Ease into tropical living with the comforts of Arena 2. With palm trees and an oceanfront view, this secluded 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom condo is centrally located for easy access to the residential community of Punta Esmeralda´s onsite amenities. Arena 2 guests will find no need to leave the development. Just beyond the patio are two common area pools and Punta Esmeralda´s beach club restaurant. Grabbing a cocktail at sunset is an easy 30 second walk from your front door. Speaking of sunset, what a perfect time to take a walk on the beach, or play an evening match of volleyball. The only thing that that separates Arena 2 from the beach is a small common area pool and patch of grass with swaying palm trees.

This villa greets its guests with warm hospitality and the cool comforts of a luxury getaway in the tropics. Perfect for larger groups, this villa rental's grand scale and ground floor orientation give the ambiance of seclusion with the palm trees and tropical garden outlining the area to give it a special intimacy to your outdoor dining, grilling and entertaining. The expansive terrace allows something for everyone, swimming, reading or tanning on the lounge chairs, grilling a nice local arrachera on the charcoal grill, or eating snacks at the table under the shaded pergola. Guests will find little reason to ever leave the patio as there is something for everyone.

Entertaining is made easy with an open floor plan and generous seating throughout the condo, inside dining or out. Arena 2 features seating for six on the patio or inside in the dining room. The fully-equipped kitchen has all the standard appliances and plateware for formal dining or plastics for patio or poolside family dining. Better yet, treat yourself to a Destino kitchen assistant and have local meals prepared and spread out for you along the kitchen bar to serve yourself. Walk inside from a hard day´s work at the pool to food magically prepared and waiting for you (check out our photos of the Chile Rellenos -yummy).

With two master bedrooms, Arena 2 features plush mattresses, televisions, en-suite bathrooms and not-to-miss ocean views. The master bathroom has a large bathtub and double sink, perfect for families with children. The other two bedrooms provide equal relaxation with all the comforts of a tropical getaway, both featuring two twin size beds that can easily be pushed together to make a king (upon request). All bedrooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans for your comfort while vacationing in tropical, humid climate.

You will probably not want to leave the comforts of this condo, but if you do the villages of Bucerias and La Cruz de Huancaxtle are each about 5 minutes away for you to explore. Practice your Spanish and pick some colorful souvenirs for friends and family at Bucerias flea market, or pick up some fresh treats at the La Cruz artesian market. Both towns offer a variety of restaurant and street tacos options.

Capture the lush flora with its swaying palm trees and tropical gardens. Go for a swim in the eight common pools and a double-sized plunge pool. Take to the sand for a game of beach volleyball or dine alfresco as you laugh the night away. Our group of 5 adults and 2 kids (aged 10 and 14) stayed at this property for a week in February 2024. Punta Esmeralda itself is an absolutely beautiful resort. An assortment of accommodations ranging from condos, villa and homes. There are 8 pools throughout the landscaped grounds, right on the beach, a spa, pickleballs courts, small gym and a restaurant (which had exceptionally delicious food!). The villa we were in was very clean and comfortable, had a well equipped kitchen, BBQ, washer/dryer to do laundry, and was located close to all amenities. The views from the private plunge pool were gorgeous and even with visiting during the busy season it never felt crowded or too busy. With low tide we were able to walk into both La Cruz and Bucerias, and access to the bus and taxi's to get around was simple and quick. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, even accommodating an early check-in for our group. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking to stay in the area - five stars!!

Beautiful Punta Esmeralda

Punta Esmeralda is a beautifully designed complex, located right on the Bay of Banderas. The property is exquisitely maintained, including all 8 pools, and the on-site restaurant serves excellent breakfasts and lunches. There are flower-lined walkways everywhere and so many areas in which to relax. We were totally pleased with our location. However, condo Arena 2 was lacking in many ways, and led to much frustration, especially during our first week - 10 days. We had no internet access within our unit, and trucked up the hill to a room which the odd time did have access. The air conditioners in the bedrooms never did work properly the entire month, nor did the "brand new" dishwasher. Although they fogged constantly for mosquitoes, we were unable to sit out in the evenings due to being bitten. (Our condo was on the ground floor.) The final disappointment involved money being stolen by one of the maids. Our rental agent, who works for Destino Vacation Rentals, was less than helpful and more or less ignored us. Arena 2 is a nicely furnished, spacious unit which comfortably accommodates 8 people, and its location so close to the beach and pools is ideal. However, it requires some attention before we could recommend it to future renters.
