About this bed and breakfast
Stay-Relax-Rejuvenate: A luxurious retreat tucked into the trees, just minutes from downtown Huntsville. The Guest House is equipped with everything from a full kitchenette and fiber-optic internet to the wood for your private firepit.
We welcome up to two, 4 legged, well-behaved guests. Your dog (s) will love romping with our 2 Aussies and hiking the many pet-friendly hiking trails in the Huntsville area. We ask that during the initial introduction of your pets to our farm animals, you have them leashed. (this is for the protection of the goats and chickens) Once they meet and greet, in all likelihood, the leash can be dispensed with.
The Heating and Air Conditioning unit is an environmentally friendly heat pump system. It is a true revolution in year-round comfort.
The washroom has a glass shower, vanity and sink. The toilet is a Norwegian designed model called the "Cinderella". A truly unique design that is new to Canada.
Enjoy the picnic table, firepit and hammocks located just outside the fenced pasture area. Please visit our Hobby Farm consisting of Dwarf Nigerian Goats and Exotic Chickens.
The suite looks out over 10 acres of forest. The Guest House is located 1000 feet from the road and is completely private.
Arrowhead Provincial Park, Algonquin Park, Lake of Bays and Limberlost Forest Reserve and Hunters Bay Trail are all within 50 minutes. There are also 3 beaches close by.
We are located 15 minutes north of Bracebridge and 7 minutes south of Huntsville, just off of Highway # 11.
Fairy, Mary, Vernon and Peninsula Lakes are all within minutes of the suite. There are public boat ramps where you can put your boat in the water.
If you don't own a boat but would like to rent one, Huntsville Marine can help you out. There are beaches very close by. Kayak, canoe, boat and paddle board rentals are all available in Huntsville. The rental shop, Algonquin Outfitters, it is in downtown Huntsville and on right on the water!
Our house rules: no smoking, no parties.
Well behaved pets are welcome!
The pets are to stay off the furniture and are not to be left unattended in the Guest House unless crated.
There is just one Guest House on the property. We live on the property but our house cannot be seen from your suite..
Check out time must be no later than 11 a .m.
unless arranged the night before checkout.
Early arrivals are permitted! I will text you once the Guest House has been readied for your arrival. Once you receive the text you can check-in. (2p.m. is the absolute latest in any event)

My husband and I so enjoyed our time in this special retreat. Because of the amenities, and the lovely autumn surrounding, this little cabin far exceeded any hotel room! It was wonderful having our dog Molly be part of this experience. Our host Jim, was very helpful and provided an interesting and personal connection. We could not have asked for anything more during our 3 night stay!

We absolutely loved our visit at Griffyn Ridge. The rental was large enough for our pack of people and pets and everything we needed was provided by Lynne and Jim. The surrounding space is quiet but close enough Huntsville to take advantage of the town offerings (shopping, hiking, etc.) Our privacy was respected, yet daily conversations with the owners and morning visits from their dogs were very much welcomed. Thanks again for the hospitality!

This is a small but perfectly formed property. The hosts have considered everything, even providing bikes, helmets, head torches and binoculars. The bed was comfortable and the space cosy. Sitting out on the porch listening to the birds singing when it’s raining is just bliss. Frankie and Willow the dogs come down for a visit and the hens and goats make this a very unique space.The hosts are lovely and I can highly recommend Gryffin Ridge.

Jim and Lynne are super friendly and welcoming, they touched based to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The cabin is extremely well appointed and has everything you need and more, the fresh eggs from the hobby farm chickens were a lovely touch and we enjoyed them for breakfast.
Gryffin Ridge is delightful, if you’re in need of somewhere to relax and reset, read a book or generally disconnect from the routine of your life then this is the place.

We could not have asked for a better stay or host! Jim and Lynne welcomed us from the first minute we arrived and made us feel like old friends. My wife and I travelled to the Huntsville area to hike for a weekend in the spring. 30+ reviewers didn’t get it wrong with their 5-star reviews… Beautiful location, very serene; well-maintained, well-appointed and very comfortable guest cottage that was perfect for a weekend trip for two. We also loved the goats, chickens and dogs. Super hospitality and communication/responsiveness. Lynne and Jim went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay.

Lynne and Jim went above and beyond what one might expect from even the most hospitality oriented rental property owners. They are truly generous and wonderful humans with a keen interest in making your stay as comfortable as possible. Their property (interior and environment) is also EPIC - so much to take in and we wish we had another week to fully take it all in. We look forward to our next Muskoka escape to the magical Gryffin Lodge.

My husband and I stayed overnight at this fabulous property before heading into Algonquin Park. The cabin was lovely and included everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. Lynne's flexibility and hospitality were unparalleled. The best part, though, was the animals! We loved playing with sweet dog Willow and watching the chickens and the goats. Our only regret is that we don't live closer so that we could visit more often. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Huntsville area, we recommend this property highly! We'd rebook in a heartbeat.

Our first chance to get away in 15 months was highly successful. We had a Father's Day Dinner the day of our arrival, at my daughter's new cottage, just 15 minutes away from the property. At the time the Vrbo reservation was made last February, there was no talk of a cottage.
The next day we toured Huntsville, had lunch at a pub on the water, drove to Dorset Ontario and returned to our retreat. After a rest, we went back to Huntsville for dinner at another pub on the lake.
We left the next morning for home with many fond memories.

We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful stay at Gryffin Ridge. Their hospitality and attention to detail made us feel right at home. It's an deal central location for exploring the Muskoka region. We loved seeing the various birds, chipmunks and even wild turkeys on the property.

Lynne and Jim are friendly and accommodating hosts. The living space is clean, spacious and has just about everything that one may need. And the property is charming, scenic and very close to Huntsville, Arrowhead Park and Algonquin Park without being too close and noisy. It was quite peaceful.
I would recommend Gryffin Ridge to anyone without hesitation. We cannot wait to return in the near future.

This place is magical, its cozy enough to relax and have a couple of beverages a glass of wine and its a stones throw away from eveything you could want. Jim and Lynne were nothing but amazing, their property has an amazing overlook and accomodations. The bed was comfy and springy, the kitchen had 99.8% of everything we needed to cook and they even had little moose cookies with the antlers and feet dipped in chocolate and a small little gift bag. It was an incredibly professional well kept, beautiful place and i would love to go back next summer if i can

Lynne and Jim went above and beyond. The moose cookies were definitely an added touch. It was a quiet place for a very nice and relaxing weekend. This place truest is a hidden gem! There was nothing that we didn’t like about this place.
