Stay on the outskirts of the Vienna Woods, let yourself be woken up by twittering birds and enjoy breakfast in a glass-veranda from where you can enjoy the sight of the rolling hills of the Vienna Woods. If you want to attend cultural events in Vienna, the highly efficient underground U4 will take you to the city-centre - where most of the historical sites are situated - in just a few minutes. (In fact, it takes only 30 minutes from the living-room to St. Stephen’s Square and 20 minutes to the castle Schönbrunn which may well be faster than from a central district in Vienna as you do not have to change trams or buses).

Shopping: Shops, banks, pharmacies, supermarkets etc. are situated within a few minutes’ walk. A shopping-mall with a cinema-complex is 10 minutes away.

Sports: For those who like sports there is a mountain bike-trail (there are bikes for rent) in front of and a hiking trail behind the house which lead you directly into the Vienna Woods. There is a swimming pool only 5 minutes away and a lake in Tullnerfeld only 30 minutes away. There is free parking in front of the house as well as facilities where you can leave your bicycle.

Specification of the Villa: If you want to attend cultural events in Vienna, the highly efficient underground U4 will take you to the city-centre - where most of the historical sites are situated - in just a few minutes. (In fact, it takes only 30 minutes from the living-room to St. Stephen’s Square which may well be faster than from a central district in Vienna as you do not have to change trams or buses). If you want to get some information feel free to borrow books from our library; if you prefer listening to music, you are welcome to choose from a large collection of CDs. We also provide information of current cultural events, like concerts, exhibitions at art-galleries, etc.) Or would you rather end the day leisurely? Then you can sit on our terrace - sipping a glass of local wine while enjoying the sunset.

We stayed in this apartment for 23 nights and departed with our hearts full of happiness for our wonderful stay: - The apartment is comfy, cozy & quiet and fully matched what we expected. - The apartment is adequately equipped with all necessary utensils. - The location could not be ANY better. - Using Purkersdorf as a main base, we’re able to explore Vienna and the Niederösterreich Wein region (including Kamptal, Kremstal, Wachau, Traisental and Wagram). - I'm very glad to declare to the owner Mr. Walter: Thank you so much for your attentiveness, your kindness and all tips, suggestions & details you gave in order to make us feel (very) comfortable.

We were looking for a wonderful place to celebrate my Mother's 75th birthday and came across this gem. Both Bridgette and Walter are the most wonderful hosts. They made our booking effortless and are welcomed us warmly into their beautiful apartment. They provided useful travelling tips which made our visit all the more comfortable and easy. The apartment is well located and a short drive from Vienna although transport links are efficient and close by. We had an amazing time and hope to return again very soon. I spent 12 days in a well-appointed ground floor apartment, with a fully-equipped kitchen, beautiful bathroom, TV, and WiFi/internet access. The apartment is conveniently located to public transportation, and therefore provides ready access to the surrounding area. My best decision in planning was to not rent a car, because it was totally unnecessary for someone whose focus was the nearby city. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of my stay had to do with the focused helpfulness of the hosts. They arranged taxi pickup for me at the airport, and return as well. I was personally oriented to the public transportation, and local shopping, Copious printed material/maps were present in the apartment covering every conceivable attraction. For someone who truly desires to make a home away from home, these accommodations fill the bill. I prepared many meals in the well-appointed kitchen. Because of the winter conditions, I could not take advantage of the enclosed, large, furnished sun-room that adjoined my bedroom, but it would be wonderful to seat/eat out there during the other seasons. I recommend these accommodations without reservation, particularly to someone desiring a quiet, peaceful location.

We enjoyed a wonderful 10-day stay in the Villa Marie. The house itself is a beautiful late nineteenth-century villa with several separate apartments. We were in the top one, the so-called "Penthouse". The apartment is spacious, elegantly decorated (leather couches, perfectly coordinated wall hangings and many other touches). The kitchen is furnished with just about everything - we cooked a number of very nice dinners there. There are a number of balconies as well - because it was winter, however, and there was a great deal of snow, we didn't use them. But we will be back in April and August and are looking forward to sitting outside in the evenings. One thing I haven't mentioned yet is the peacefulness and quiet at Villa Marie. After a long, very full day, the Villa Marie is the best place to relax that I could imagine. But although it is peaceful, things like grocery stores etc. are right around the corner. The owners were very helpful in everything, including with tips about where to find things, what restaurants to go to, what to see and do - and even lent us a lemon press from their own kitchen. Conclusion: I would recommend the Villa Marie to anyone, anytime - and actually, I already have :-) !

A very nice apartment ! lots of place for 5 persons. very well equiped so you can realy feel at home ! 20 minutes driving from Vienna and much than living there...! clean and simply much better than a hotel.

Villa Marie is as described in the adverts, quiet, comfortable, with views across the valley and the trees of the Vienna Woods. Purkersdorf is a small suburb (village) on the outskirts of Vienna. The apartment is a few mintues walk from the train to central Vienna (15 mins) and an excellent, peaceful alternative to a city-centre holiday. Vienna is a compact, beautiful city with excellent public transport. There is a huge park & ride at Hüttelsdorf (10 mins drive) with direct access to underground trains. A car is useful if you wish to explore outside Vienna - lots to see and do! The owners are extremely polite, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This was our second visit and did not disappoint this time either.

Villa Marie is a great place to get away from it all! The sorroundings are peaceful and very restful. It's quite a distance from the city center, however, it has the convenience of public transportation. And Walter and his wife, Brigitte, were excellent hosts. They make themselves available to their guests and provide any and all information to ensure that your stay was pleasant and stress-free. Thanks, Walter and Brigitte for being such great hosts!

Die Villa Marie: eine Traumwohnung - ein Wohn-Traum! Bereits im Januar hatten wir im Internet die Villa Marie "gefunden" und konnten dank der Flexibilität der Vermieter auch sofort unseren Wunschtermin buchen. Die Fotos von der Wohnung waren sehr vielversprechend, die Vorfreude entsprechend groß. Nach einem Wochenende in Salzburg war es dann endlich soweit: wir waren im Wienerwald! 4 Urlaubstage lagen vor uns! Wir waren sprachlos: eine so tolle Ferienwohnung hatten wir noch nie - und wir reisen viel! Großzügig, hell, liebevoll gestaltet, perfekt ausgestattet, kuschelig, super gepflegt + sauber, voller Charme......wir haben uns sofort "zu Hause" gefühlt! Auch die Betten waren hervorragend - wir haben wunderbar geschlafen. Das Schlafsofa im Wohnzimmer ist herrlich bequem! Dank der hervorragenden Betreuung durch den Vermieter waren wir für unsere ersten Wienbesuche gut vorbereitet. Hütteldorf war mit dem Auto schnell erreicht, die U-Bahn fuhr alle paar Minuten. Mit dem 48-Stunden-Ticket haben wir dann die Stadt erkundet. Die Zeit ging leider viel zu schnell vorbei! Wir können die Villa Marie nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Die Ferienwohnung entsprach in jeder Weise den Angaben des Online-Inserates. Der Zustand der Ferienwohnung war komfortabel und gepflegt und man konnte sich wie zu Hause fühlen. Der Kontakt und die Betreung durch den Vermieter waren vorbildlich und an Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft nicht zu überbieten. Für Urlauber, welche entspannt die Stadt besichtigen und Kultur genießen wollen und darüber hinaus komfortabel untergebracht sein wollen, ist diese Ferienwohnung sehr gut geeignet. Die Ferienwohnung in der Villa Maria ist eine hervorragende Grundlage für einen gelungenen Urlaubsaufenthalt in Wien.
