About this house rental
House is located on a privately run family compound. This spacious 3 bedroom home is located on a waterfront lot along the Shrewsbury River. Large modern kitchen including counter top seating with open floor plan, hardwood floors, central air conditioning. The three bedrooms are all appointed with queen size beds and cable t.v.. Steps away from restaurants, fishing, night life and other local attractions. Walk across the bridge to Sandy Hook beach and Gateway National Park. Convenient commute to New York by local Ferry. This beautiful unit is fully furnished move in ready.

We rent properties from this host every year, and this year was the first we tried the Waterfront House - spacious, beautiful, and perfect for an extended getaway. We were very pleased with the amenities, and loved the open kitchen-living room area - really perfect for unwinding after each day.

We booked this property for a bachelorette trip and it was amazing! The location is pretty secluded with a beautiful view of the bay and still close enough to the beach for easy access. There are also lots of restaurants & bars within walking distance which was convenient. The host was super nice and accommodating. The house is big with lots of room for 6 people and plenty of different spaces to gather. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful beach getaway!

The home is charming and lovely with lovely views of the river all over the shared property of rental homes. Very close to the beach. Having rented in the outer banks, NC, where you get one roll of toilet paper and one roll of paper towels- it was well appointed even with beach chairs and towels- all of the extras I brought were not needed. Walking distance to local seafood restaurants, bakery/coffee shop, and ice cream. Allow time to get to Sandy Hook Beach from the house- go early or you will be slow going over the bridge- they also offered a beach pass so you don't have to pay for parking at Sandy Hook Beach- owners extremely responsive to our special needs- would 100% go back. You can also visit the beach at night with no traffic at all which we did every night- just beautiful- there is a small river beach and small board walk right off the property as well where I sunbathed. While it's a shared property, I rarely ran into anyone. it was lovely.

Best ever and we will be back in a few weeks- simply a hidden gem and just relaxing, safe and peaceful. Simply put it’s the best vacation our family had. Peter is an awesome person and will do anything for you if needed. Again, cheers

Spent a few days at my grandsons Dance event in Long Brach and this house was perfect for us.
first floor has a very open setup with a nice kitchen and dining room a large couch with a nice TV

two on 2nd floor and an apartment like one on the third floor,
When my 17 year old grandson saw it he asked if he could move in.
We highly with reccomend as it can handle 4-6 + guests with no problems at all

We had a wonderful stay at the property! The host was extremely accommodating and responsive. The beautiful property with its great views is very conveniently located to restaurants and the beach. There was plenty of room for our family of five. We look forward to returning!

An absolute perfect weekend getaway! The house is very spacious, clean and is fully stocked with the essentials. But the best part is the location not only providing some amazing views but it’s close proximity to restaurants and beaches make it a great place to stay. A extra bonus is the parking pass that was provided for the state park. The management was extremely responsive and very accommodating. We will definitely be back!

The location is fabulous! Right on the water, with a short drive (or bike ride) across the bridge to the beach! Restaurants, bar & ice cream in walking distance. Very clean and spacious.

It’s been a long time since I’ve visited the Highlands New Jersey and holy crap, this town has really come a long way! With bars, restaurants, and marinas all within walking distance, this vacation rental is in a prime location! With a water view and boat docking capability, this 3-4 bedroom house was PERFECT for my West Coast friends to come stay and experience some East Coast fishing. The downstairs is huge and great for entertaining. The rooms are comfortable. The house also features off street parking. I am so happy with EVERYTHING and look forward to booking again. Gary was our host and super friendly. He even went above and beyond when we left a set of earbuds, behind. Totally GREAT experience!

This is the perfect spot with wonderful views. There's plenty of room for my growing family to be able to come back together. I would highly recommend this rental for all year getaways. It's so calming to watch the current and the boats go by whatever time of the year. Thanks for renting to us again! My granddaughter already asked when will be coming back!

First floor was much bigger than the pictures appeared. Everything was clean and was a great place for us to stay while visiting family in the area. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Waterview Beach House and this time the experience was even better than the first. More furniture in the main living area made it very comfortable for our family of 4 adults. We stayed over Thanksgiving and Gary generously let us check in early so we could finish cooking our meal there. We watched football, relaxed, dined, and cooked in the large open space. It was perfect for us!

Can't say enough about this wonderful property and its even more lovely owners! We had a group of 5 staying for a nearby wedding and it was perfect. Spacious home with 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms provided lots of getting ready space. Also lovely downstairs living room/kitchen open concept great for hanging out together. Everything was clean and comfy. The hosts could not have been more accommodating and reachable. Seriously the kindest people! Would of course stay again.

We were unable to go at the last minute as several members of the family came down with Covid. Gary and Larry were extremely understanding and allowed us to choose other dates without penalty. I’m so grateful and can’t wait to actually get there!!

Just as presented, a perfectly situated, CLEAN cottage amongst a group of cottages, on a dead-end street in Highlands. The owners/managers are lovely about communicating and relaxed as can be regarding check-in. The beds are comfortable. And the community is so friendly. Most of all, we are grateful to our hosts for welcoming our four-legged family members.

Everything about the property was excellent. We are a family of 6 with two kids, their parents as well as myself (nana) and grandpa and small dog. Grandpa has mobility issues and the small bedroom downstairs was so helpful. Location was fun, fishing and lots of places to eat. We are already thinking about next year!

It was a very short drive to Sandy Hook. Walking distance to an ice cream shop, very dog friendly neighborhood, plenty of parking. The house had a huge kitchen with all the appliances and tableware we needed. The bedrooms had plenty of storage space. We had a wonderful trip! Thanks for your hospitality!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was in a great location. We could walk to restaurants and enjoy the views of the water while enjoying our morning coffee. The main floor was surprisingly larger than it appeared in the photos. The open floor plan was nice for a big family. Check in and check out we’re very easy! The beds and linens were comfortable. The kitchen had the basics and we were able to find what we needed. The host was very responsive! We would definitely stay here again.

3 couples stayed comfortably in this rental property right on the bay/river. It’s a group of homes clustered together, our house did not have a great view but the shared boardwalk was perfect with plenty of comfy chairs. Plenty of parking. Easy walk to restaurants in Highlands and beautiful walk across the bridge to the beach. House also comes with Sandy Hook annual pass to drive out to the beaches which are gorgeous and not crowded.
A few little things at the house were glitchy but owner responded promptly.
Overall we would stay here again if we come back to the area.

We love staying at this place. Gorgeous view of the bay and bridge. We had some minor issues and Gary, Monica and Peter were extremely helpful, communicative and thoughtful. Love the new chairs and sofa, too. We are so grateful to be able to stay here. It is perfect. Thank you!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this home. The property manager was very accessible. We had a small leak during a torrential downpour and he was willing to come right away. There were four separate sleeping spaces that had their own room and the couches were big and comfy. I felt safe and hope to book this house again in the future.

i went with two friends for a girl’s weekend. The location in Highlands is right at the base of the Rt 36 bridge with super easy access to Sandy Hook, Sea Bright, Highlands and Atlantic Highlands. Check-in process was easy, and communication was great. Would definitely stay again!

Good location with good nearby restaurants. Ferry best way to access the city. Living space was comfortable and kitchen was clean. Bedroom and stairwell carpet could use cleaning. Wish had more time to spend at Sandy Hook beach. Larry was a great host.

We have stayed at other homes of Larry/Gary’s, and this one by far is our favorite. It is spacious, relaxing and has beautiful water views. As always, Gary was a great host! We are looking forward to our next stay!
