The house had everything we needed! The location was great to walk into town and explore. Hosts were very nice and helpful.

House was as described, clean, and in great location for walks to park, Bar Harbor, and short trip into Acadia National Park. Highly recommend!

Super clean and walkable to everywhere in town. Augie was so nice and helpful! Best fireworks I’ve ever seen!!

This property is in an amazing location for a trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Downtown Bar Harbor is a 5 minute walk away and Acadia is within a few miles drive. House is spacious with all the features/amenities you want in a home away from home. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our trip and this property was a great home base for our adventures. Hosts were also amazing with great communication. Highly recommended!

Super clean house, great location. It was exactly as pictured on the rental listing. Check in was simple. It is a great home base for exploring Bar Harbor (walk to everything!) and Acadia. We were so busy hiking, biking and enjoying the outdoors that we didn’t spend too much time in the house, but it was a relaxing and quiet spot for us to rest up for the next day’s activities. Definitely recommend! PS- Cafe This Way has the best pancakes!!

Had a nice stay here. It was perfectly located close to Acadia park, trails, activities and for walking to downtown Bar Harbor. We weren’t home much except to sleep, but it was comfortable… except for one of our group w allergies.

Maryellen and Augie's place is awesome. So close to Bar Harbor main street and the major national park hikes and sights but off on a quiet street. Very spacious and clean.

We had a great time staying at "acadia escape"! It was the perfect place to come home to after a day of hiking. My husband and I worked remotely and we both had plenty of space for our laptops and monitors. The location is SO convenient to the main streets of Bar Harbor but it's also in a quiet residential road -- the perfect combination! We couldn't be happier with our time there.

Wonderful week in Acadia National Park. Home was convenient for all of our hiking objectives. The hosts were supportive and the home was exactly as described.

We stayed a week-our second visit
The owners were there to welcome us and to let us know that they or their representatives would be available for questions or problems
The house is commodious and has too many thoughtful and considerate features for me to list
Thoroughly clean-beyond any vacation house that we have rented.
Plenty of parking, so you are able to walk everywhere in town.
Hard wood floors, An excellent kitchen, gas grill, outdoor or indoor seating

Acadia Escape is a beautiful older home located within walking distance of the downtown shops and restaurants. We were glad to have off-street parking available, as parking in Bar Harbor can be a challenge. Augie and Maryellen were wonderful hosts, checking in with us shortly after our arrival. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose Acadia Escape again in the future!
4.8
Really nice stay. Perfect location smack dab in the middle of town.
It definitely has a vacation cottage feel. Older, but charming and kept up nicely. Lots of space for everyone, and a really nice big backyard with off street parking.
Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at Maryellen and Augusta’s home. It was a great location and we could walk everywhere in town. We were also very close to Acadia National Park, which was amazing. They were wonderful hosts and I most definitely will stay here again. I can’t wait to come back.

We had a wonderful time at Acadia Escape. The best part was the location to town. We walked everywhere and utilized the island explorer throughout most of our stay to get into the park.
The house is pretty simple and basic, but we weren’t there most of the time-we were out exploring the island.
4.8
Came back for second stay at house with 4 adults and two teens. Fantastic location to walk to town and still be on quiet street. House is just as advertised. Easy access to Acadia which is amazing at every turn.
4.8
We love coming to Acadia Escape! This is our second time here and will always be our first choice. It has everything we need for great stay You can’t beat the location. Having a driveway and being able to walk up town every night is a plus. Can’t wait to be back!

Your hosts, Maryellen and Augie, are warm and considerate. The house is spotless and spacious. The house is convenient to everything in town--the Shore Path, restaurants, and Hannaford. If the buses are running, you won't need to take your car anywhere, significantly enhancing your vacation.
4.8
Great spot for what we needed. Could walk to everything. Driveway is tight for larger vehicles but awesome to have off street parking!

We enjoyed our week at this property. Close to downtown, close to Hannaford's, close to a few walking trails, great off street parking, rooms larger than expected, clean, neat and comfortable. Everything you needed to prepare meals. (including lobster) truly a treat.
4.8
The location of the home was excellent. A short walk to town and a short drive to Acadia. The house was clean and as advertised. Would recommend for a family although the one bathroom could be challenging for a large family. But overall ... 5 Stars.

We stayed here with our 3 young adult kids. Perfect location. Able to walk to everything. After spending the day hiking, biking, kayaking, etc we walked to town for dinner and a little shopping. Auggie came and introduced himself at the beginning of our stay and let us he know he and MaryEllen were available if we needed anything. He even procured a tomato from someone's garden for me.
The house had all linens provided as well as paper products and laundry soap. Such a nice bonus for a vaca rental.
Everyone is asking when we're coming back.
4.8
The house is bigger than expected and has old home charm. Very clean and comfortable in a great location for walking to town.

I wasn't sure what to expect and boy what a delight! The outside picture doesn't do justice to the warm and homey feel of the house. Settled in right away. The owner was quick to come to my rescue on the tv remote usage. I told her we would be going to The Reading Room for dinner (outstanding!!). She recommended the crab cake and the infused watermelon for appetizers. So delicious! Thank you!! Everything that you need is there at the house. There wasn't enough time to do everything so we definitely want to come back and this will be the home I'll be hoping to reserve!

Our family likes to keep busy when we visit Bar Harbor and Acadia, and this property allowed us to do that! From easy access to the center of Bar Harbor, to access for the Island Explorer bus system, to a short walk to the Shore Path, and even to a driveway large enough that friends staying in Southwest could park and walk into the center of BH with us! This place met our needs to a T. Clean and well-equipped, we would have booked the Acadia Escape for next year if it hadn't already been booked!
4.8
The location is what makes this home a great stay. Communication with the owner while we were there was very good. All appliances and plumbing were in working order.
4.8
This house was in a great location, walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor and just a short drive to all that Acadia has to offer. The house, although older, was clean and functional for our family. We enjoyed all the space, the ability to cook our own meals, and the proximity to Bar Harbor. It was great having a dedicated driveway just for us and a small backyard area to hang out in. Thank you to Augie and Maryellen for checking up on us to make we had all that we needed to enjoy our time.
4.8
Great location, just a couple min walk from the middle of bar harbor and easy access to island shuttles. Was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Everything was great. Really love the location. Easy to walk to everything in Bar Harbor and a quick drive to everything in Acadia. Hope to be back soon!

The location of Acadia Escape is phenomenal!

This is a very nice property within close walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor, and a 5 minute drive to Acadia National Park. The place was very roomy with a large kitchen, dining room, and living room. The bedrooms (3, plus small baby's room with crib) and bathroom are all upstairs. There is also a nice backyard with table, hammock, a grill, and they even have a bike rack with lock.
Great hosts and and easy check-in (on your own) procedure.
I highly recommend for someone wanting a nice and reasonably priced place to stay while in Bar Harbor.

A classic New England home in the heart of town
Getting to this house – with its own parking – is so easy, and it’s in the heart of town! The shops (Bar Harbor has some great shopping!), restaurants, etc are all within easy walking distance.
The house itself has a wonderful charm, enhanced by the large sunny garden to the rear. It is well set out and fully equipped – even had some blueberry jam waiting for us!
There are so many things you can do from Bar Harbor: Acadia National Park (so much to offer: we particularly enjoyed the Ocean Path and the Carriage Roads); Schoodic Peninsula; Bar Island – this is a must!
And all to soon we had to leave! Thank you Maryellen and Augie for allowing us to share your beautiful house in your beautiful town.

Great in-town location, walking distance to center of Bar Harbor. Maryellen and Augie are super hosts, very friendly, helpful plus accommodating. Spacious apartment.
4.8
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Quick ride to Acadia where we hiked and biked every day and just a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants. Kitchen had all the basics and plenty of cookware, dishes, and cleaning supplies. Bed was quite comfortable, sofas not so much, but we didn’t come here to sit around, so not a big deal. Appreciated host checking in with us and hope to return again soon.

This was our first time to Bar Harbor and we had a great stay. The location of the house was perfect. The house was clean and we appreciated that it was stocked with laundry supplies, olive oil, etc.
4.8
Right in town, but away from the noise, in fact I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this home is due to the location. Liked that the bedrooms were on a separate floor for when my girls (11 and 8) went to sleep. Fantastic back yard to grill, lounge on the hammock in-between activities and enjoy the great weather during our outdoor meals.
One area for the owners it consider is to replace the dining room rug. It is old and I think was the cause of a bit of mildew smell...
Loved the blueberry jam they left for us, even bought more before we left!
4.8
The house was a perfect spot for my family! The location was perfect! We were able to walk to town easily, run or bike to the park, and we had plenty of space to spread out and relax. My kids also loved being close to the playground and kids pool.
We’d definitely stay again!

Ideal place to stay to explore Bar Harbor and Acadia. The house is well equipped, with everything you need, including things like coffee filters, aluminum foil, etc.
