'Sunset Center' is an adjacent pair of family vacation houses. The 'Ice House' is a 6 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom vacation home featuring a private gated 24 foot heated swimming pool, 6 person hot tub, playscape, and wooded ravine lot with fire pit. The property is an easy 4 block walk down the sidewalk to South Beach, Kid's Corner, and downtown shopping and dining.
All comforts of home are provided, including washer and dryer, linens, all major kitchen appliances (including refrigerator with ice and water dispenser, range, dishwasher, and microwave), kitchen utensils, free wireless Internet, 8 cable TVs (Four with X1 Voice Enabled boxes with apps such as Netflix, Youtube, and access to the HDR, and 4 basic cable boxes for the remainder), many DVD/VCR players, CD players, just to name a few.
The house is perfect for families with children of all ages. The pool and hot tub are gated for your protection. The back yard is completely fenced.
The pool will be open and heated from mid May until approximately October 1. The hot tub is open and heated year-round. Enjoy the rare warm water in South Haven in June and September!

We had 3 different groups from our family staying here and had a wonderful experience. The home was clean and absolutely stocked with nearly every child item you could need (bikes, strollers, toys, cribs, etc.). Very convenient to walk downtown and to the beach. Overall a great place and would stay again.

We had a long weekend family getaway in South Haven. There were 7 adults and 2 kids. There was plenty of room for everyone, the house was stocked with everything we needed , communication was great on checkin, keys , etc. Location was great for an easy walk to the lake, shops and restaurants. It was our wedding weekend. So we booked both the Sun House and Ice House to host family from all over including Germany who had never been to the US. The houses are amazing, fully equipped, they thought of every need!! The owners responded right away with any question.

This spacious home was everything we were looking for in a vacation rental. From it’s six bedrooms to it’s beautiful backyard. A large deck with a gas grill, plenty of seating, a private pool, hot tub, and a shared play set for the kiddos. Very kid friendly with many books, board games, toys, and an actual arcade game in the home.
The home was stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Plenty of towels, both bath and kitchen, garbage bags, paper towels, hand soap, laundry detergent and a fully functional kitchen.
It is located near the playground and beach, and a short distance to downtown.
The host offers a golf cart for an extra fee, which would be convenient to drive to the playground and beach.
The host was very accommodating and responded quickly when texted.
We would definitely stay here again.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this rental. The pool/hot tub/ deck were the main hang out space. Kitchen was well-equipped. We appreciated having spare coffee, kitchen supplies, and toiletries so we didn't have to keep running out to get things. There were so many toys for the kids to explore and play with. And the location to the beach and downtown is wonderful. We had a few questions and the host, Jim, was very responsive, helpful, and kind. Can't recommend this place enough!

We were a large family group, staying in South Haven for Mother's Day weekend. The Icehouse offered us a lovely place to stay while exploring the South Haven area. The six bedrooms, three full and one half baths made our stay very comfortable. We spent our evenings playing games at the large dining room table, and were grateful to be able to enjoy the pool and hot tub in the afternoon. We would love to stay again sometime and highly recommend this South Haven Gem!

The home was perfect for a large group. Walking In I was very impressed to find that it was exceptionally clean. It was the most comfortable and well stocked rental I have been in. The location was perfect with a short walk to downtown and the beach. My whole family from ages 10-72 enjoyed our stay and hope to return!

Great Girls' Getaway
We loved the location of this property, so close to town and the beaches! Lots of bedrooms and baths, spaces to spread out if we wanted to. The hot tub was such a nice way to relax each evening. The house was clean, but could maybe use a deep cleaning, as there were fingerprints/smudges/dirt marks on the refrigerator handles, bathroom walls and some of the doors/door jams. Also, the half bath toilet may need new screws and caulk, as it would move easily if bumped into. Great house overall, we would rent again.

House was large, had plenty of room for our large family with room to spare. House was clean and stocked with all the necessities, as well as little extras such as bug spray, laundry soap, pool toys. Our kids loved the pool and hot tub. Highly recommended this rental. We had an issue with the ice machine and the owner was very responsive!

This home had everything!!!! Bikes, chairs, floats for the pool, games books and was so much fun. Close to everything but quiet and lovely. 2 extra fridges in the garage The golf cart iced the cake. We will be back

Family Getaway
This place is perfect for a large group of people. We found ourselves hanging out in the kitchen and on the deck a lot. There was plenty of room for our whole family. The bedrooms were comfortable and cozy. A ton of toys for the kids and it was fun relaxing in the hot tub.

We have stayed in many rentals, and this was by far the most equipped. Everything was provided - all we had to do was show up! The house was immaculate, the features like the hot tub and play area for the kids were great! Bikes, helmets, strollers, games, puzzles, etc. were all there for us. Location was in a quiet neighborhood near the downtown area. Jim is a great host - even sent a few items we left behind. Would definitely stay here again. So glad we chose this property.

Great Location
We were looking for a last minute get away for our family since our other summer plans were cancelled due to covid. We found this property and thought it would be perfect for our 3 year old and the rest of our family. This is the first property that we have rented that really has it all. The owners really have thought of everything you might need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Having a heated pool and a hot tub mid September in Michigan was so nice since there can be big swings in the weather temp. The house had a ton of sleeping space. We were surprised with the amount of toys that were available for the kids to play with. The house is located about .5 mile from Lake Michigan where you can access the lake shore. There is also a great kids playground across from the beach access. The house is also located close to downtown and we were able to walk there a couple of days. We have already discussed this property as an option in the future especially since the owner also rents the property next door. It really allows for some nice family get togethers. I would highly recommend this property to families.

Wonderful Respite
Since the pandemic began our family has remained isolated until we all were in great need of a change of scenery. South Haven is a favorite destination. This property was in a perfect location and every one of us loved the pool and hot tub. We enjoyed star gazing and walks on the beach as well as outstanding sunsets Our youngest enjoyed the variety of toys.

Amazing Girls' Weekend Stay
Everything about our stay was perfect. Jim was a great host - very communicative and helpful. The house was clean, cute decor, easy instructions for using the hot tub and close to town. It was a great bonus to have use of the attached garage when it was so cold out. There was enough space for all of us to eat together in the kitchen. Even in mid-winter we used the hot tub and had a great view of the stars. The house had everything we needed. We hope to book again!

Perfect family vacation!
My family and I rented this beautiful home to take my grandma on a relaxing trip to Michigan. There were 7 of us total (kids and adults) and the space worked out perfectly. I was able to message the owner whenever needed and always had super fast replies but we had zero complaints! The house is even better than the pictures! It’s within a short walking distance to the pier and the beach. The neighborhood is so nice. We walked to the beach every morning and again at sunset. There are public playgrounds at the beach but Jim has a playground right there at the house too. Win win for kids! The pool and hot tub were everyone’s favorite place to be most of the time and the owner had the pool heated for the cooler October weather which was so awesome. We visited wineries, drove to Saugatuck for shopping, and did the sand dunes but honestly this was the first vacation where everyone was perfectly content being at the house because it was so relaxing and so much to do! Even sitting on the porch having coffee was nice. I was a little worried combining a few families of mine together in one house but the house is big enough where everyone had their own space. It is a good central location to grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping as well. If you are looking for a rental house that has everything you need for a peaceful vacation, choose this one. We can’t wait to go back and rent this same house! Thanks so much!

perfect family place is true! The July 4th parade was great! House has big kitchen, outdoor eating area, 5 bedrooms upstairs and one down. Tons of toys, books, bikes and riding things for little ones. We have gone two years in a row and will probably go next year as well. Owner Jim is great! Property is great! Ice House was perfect for our family!
After a fantastic week, everyone voted unanimously to return! Kids loved the pool, big kitchen, .6 miles to beach. Quick bike ride to watch the sunsets. Lots of indoor toys and books for the kids. Riding toys were also popular. We roasted marshmallows in the fire pit the one evening it was cool. Fireflies were everywhere! Downtown is fun and we had lunch on the boat that is docked there. Family time.
This home was perfect for a family reunion with lots of room for playing cards/games at the dining room table. The kitchen is brand new and well equipped. We would have liked to have more seating in the living room though. If you have younger children (we did not) they would never be bored because they have every play toy and riding toy imaginable. Even though it was chilly, we swam and used the hot tub which is heavenly. Thanks for sharing your lovely home.

A perfect Winter Wonderland!
We could not have chosen a more perfect location to spend our first Christmas away from home in thirty six years! The Ice House is large, roomy, yet cozy and inviting. We were greeted by a lit Christmas tree in the living room (which was one of the items I was concerned about leaving at home) and a huge kitchen, which was great because we spent our entire time in the house because of the weather/driving conditions. We were able to do lots of food prep/cooking without getting in each other's way! To our delight, we had our own Santa (Jim, the owner) who attended to our every anticipated need, even though he was on vacation with his family. My grand daughter was able to frolic in the snow filled backyard, play on the snow covered playground equipment, and enjoy the numerous games and toys that had been tucked away in one of the first floor closets. There were cribs, highchairs, every thing needed to accommodate parents traveling with young kids. Yet, the location of the three and a half baths was perfect for all of us seniors! The house is clean, well maintained and by all reviews, the beds were extremely comfortable. My husband wanted to take one of the mattresses home! Jim supplied us with the best customer service we have received in a very long time - before, during and after our stay! I would highly recommend this location and any other location owned by the Havliks. It was our first attempt at a vacation like this, and I look forward to doing more business with Jim in the future.

Four families stayed at the Ice House for a weekend family reunion, and we were very pleased with the accommodations. The location is great, there is plenty of space, and the house is well maintained. The owner is very easy to work with and answered all our questions. We would definitely stay there again.

Great Family Reunion Site
For our family reunion this year we stayed at the Ice House. Our family ranges from age 5 to 89. The kids loved having a pool and hot tub on site. It was great to be able to walk to the beach and into town. The Ice House was clean and each of the bedrooms was comfortably furnished. I highly recommend it.

up was perfect with 2 of the rooms having a double
bed, plus separate twin bunk beds. It's only a short 4-
5 block walk to a massive park and the beach.

The house was perfect for...
The house was perfect for our needs. I and my two sons plus their girlfriends and my cousin from England and her two daughters along with their boyfriends spent a week there in June. We spent hours in the pool and hot tub, used both grills as we had some vegetarians amongst us, ate every meal on the deck and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The walk into town or to the beach is a very pleasant and easy one and with 10 adults we could all go together or not as we pleased. We took our bikes from Indiana so, with the ones in the garage, there were enough bikes for everybody who wanted to ride. Our outings included winery tours,brewery tour, boat rides, dune buggy rides, water sports and trips to the gym but horse riding was cancelled due a heavy thunderstorm. Also shopping in Saugatuck and Holland. I don't think it would have been possible to squeeze any more activities in.
The bedrooms were beautiful and the house was immaculately clean. We would recommend the house and South Haven to anybody and everybody.

We love, love, love this house. This is the second year we stayed there over Labor Day weekend. It has something for everyone. My kids enjoy the bikes, the pool and the walk to the beach. Us "old" people enjoy walking around town, shopping, the hot tub and the beautiful sunsets (not to be missed). It's the perfect place for a family get together.
Life is too short. Enjoy the family and plan a trip to S. Haven and this house. You won't regret it.
