About this house rental
This beautiful 1950's home has been lovingly restored and decorated by an interior designer with themed rooms. It's outstanding feature is the beautiful Dade County Pine floors that have been completely refinished in the living room, dining room, hall and both bedrooms. We have owned this home since 2002, but just recently turned it into a vacation rental. The home is generously sized and has a huge back deck with dining table and chairs, lounge chairs and fire pit looking into mature palm and oak trees with a tropical feel.
Location, Location, location! The home faces Osceola Street which has lighted sidewalks into the downtown shopping and restaurant district. You can pick up a free city tram a couple of blocks from the house and never drive or need to look for parking. Downtown art and music festivals are walking distance from the home.
Our discount structure gives you a free day for every 9 days you stay with us. Stay with us 30 nights or more and the site will automatically calculate a 20% discount, stay with us 7 nights or more and you will receive a 10% discount.
Original bathrooms are small but charming with original tile floors and tile wainscoting both with a shower and tub combo. WELCOME TO PARADISE!
Stuart is an ideal location for anyone seeking the warmth of the Florida sunshine. With its 22 miles of white sand beaches, crystal blue waters, premier golfing and waves for surfers, it’s got a little bit of everything. Centrally located for day trips to Disney, Miami, West Palm Beach and more! A true Florida gem that celebrates small-town life and that hard-to-find "Old Florida " feel. Martin County boasts a beautiful natural landscape from ocean, to river, to lake and everything in between, a treasure grove of activities, minus the crowds!
Everyone is talking about Stuart, honored for having the best tasting water, 2008 Most Beautiful City in America for it's size, 2015 ranked No. 3 by Smithsonian Magazine as best small town to visit, 2015 ranked as most beautiful and charming places to visit in Florida and recently honored as happiest seaside town by Coastal Magazine.
Things to do:
Relax, leave that cell behind! Grab your beach chair, the area's many public beaches are a short drive away. Stuart Beach is just 2.2 miles, a mere 3 minutes from our home. But there are 18 public beaches to explore in Martin County alone. It's the Treasure Coast, you can a scour our beaches for all kinds of treasure; the best time to go beach combing for seashells, sea glass or Spanish gold... is during low tide and after storms. We are home to the last remaining House of Refuge, the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge, the St. Lucie Inlet preserve, and Nature's Conservancy, the Blowing Rocks Preserve .
"Enjoy our Good Nature"! We have beautiful parks here and many to choose from. Indian Riverside Park with its Sailfish Splash Park, fishing beach and pier, historic Captain Sewell s home and the Mansion at Tuckahoe, the Children's Museum and the Sailing Center all only 2.4 miles away! You can hike or canoe/kayak at Jonathon Dickens State Park or any of the many waterways and rivers in our area. The Stuart Causeway and boat ramp is only 1.7 miles away. Bring your own boat and explore the area. Sandsprit Park is less than 5 miles and a ten minute drive to a large boat ramp, beautifully recently renovated facilities, picnicking, and fishing, your quickest and most direct access to the inlet by boat and our two most popular sandbars.
Fish, World Class Fishing & Charters! Stuart is the Sailfish Capitol of the World! The Stuart Causeway and boat ramp is only 1.7 miles away. Bring your own boat and explore the area! Visit the sand bars, cruise up the river fishing for tarpon or head out the inlet for dolphin. Reservations for Deep-Sea offshore fishing trips can be made at the Marriott Marina just minutes away. My grandfather originally discovered this fishing gem along with several of our Presidents back in the mid 1920's, in 1949 he retired here to do what he wanted to do the most
Eat! There are great restaurants located on the Island and just a short drive down the street is Historic Downtown Stuart and Downtown Jensen, your taste buds will not be deprived. any foodie will be happy with the unique and many local slow food options available including restaurants, bars, breweries and wineries.
Shop! Downtown Stuart is 3.5 miles away and offers an eclectic mix of boutiques and shops. Palm Beach Gardens Mall is a world-class shopping destination with over 160 stores and restaurants and Vero Beach Outlets offer more than 50 stores.
Surf! You won’t find better waves in south Florida. Hawaiian, Californian and Australian surfers still scratch their heads in wonder at how Florida managed to produce Kelly Slater, the greatest surfer who ever lived, as well as disproportionate number of athletes who earned spots on the elite world tour.
Well, most of Florida’s East Coast offers a diversity of waves that have groomed some of the sport’s finest. Plus, the surf gets really good here in the Sunshine State, more often than you’d think, especially along the Treasure Coast.
Learn! The Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center is a 57-acre marine life nature center with sea turtles, sting rays and is within walking distance. The Elliott Museum has undergone a major re-visioning focusing on art, history and technology. Both are only 2.7 miles from your home away from home.

Nice roomy house with comfortable furniture…decorated nicely. 2 bathrooms. There’s a nice patio in the backyard and nice porch on the front of the house. Everything you need. A little far to downtown…took us about 20 minutes to walk there.

Visiting family who came to the rental for a meal and everyone loved the outdoor space.

This home mostly worked out very well for us with our 3 adult children and a dog. We enjoyed walking around the lovely neighborhood - to the waterfront on two sides just a few blocks away. The open spaces of the living room, office and kitchen are generous and comfortable. We were dismayed to learn foldout mattress must be blown up. We didn’t see any directions for this which is odd considering all of the other helpful messages provided by the homeowner.
2.0 / 10.0
The house was great, but a lot of traffic noise, no toilet paper, septic alarm going off because of 1950's toilet, 1950's windows that we were instructed not to open, creepy laundry room, screen on dryer full. We were accused of smoking in the house and purposely plugging the toilet on our first days there. Not true. But I was charged.

I went down for a work trip and brought my wife and our Yorkie. It was nice that downtown was so close for shopping and dinner. Very nice house and yard. We would stay here again.

Just spent three weeks here so I am very familiar with this home. I
Home is very roomy and will accommodate 4-5 people easily
Nicely decorated with comfortable furnishings
Bedrooms are very large with big walk in closets and comfortable mattresses.
Flooring is great.
Kitchen is roomy with most things you need.
Location is good about 8-10 minutes from Stuart beach. Walk downtown in 18 minutes. Area seemed very safe.
Backyard is lacking with disgusting mildewed and filthy umbrella and cheap rusted out grill. Both items should be thrown out. and replaced.
Bathrooms are tiny as advertised with difficult water pressure and temperature adjustment. Enamel in bathtubs is worn off and unsightly.
Four beach chairs provided two old and rusted. Styrofoam $2.00 cooler provided.
Policy regarding replacing everything like toilet paper is just very cheap on owners part. We were given two rolls of toilet paper and no laundry soap. It would cost them $10-$15 with a trip to Dollar general to make sure everything is there.
With a little extra detail and attention this could be a much nicer property.
It just felt a little tired and I think the owners could do a little more for there guests.

The Osceola Beach house was a clean, comfortable and convenient place to stay in Stuart during our little fall getaway. Close to downtown and easy to get to the beaches. Virginia was a great host easy to communicate in advance and check in easy. We recommend the house for other families visiting the area.

The location was good, walkable to Stuart, which we enjoy. The backyard was lovely, and we had breakfast and dinner out on the patio, which was cool and shady - wonderful trees! The house was nice, and comfortable.

Comfortable home in a nice neighborhood
This was our first visit to the Stuart area and we wanted to find a place centrally located and this home worked out perfectly! Close to downtown and a short drive to the ocean beaches but in a quiet neighborhood near the river that was pleasant to walk in. The house was very clean, nicely sized, and very tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a large dining table. The furniture was very comfortable as was the king sized bed in the master bedroom. We enjoyed our stay very much.

My son and I really enjoyed staying in David and Virginia's Stuart place. Wonderful location to downtown Stuart and our other Florida family. We needed a comfy home base with easy accommodations. Wonderful home in great location
This house was the perfect solution for our stay in Stuart. The house is roomy and has a large property by FLA standards. The location is perfect for walks into town and after the 1 mile walk you don't feel guilty hitting the ice cream shops. Access to the beach is also a quick and simple drive. Our hosts were very responsive and we would absolutely stay here again.

AMAZING HOME AND IN A GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD
Our stay was FANTASTIC, the bed and the couch was so very comfortable, we loved having a car port so that we were able to load up the night before we left due to the typical Florida rainstorm. I especially loved the desk as I was able to do some work and not be crammed in a chair where I can' t be productive so this was my most thankful things; The home is impecabally decorated and maintained and communication with Virginia was extremely responsive. This home is close to downtown Stuart and the beaches which gives you a great place to stay we will definaetly stay there again.

Great home, accommodations and location!
We were visiting my dad in FL and wanted him to say with us, "on vacation" to give my sister a break. Since I'd be cooking in, I was happy with the kitchen accommodations for meal preparation. All of the rooms are well appointed too. You'll enjoy your stay with these great hosts!

Great stay
Good location - the house was more spacious then we expected, comfortable and clean. We very much appreciated the easiness of the check-in/check out process, as well as having the use of the laundry room. Owners are responsive and knowledgeable. Would stay here again.

location, location, location
We were pleasantly surprised with the property. The location was ideal for all of our needs (love Old Stuart).
The kitchen was fully stocked w/ matching dishes , did miss my dishwasher !!
The master br was lovely, spacious and bright.
The wooden floors were beautiful.
Positive feedback would include : light colored paint throughout would brighten the interior, the yard could use some attention and the lockbox is cranky !!
