Love this property. Everything we needed was provided. Love that the beach was right outside my door. Enjoyed hunting for sand dollars. Downside was problem occasionally with elevator and getting the toilet to flush.

The unit was old and needs renovation, particularly to the kitchen and bathroom. Appliances were old- even the hairdryer. Great lo cation, though.

Bed and sofa sleeper needs updated. There was not a blanket for the sofa sleeper. The bathroom needs updated and mold growing on shower door.

Luckily, we had nice weather and stayed on the beach more than in the condo. For the money spent for, my family could have stayed somewhere nicer. There was not enough room for the four of us, especially using the pull out couch. The mattress from the pull out was very thin and uncomfortable. We had to bring in a blow up mattress for them to sleep comfortably. Tacky paper was peeling from the kitchen cabinets drawers and toilet didn’t flush properly the entire time we were there. Condo really needs some upgrades!

Great Getaway
Had a great experience staying at the Sunset Chateau. Found the property to be clean with the comforts of home. Loved the pool & the beach access. Only a few improvements should be made, needs new pillows, screen door should be repaired properly & more towels would have been great. Overall we will be back!

Great location but make sure you know the rules of condo
We have been staying at this location for 6 plus years. We love the location being so close to the beach. This year we had a family reunion and brought a 10 ft trailer with 6 kayaks. Well let me tell you, what a horrible hassle from the property mgmt! NO WHERE on the VRBO listing does it say you can't have a trailer attached to your vehicle. Even though we had stayed at this location before we have never brought a trailer, so we had NO IDEA this was not allowed. The ONLY place you at Sunset Chateau where this policy is stated is on a poster in the elevator. We checked in Saturday, half way through the week up until Wednesday , we had multiple calls and threated to be towed several times. We were happy to abide by the rules, which would have been nice to know BEFORE we drove 13 hours to get there, but NEVER did they offer a solution for us to park this trailer anywhere else. We ended up paying a dock $120 to park it there for 4 days. Our representative from VRBO was great about calling us and helping us but the mgmt at Sunset Chateau was horrible!! Needless to say the location is awesome, but if you have a problem don't expect anyone to help you.

Condo was ok-Propery Manager was helpful but would not stay at again
The condo itself was ok but lacked towels. The long weekend which was Memorial Day weekend was very crowded and loud. Music blasted from other condos and beach all weekend long. We had a 1 1/2 year old in our condo which I would not recommend. Also the smell of marijuana was heavy around the complex.

Great Location but.......
We’ve been to the Sunset Chateau before many times when our family stayed there. This was our first time. The property itself was not as clean as we would have liked (sand on the floor, dirty shower doors, etc....basically all of the things that people complained about in the past which were clearly not addressed) but I guess some of it comes along with being right on the beach. I saw a comment below about the storm door being broken. Apparently the solution was to rip it off the hinges leaving behind a metal piece sticking straight out at knee level. We didn’t see it until my wife cut her leg while trying to get our sons stroller through the door. Nothing serious but still annoying. The cops got called on our second night because there was someone on our floor blasting music. He is an owner on the 4th floor and has absolutely no regard for his neighbors. After the cops left he started yelling and cursing at the people who called the cops on him (very classy). Apparently the cops did nothing because he continued to blast the music starting the next night. I can deal with loud music to a certain time but 11pm is a bit ridiculous. One night he was carrying his huge speaker up and down the walkway outside the doors and didn’t stop until we went out and yelled at him for waking up our colic 2.5 month old after we just fought for an hour to get him to bed. Drunk and disorderly doesn’t cover it. We definitely won’t be staying at this place ever again. There are plenty of other nicer places that are right on the beach at the same price point. Oh.....and no lounge chairs by the pool??? Why even bother having a pool??

Treasure island
I loved opening the windows and hearing the waves. I wished there were chairs at the pool area. The bottom floor appeared to be boarded up which looked a little concerning when I first arrived. There was only one working elevator so there was some wait time. But, all in all great location and as it appeared in the listing. Thank you for the relaxing stay.

Ocean View Getaway
Much needed getaway right on the beach with an amazing ocean view! Great location and views. FYI parking is very strict, we had friends come by (long enough to change clothes and switch cars) and within 10 minutes their vehicle was on a tow truck.

Here is my honest and best review.
Great location, beautiful view, gorgeous beach. This is our fifth year staying at Sunset Chateau. We really love it! The first 4 years we stayed in a different unit (same unit for 4 consecutive years) and we did not have any complaints whatsoever.
This it the first time we book this unit (#406). The place is nice and spacious. Love the kitchen!!! However, the place needs a deep cleaning, specially the bathroom. There was mildew in the bathtub doors. I also had to sweep the floor as soon as we got there due to there was sand on the living room floor and carpet.
The mattress in the bedroom needs to be changed ASAP. It is super uncomfortable!!! The sleeper sofa in the living room was very uncomfortable as well. Another downfall is that there is no T.V. in the bedroom. :)
We would not mind staying in that unit again but only if they take care of the issues mentioned above.

Great Relaxing Beach, Condo in need of deep clean.
Overall satisfied with the location as we have been in the past. However the condo is in need of some deep cleaning in the bathroom where mildew was heavily present around the shower/bathtub. Love the location but might look for a different condo to stay at next time.

Nice and Clean. Love having less people on the beach. Would definitely stay again.
Only complaint is, you are charged a 100.00 cleaning fee for the rental, yet they want you to take out the garbage and strip the bed. That actually should be included with the cleaning fee.
I also feel they should have lock boxes on the premises for an easier pick up and drop of the keys, possibly in the mail boxes? Just a suggestion. Overall a great place to stay.

Very nice place but bed was a double bed and sagged in the middle we had to split up and one use the sleeper couch which was also saggy. Location nice. A number of nice restaurants within walking distance live bands near by and the trolley which takes you pretty much anywhere for a dollar 10 was about four tenths of a mile north of us. Great walking and shelling Beach.

Beautiful location but the condo needs some work.
We loved the beach and the condo was well stocked with dishes, towels, and beach toys. Unfortunately, there wasn't a washer/dryer, the screen door broke, one of the windows didn't lock, and the bathroom ceiling needs attention. I called the management company about the door and the window; no one ever came to fix them :(

Clear water and white sand beach
We really enjoyed our trip and staying in your Condo! I saw dolphins swimming by daily, and the water was so clean with the white sandy beach! The beach right in front of the Condo's was not over crowded! I would stay here again. Perfect spot for me!
You do need to take your own beach towels, there is only 2 beach chairs. Other than that it is a nice, clean place to stay!

For the most part it was great; just a few complaints.
We really enjoyed the stay. Everything was clean and well supplied with anything you could possibly need. My complaints were not having washer/dryer in the condo, the AC not being able to go below 72 degrees, and the deadbolt lock on the door is very hard to lock and unlock. Other than that it was very nice.

We have been staying in this condo since 2008, it is unmatched. Beautiful condo, gorgeous beach. There is a sign close to there that said “on island time.” That is exactly how I felt staying at this condo.

Quiet & close to everything needed
Though flooring could use a good cleaning overall the condo was clean. I’m a big fan of a private balcony, so wasn’t happy with walkway. Still all in all we were pleased.
