My wife and I spent four nights at this property and absolutely loved it.
Easy commute to Acadia and other attractions in the area.
Even though we loved the park, scenery, food, etc... we both really looked forward to getting back to this cabin to have time to enjoy the view. All other reviews are accurate - the view is incredible!
The host made check in/check out easy. Communication was excellent.
Zero complaints and we hope to stay here again!

The cottage has a great view and we enjoyed watching the wildlife from the front porch. The neighborhood is very peaceful. It is a great home base for visiting all that the area has to offer.

If you are looking for a stunning view, peaceful and quiet neighborhood, cleanliness, excellent communication, and a cozy cottage, then look no further; this is the place for you! Easy to find! And, oh my goodness, did I mention the view? This cottage comes fully stocked with all the kitchen items needed. We were in the area 4 days and traveled to various parts of Acadia very easily. One more time….. that view!!

3rd time staying at Sue's property. Clean, comfortable, all amenities one could want, amazing views of Mount Desert Island, seals, eagles, etc. Worth the price. Will stay again next year.

My best friend and I stayed here on a girls trip. The cabin is super clean and stocked with everything you need, including tips on what to do in the area. The owner was proactive about helpful advice about crowds in nearby Bar Harbor and quick to respond through the whole booking process. And the view is the BEST! Even if the other things were not true, it would be worth it for the view. Thank you for sharing this little piece of heaven!

The cabin was very clean and well-furnished, and everything was just as advertised. Sue was very kind and attentive and quick to respond to questions. We had a wonderful week. The view is amazing. We saw seals swimming in the harbor most days. We were not familiar with the area & were a little concerned about the drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia, but the drive was not bad at all. Plus there are several nice restaurants not far from the cabin, and you can get everything you need at Ellsworth, so there are amenities close to the cabin. The week we were there, Bar Harbor & Acadia were packed with people—way too many people and hardly any parking spaces. We were relieved that we weren’t staying in the middle of that. The cabin proved to be a great choice for us. We would stay there again if we ever go back to Acadia.

This well-appointed cottage was perfect for our Maine getaway. There were unexpected amenities when we checked in such as condiments, coffee, and other foodstuffs in the cupboard. We were also greeted with a gift certificate to a local restaurant. The place was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the view was second to none. I hope we have the chance to return! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was absolutely great. Clean, comfy, everything you need and nothing you don’t. It’s not super big but you know that from the pictures. We had fires in the pit every night by the ocean, and the same seal would visit us and swim around the shore line each night, probably begging for tortilla chips. We would love come back in the future!

I was able to take several days to myself and enjoy the absolute beauty of this perfectly located cottage. It had all I needed and was super comfortable. I highly recommend. Host was easy to communicate with. I would love to go back. You can not beat the location and the view.

No one should ever rate this property anything less than a 5. Sue goes out of her way to make sure you know what you're renting. And what you're getting is a SPECTACULAR View. The Cabin is as advertised. Waking up to the sounds of the Loons, Seagulls, and Lobster Boats is Wonderful. We stayed 4 days. One day was rainy and foggy and just not a good day to go see Mount Desert Island. So we spent the day sitting on the front porch and watching the tide come in and go out. Watching those waves lapping at the rocks. WOW! Talk about cathartic? We were on a 25 day tour of the New England States. And that day just sitting and relaxing on the front porch was the Best Day of our trip. If you're the type of person who finds fault in everything, you should probably pay more and go somewhere else. But if you want a Rustic, Relaxing, and Peaceful stay away from the Hustle and Bustle of the tourist in Bar Harbor, than this is your vacation spot.

Sue was very communicative and helpful both before and during our visit. The cabin was adorable, clean, and the views were second to none. The location was peaceful and secluded, but not overly distant from amenities and attractions. The new WiFi connection was an absolute blessing for a work Zoom meeting I had to attend while we were there. We had a great time at Acadia and Bar Harbor and would love to visit again.

fantastic spot!
On the waterfront in Hancock point - wonderful spot, highly recommended. It’s small but exactly as advertised and we had a wonderful time looking at the bay and stargazing at night. We hit a heat wave and it was still chilly at times from the breeze off the water. We spent 3 nights as a stop off point before taking the ferry to Nova Scotia and loved every minute of it. Go there! For a great meal try Sweet Peas’s Farm on Mt Desert Island - pizza, ribs and their wines were all outstanding!

Exactly what we wanted
The cottage is convenient (~35 minutes) to Arcadia NP in a quiet residential area that is only minutes away from good restaurants and groceries. The view from the front porch is spectacular -- the bay, Arcadia's mountains in the distance. The cottage itself is perhaps a bit rustic (that is, the bedrooms are small) but it's clean, comfortable, and has everything we wanted/needed. Best of all, our host -- Sue -- is amazingly friendly, responsive, and helpful. I would absolutely stay there again.

Just beautiful….
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. The cabin is charming! Very clean and cozy. Unbelievable views of bay. Convenient drive to both Bar Harbor and Schoodic Point. Appreciated the $25 gift certificate to Ruth and Wimpys. (Please be advised they are closed Saturday-Sunday-Monday. and they do take reservations.) Sue was fantastic throughout the process. Highly recommend this cabin. A little slice of heaven!

Amazing Views, peaceful quiet location!
We had a great stay at the cottage. The views from the property are amazing. It is a peaceful, quiet neighborhood. The host had great communication throughout the process. The cottage is small and ceilings are low for a tall person like me (6ft tall), but it is well maintained and clean, and has everything the 3 of us needed for a great stay. After a day of fighting the crowds at Acadia, it was very relaxing coming back to this quiet escape with spectacular waterfront views! The host also provided a binder with helpful information about the area!

Beautiful view
This cabin was great for the two of us as we visited Acadia and the surrounding area. We enjoyed the fire pit every night as we watched the sunset and the beauty of Acadia across the harbor. It was a perfect location and the right size for two people. Very rustic and quaint.

Million Dollar views
as described. It is an older structure-----a few minor maintenance issues need attention--------loose door hinge, screening needs repairs. These things were outweighed by the location and views. We particularly like being 1/2 hr away from Bar Harbor. Handcock is in a great spot---particulary enjoyed the "other Acadia" out on the Schoodic Peninsula---less crowds and beautiful scenery. We very much enjoyed the fire pit with the great view of Frenchmans bay!

A Scenic Home Base!
We loved our stay at "A Little Bit of Paradise on the Maine Coast!" Our entire stay was amazing. The view was simply beautiful and the cottage was very cozy. Sue did a fantastic job of preparing everything for our stay including helpful information about the area. If you are traveling to the Maine coast, we highly recommend a stay at this "little bit of paradise."

Cozy cottage
This cozy cottage by the sea feels like it could have belonged in my own family for years. It is a tiny slice of peace and quiet. We loved the porch and the views were beyond gorgeous. We kayaked from the shore and watched the harbor seals play. Perfect home away from home.

Slice of Heaven
Our stay was wonderful! Cottage is small, but cozy, very clean (high marks) and stocked well. All we needed to buy was food. View is A-maze-ing! Close to Schoodic and short ride to Acadia. We loved it! Thank you Sue.

Idyllic little cottage on the ocean
We spent 4 nights here and enjoyed it thoroughly. We drove into Acadia each day, not a bad drive, and enjoyed the mornings and evenings here. Our toddler enjoyed the swing and the little playhouse which would have been a blast for older kids. Very cute and thoughtfully appointed for our stay and very clean. Amazing to open the blinds in the AM and see the ocean at the end of the yard.

Cottage on the water
Spectacular views that offered a new perspective every day; morning and evening. Perfect launch for the kayaks, campfires in the evening. Peace and quiet with neighbors nearby but comfortably distanced. Lovely little neighborhood beach in the area for exploring. The cottage had everything we needed and more. Wished we'd stayed longer!!

Perfect vacation!
This rental was absolutely perfect getaway for myself and my 17 year old daughter, so relaxing! Thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the mornings with our coffee and tea, with awesome views across the harbor. Accommodations are not fancy, but clean, comfortable and everything we needed for our Maine getaway. Owner very responsive. Would highly recommended this property.

Absolutely perfect for us!
The cozy cottage exceeded our expectations. The view is absolutely gorgeous. The cottage was clean and cozy and had everything we needed. It is a great location, close to Mt Desert and yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy the peace and quiet.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Coveside Cottage for our anniversary and it was perfect!! Such a spectacular location. The view is breathtaking. And the cottage was sweet and cozy. Sue, the owner was also very helpful. We will be back!!
