First time visitors to Maine, our family connecting from four states, we throughly enjoyed our stay in this immaculate, rustic yet roomy, well equipped cottage. Our adult children enjoyed making a fire in the wood burning stove when the weather turned cool in the evenings- and we were very comfortable playing board games and sleeping under the provided quilts when the cool weather surprised us. Besides hiking we were able to squeeze in a sail at sunset at northeast harbor (Sail Acadia-Capt. Marc- excellent!) The nearby restaurants provided a variety of great food choices- especially enjoyed the bread form Little Notch Bakery, and fresh food from Eat a Pita! There is an abundance of lobster dining, and we did our share of sampling (Beals and Chart House)- don't forget to try the blueberry ale!!! The nearby butterfly garden is a lovely place to sit by the lake and enjoy the peace and beauty. Host Marc generously offered bounty from the vegetable garden where we found delicious tomatoes, peppers, and saw soon to be harvested beans, carrots, and melons. Marc prepared a very useful book of nearby experiences, and his advice was extremely helpful and accurate. Don't overlook the Conscious Grounds free popovers and oatmeal! Appreciated that provided wood and kindling were replenished by staff regularly! Very courteous and helpful staff! Thank you Marc, Annette and Jen!! Would love to return!

Coming from four states, our family met for a hiking retreat for our first trip to Maine. The rustic yet IMMACULATE Blue House, tucked in pine trees was private, thoughtfully and well equipped . Host Marc greeted us to answer any questions and provided us with a notebook of activities and restaurants nearby. He suggested we tour the garden and help ourselves to the growing produce. (We had tasty tomatoes, peppers and enjoyed seeing the soon to be harvest ready beans, melons, and carrots.) When cool weather surprised us, we felt comfortable warmed by the fire, which our adult children enjoyed building, in the wood stove while we played games. All slept well under the provided quilts. We enjoyed Eat a Pita, Little Notch Bakery's breads and pizza. There is an abundance of lobster dining, and we did our share of sampling (Beals and Chart House)- don't forget to try the blueberry ale!!! The proximity to Acadia helped us to accomplish hiking many trails and seeing the sights leisurely. We managed to squeeze in a sunset sail on Sail Arcadia's Helen Brooks with Capt. Mile- excellent! The flowers and lake at the Butterfly Garden are lovely! Don't miss free popovers, oatmeal and coffee at Common Goods coffee kitchen. Looking forward to returning to sample some of the spots we missed this trip. We really appreciated the free wood and kindling that were replenished regularly by courteous, helpful staff.

This was our fourth year staying at Anna's cottages. The Blue House has a nice big driveway close to the laundry and hospitality suite. It's a short, five minute walk into town for breakfast or ice cream at night and very comfortable. My kids enjoyed Anna's beautiful fir forest, nightly fire pit and eating wild blueberries. The house is close to all the best hiking trails, Echo Lake and a short drive from the Carriage Roads. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
