Nice accommodations.

This is a charming house that is so convenient to the beach and park. It's fully furnished with everything we needed for a great long weekend trip. We loved our visit to Muskegon - there is so much to do - free music, great restaurants, many wineries and breweries. We would definitely come back.

Perfect location to walk to the beach. There are different areas of the beach to explore within walking distance. The submarine museum is cool and walking distance. We were close enough to drive to neighboring cities to check out also. We’d come back!

We stayed here for a summer beach vacation, and the location is perfect. We could easily walk to the beach, to The Deck for dinner/drinks, and to Dockers for dinner/drinks. Plus we could easily get to other parts of Muskegon throughout the week for get-togethers with family. We loved our morning walks out on the pier, and on the beach, that is always the best time for Pere Marquette. The house was very clean, and the check-in process with Steve was easy, he provided great information and was a pleasure to work with. The house had plenty of room for all of us (4 adults), even enough room for one evening when we had family over for dinner. I originally reserved the house for 2020 but due to the pandemic we had to reschedule twice, and Kimberly was very accommodating and easy to work with to move out our dates. My only complaint is that guests have to wash all linens and towels, which was difficult considering that I had a 10 drive back to Virginia. So doing multiple loads of laundry the morning we had to check out was impossible. We ended up bringing our own linens and towels in order to make the check out process easier. My experience is that most owners have renters start the first load of laundry, but this is the first house I've stayed at where all lines and towels had to be washed. But overall the house was great, we really enjoyed our time in Muskegon. Thank you Kimberly!

We had a great stay. It was the perfect location and had everything we needed. The host was very responsive.

The cottage is very cute. It’s older with a lot of character. Everything runs/works well. The beach is about a 5 min walk away so it’s easier with a wagon to haul the toys and towels, etc. The beach has restrooms and concessions, volleyball nets, a cool bar-restaurant at the edge, and plenty of space even when busy. The sand is like sandbox playsand—SO soft, no shells!

This house is so cute & clean w/ nice furniture/decorations. We LOVED it! The owners are awesome & responsive. The living room is set up perfectly with a day bed, smart TV, game table, desk & sitting area. The dining room has a large table which is great for meals and playing games. Being that this is a 100+ year old lake cottage, the bedrooms are small. Two of the bedrooms have dressers, double beds, and closets with one of the bedrooms having a dressing table with a mirror for additional storage. The third bedroom has a futon for sleeping or sitting/relaxing. The kitchen is stocked with everything you will need, including a garbage disposal, dishwasher, dishes, pots/pans, seasonings, dish towels, etc. The basement has a washer/dryer, which was super convenient for washing suits and beach towels after beach days. The backyard is large with a fire pit. The front porch was a nice place to relax.
This was our first trip to Muskegon, MI & we will return. It's not overly touristy, so it's perfect for relaxing; nothing was crowded, including beaches during 4th of July weekend (there were a lot of people, but there was a lot of space for our group). Much to do within a quarter mile of the house. Nearby, we went to the USS Submarine Museum where we walked the indoor/outdoor exhibits, along with tours of a WWII submarine & a US Coast Guard ship. We also went up a lighthouse just past the US Coast Guard area. You can also drive into town for local museums, including an art museum, a museum on Michigan history great for families with hands-on exhibits great for kids, and house tours.
There is a large park with picnic tables and a playground directly across the street. Just past the park is the beach. We walked to the beach - it was super close.
There are two areas of the beach -- the closer area is where boats can dock in the water - the water is warmer, the waves are less, the sand has more sticks/shells, there is an outhouse for bathroom needs, and there are fewer people. The second beach area is vast with beautiful sand and waves. That area has a snack shack, beach shower, and bathrooms. We spent time at both beaches. Both beach areas are very close to a great restaurant, The Deck.
The house is down the street from the canal that connects Lake Michigan & Lake Muskegon. Walking distance from the house is another beach on Lake Muskegon. The canal is great for watching boats.
Love this house; location is perfect! Can't wait to return!

We had a great time! The house was very clean and had a great location. We loved the area, and enjoyed the very short walk across the park to the lake. It was super helpful to have a washer/dryer there for us. The beds were small (double) and not comfortable. And, I was disappointed when we were told not to set the A/C below 74. Some updated mattresses and tweaks to the house rules, and it would be a solid 5 stars.

Cute cottage with a perfect location. Very nice park across the street, short walk to the beach and The Deck Restaurant on the beach. Walk to the submarine museum and short walk to the channel.
House was very clean and neat. Fun selection of toys for the kids and a wagon in the basement. Beware, no lock on bathroom door - it didn't even latch. Ended up using a baby gate to keep toddlers out of the bathroom. Not too convenient!
Nice washer and dryer in the basement but dishwasher doesn't seem to work. Eventually sprayed some water but dishes weren't clean. Ended up washing them all by hand.
Great communication with owner and easy check in.
Yard very well groomed and nice. Front porch was great for sitting for awhile after little ones in bed. Bedrooms were fine but middle bedroom has the squeakiest bed we've ever encountered! Ended up switching rooms with son and daughter in law because bed made so much noise it kept waking up the baby!
One of the stipulations when we checked in was that temperature of air conditioning was not to be lowered below 75 degrees which was pretty steamy the week we were there.
Super nice community and best beach we have ever seen anywhere! And we've seen a lot of beaches!
It is very nice to not have a cleaning fee, but the drawback to this was that you must wash and fold all the towels, wash and put away all dishes from dishwasher, strip all sheets from beds and wash them and fold them before you leave. 90% of laundry had to be done before leaving. Since we used all 3 bedrooms this meant we had to get up at 6:30am our last morning to strip the beds and get all sheets washed, dried and folded before we left at 11:00am. There is a fee involved in lots of things - like if you leave a window open, or if you leave dishes in dishwasher, etc. This is taken out of your deposit. The house was to be left in the condition that you found it, so we ran the sweeper, etc. Honestly we'd rather pay the cleaning fee than spend a half a day cleaning before we check out. We got our entire deposit back but I worried about it!
Overall we really had a wonderful week in this cute cottage on the lake. You just couldn't find a better location!

We had an amazing stay. Short walk to the beach with a park right out front for the kids to play. The house was well equipped with everything we needed including a little wagon to pull beach stuff which was super helpful. We didn't move our car for days. Just the vacation we needed.

Our family of 6 enjoyed a pleasant week here. The common rooms have a view of the lakefront and were nice for hanging out and enjoying a meal together.

Wonderful! The property is great, and the home is just luxurious. People that come to visit, ooh and aah about it. I can't recommend it enough! T & S
