This is a charming house that is so convenient to the beach and park. It's fully furnished with everything we needed for a great long weekend trip. We loved our visit to Muskegon - there is so much to do - free music, great restaurants, many wineries and breweries. We would definitely come back.

Perfect location to walk to the beach. There are different areas of the beach to explore within walking distance. The submarine museum is cool and walking distance. We were close enough to drive to neighboring cities to check out also. We’d come back!

We stayed here for a summer beach vacation, and the location is perfect. We could easily walk to the beach, to The Deck for dinner/drinks, and to Dockers for dinner/drinks. Plus we could easily get to other parts of Muskegon throughout the week for get-togethers with family. We loved our morning walks out on the pier, and on the beach, that is always the best time for Pere Marquette. The house was very clean, and the check-in process with Steve was easy, he provided great information and was a pleasure to work with. The house had plenty of room for all of us (4 adults), even enough room for one evening when we had family over for dinner. I originally reserved the house for 2020 but due to the pandemic we had to reschedule twice, and Kimberly was very accommodating and easy to work with to move out our dates. My only complaint is that guests have to wash all linens and towels, which was difficult considering that I had a 10 drive back to Virginia. So doing multiple loads of laundry the morning we had to check out was impossible. We ended up bringing our own linens and towels in order to make the check out process easier. My experience is that most owners have renters start the first load of laundry, but this is the first house I've stayed at where all lines and towels had to be washed. But overall the house was great, we really enjoyed our time in Muskegon. Thank you Kimberly!

The cottage is very cute. It’s older with a lot of character. Everything runs/works well. The beach is about a 5 min walk away so it’s easier with a wagon to haul the toys and towels, etc. The beach has restrooms and concessions, volleyball nets, a cool bar-restaurant at the edge, and plenty of space even when busy. The sand is like sandbox playsand—SO soft, no shells!

This house is so cute & clean w/ nice furniture/decorations. We LOVED it! The owners are awesome & responsive. The living room is set up perfectly with a day bed, smart TV, game table, desk & sitting area. The dining room has a large table which is great for meals and playing games. Being that this is a 100+ year old lake cottage, the bedrooms are small. Two of the bedrooms have dressers, double beds, and closets with one of the bedrooms having a dressing table with a mirror for additional storage. The third bedroom has a futon for sleeping or sitting/relaxing. The kitchen is stocked with everything you will need, including a garbage disposal, dishwasher, dishes, pots/pans, seasonings, dish towels, etc. The basement has a washer/dryer, which was super convenient for washing suits and beach towels after beach days. The backyard is large with a fire pit. The front porch was a nice place to relax. This was our first trip to Muskegon, MI & we will return. It's not overly touristy, so it's perfect for relaxing; nothing was crowded, including beaches during 4th of July weekend (there were a lot of people, but there was a lot of space for our group). Much to do within a quarter mile of the house. Nearby, we went to the USS Submarine Museum where we walked the indoor/outdoor exhibits, along with tours of a WWII submarine & a US Coast Guard ship. We also went up a lighthouse just past the US Coast Guard area. You can also drive into town for local museums, including an art museum, a museum on Michigan history great for families with hands-on exhibits great for kids, and house tours. There is a large park with picnic tables and a playground directly across the street. Just past the park is the beach. We walked to the beach - it was super close. There are two areas of the beach -- the closer area is where boats can dock in the water - the water is warmer, the waves are less, the sand has more sticks/shells, there is an outhouse for bathroom needs, and there are fewer people. The second beach area is vast with beautiful sand and waves. That area has a snack shack, beach shower, and bathrooms. We spent time at both beaches. Both beach areas are very close to a great restaurant, The Deck. The house is down the street from the canal that connects Lake Michigan & Lake Muskegon. Walking distance from the house is another beach on Lake Muskegon. The canal is great for watching boats. Love this house; location is perfect! Can't wait to return!

We had a great time! The house was very clean and had a great location. We loved the area, and enjoyed the very short walk across the park to the lake. It was super helpful to have a washer/dryer there for us. The beds were small (double) and not comfortable. And, I was disappointed when we were told not to set the A/C below 74. Some updated mattresses and tweaks to the house rules, and it would be a solid 5 stars.
