About this resort

This fabulous Three Bedroom Spa Suite has three bedrooms and two king-size beds and two queen-size beds, three bathrooms with two Jacuzzi tubs, a private terrace with a plunge pool, a gourmet kitchen, one living space with sleeper sofa, two dining rooms, and five TVs.

Vidanta is truly extraordinary. We have travelled all over the world and have never seen anything comparable. With approximately 25 restaurants and pools, it is amazing. It’s organized in pods, so that if you are around the pool, you have a sense of intimacy, rather than of a huge resort. The resort brings chefs from around the world. We live in San Francisco, a restaurant Mecca, and the restaurants in Vidanta are comparable. You might want to come for the first week and then find a great other resort for the second week.

The Grand Luxxe is the highest level of accommodations on the resort, and it has pools that are exclusively for it, i.e. Grand Mayan, Grand Bliss, and Mayan Palace guests can not use the pools. This keeps the numbers around the pools down.

This was a wonderful vacation. The unit was amazing. So clean, spacious, and decorated beautifully. The towels were refreshed twice a day and the kitchen was very functional (minus kettle and oven) so we ate breakfast and snacks in the room. The resort itself is very large and it took a few days to learn our way around. However, the grounds are beautiful (including the golf course) and walking along the wooden paths is majestic. Having access to all the pools was a huge plus. Some allowed for peace and shade, others were more lively and sunny. For younger kids, there is a section of pools with a splash pad, wave pool, lazy river and water slide. My son loved the daily table tennis tournaments (check the activities schedule as there are many different activities). The restaurants on the grounds varied from good to amazing and the lunches by some of the pools were excellent (nice variety of salads and snack foods, especially at the Grand Luxxe 4 and Punta pools). We are always concerned about eating fresh fruits and vegetables when we are in Mexico or the Caribbean but we had no issues (nor did anyone we spoke to, and many people have been vacationing here for years). The resort staff were very warm and helpful. We had 2 very brief issues. Once we had no hot water, and once the air conditioning (which was typically amazing) failed. Both times a technician was at our unit repairing the problem within 10 minutes. Very stress free! The owner that we rented from, Bob, was also very helpful. He was quick to reply to question or concerns, gave restaurant suggestions, and even forwarded the hard copy of our confirmation while he was enjoying his vacation. He checked-in through out our stay and seemed genuinely interested in making this a great vacation for us. The only 2 negatives were the check-in process and the sales representatives. While the check in was very well organized (one taxi per family, one bell hop per family, many employees at the check-in desk), there were so many steps that it took a long time to get to our room. The other was the aggressive sales pitch to purchase a time-share. However, the reward for sitting through this 2-3 hour presentation is 10% off your final bill (which could also be viewed as a positive - leaving only 1 negative about the whole experience). Overall, amazing vacation and we would definitely return!
