebevoll restauriertes Fachwerkhaus
Wohnen mal anders.

Historical treasure, peaceful location!
The owners and property manager were extremely professional in the way they have everything set up. The booking and check in/out process was simple and clearly communicated. The welcome book in the house has so much wonderful information that helped us tremendously in making the best use of our time in our short 2-day stay. The house itself was amazing! I loved getting to imagine what it was like living there a couple hundred years ago! It’s historic for sure with the tiny stairs and leaning floors, old windows etc, but the restoration was done to perfection AND everything was modern and comfortable. Every amenity you could imagine from a beautiful huge modern shower to Netflix and WiFi and super comfy beds. I loved that it was on the same property as the owners and shared the courtyard to their main house with them. It was really nice getting to meet Martin’s wife when she was outside with her children. She spoke excellent English, by the way, which made conversation really easy and made us feel very welcomed there. We loved the neighborhood we were in- very quaint and peaceful but close enough to Wiesbaden to easily head into the city for the day. There was SO much in Wiesbaden! We enjoyed a huge farmers market right in the center of town, went to the store with the “World’s Largest Cuckoo Clock”, enjoyed lots of fun shops and ate and relaxed in the grass watching ducks by a pond at the park. There was so much to see and then we enjoyed dinner on our way back from the city at a beautiful countryside tavern that was recommended by the owners. It was wonderful coming back to rest after the day’s activities in this cozy home. There was so much more we would have loved to do if we had been able to stay longer. We really appreciate the wonderful hospitality. You won’t be disappointed with your experience renting from this sweet family!

Lovely Stay
We have a lovely stay at this historic home. The hosts were delightful and popped over shortly after we arrived to introduce themselves and made sure we didn't need anything. Later that evening they were throwing a small get together with some friends and invited us over for a drink. We agreed and had a delightful time. During the stay, we blew a breaker and the host came over and fixed it right away. The only person this house would not be good for would be someone with elderly family or children as the stairs are quite steep (as the host mentions).

Wonderful stay
We had the pleasure of staying at this beautifully restored place during a stopover with two kids amidst the scorchingly hot summer 2018.
I guess there is no way you cannot love this place: The original features that are still visible make you mind-travel back in time. Modern amenities provide all luxury needed.
Glorious gem!

Short stay overnight in Wiesbaden
My partner and I stayed one night in this beautiful, restored home. Loved the character, detail, history of this home. We drove into Wiesbaden with our rental car and were able to find free street parking just down the hill close by to the home. The directions the owner provided and the instructions on how to enter the home were spot on. A short time after we arrived, the owner stopped by to say hello and even offered us some delicious soup, which was very kind. The owner explained a little bit of the history of the home which was very fascinating and interesting to hear.
The home is quite spacious, lots of room to spread out. The kitchen was bright, lots of light, and had doors that opened into a small courtyard between the houses. We didn't use the kitchen for any cooking but if you chose to cook you will love the kitchen, lots of room and the appliances all looked fairly new. The kitchen floor even felt heated(not entirely sure if I was correct on that) but felt warm to the touch which was an added perk once the sun set and the house cooled-loved that! The television was easily to navigate and for a short time we enjoyed one of our favorite shows on Netflix. The upstairs bath and shower look to be fairly new and the shower in particular was very nice.
We would have stayed longer, but did not realize that the home was much further from the city center of Wiesbaden than we anticipated. Entirely our fault on that count since we had never been to Wiesbaden. We were looking to not use the car much while in Wiesbaden and walk or take busses or trains to and from. There were few restaurants or stores nearby the home. The owner did tell me in advance about needing a car, so that is our error. Just something to keep in mind, you would differently need to have a car to easily run errands to and from this house. There is a local bus line nearby, but I would recommend having a car to get to wherever you would need to go.
The next day we checked out and it occurred to us that we left one of our mobile phones in the home. The owners contacted me and arranged for someone to courier the mobile phone to us at our hotel in Frankfurt. That was incredibly kind and gracious of the owners to arrange this for us as we were returning home to the USA soon. We thank the owners for their hospitality, and their willingness to go the extra mile in retrieving our mobile phone. Overall, this was a charming, quiet home to stay in while traveling through Wiesbaden.

Amazing historic home with great hosts.
Martin and Juliane as well as their sweet daughters were amazing hosts for our family. We have a 2 year old and a 4 month old and our stay was great.
Our hosts welcomed us as friends. Our kids played together, we watched the Euro tournament together, and shared a beer or two.
The house is authentic and immaculate. Martin and Juliane will inform all that there is a VERY strep staircase so if you are not able to climb this is not the place for you. In addition, you need to be careful with children going up and down.
The kitchen is very nice with big windows to a shared courtyard with your hosts. There is a half bathroom downstairs and a full bath with shower (no bathtub which is challenging with the baby). Both are very nice bathrooms.
A nice touch is that they have a nice big television with Amazon Fire Stick TV which gives a ton of content. The wifi was constant and fast too.
We explored Frankfort as well as the Rhine River and it's castles. Great trip hosted by wonderful people.

A Wonderful Experience
It was a delight to stay at this seriously old, beautifully renovated, property. Clearly no money was spared in carrying out the renovation. First class all the way. Bath and kitchen fixtures are top-of-the-line. Furnishings are comfortable and charming and everything is immaculate. Interesting decorative touches are everywhere (and note the bits of the old structure left exposed, especially the small spot on the kitchen wall with the two paint stripes that were so faithfully reproduced). The shower is large, bright, and the water pressure is amazing. There are more huge fluffy bath towels than one would ever need. Loved the coffee machine and the generous selection of specialty coffees. The beautifully refinished wood floors slant this way and that reminding you of the building's age and making you giggle, feeling like a drunken sailor. The really steep, narrow stairs to the upstairs bathroom and two bedrooms are definitely a challenge, but again, a fun reminder of the building's age; it would have been a real shame to replace them. Parking in the inner courtyard was also a bit of a challenge but certainly added to the authenticity of the experience staying at this property--and so nice to have our car off the narrow street. We did not meet Martin and his wife as they were on vacation but they kept in contact and answered emails immediately. Martin's mother-in-law was a great help when we had difficulty working the entrance code after dark (not enough light) and let us know if we needed anything we could just ring her door bell. The only negative? Our stay was too short. Highly recommended.
