Great property - had everything we needed. Secluded get-away up in the hills amongst the vineyards but easy access to the Autostrada for visits to Lucca and Florence.

Very comfortable and clean house. We were happy for the pool and the garden . Host couple are very kindly and helpful. The only small disadvantage of location is that you have to use a car to shop / go to a restaurant. But it only takes 5 minutes. We had a fantastic vacation!

It is a wonderful accommodation located in the middle of the vineyards. The house is perfect for a summer vacation and offers all imaginable amenities. It is equipped with insect screens on windows and also on some doors. Outdoor area: The outside area is large, wonderfully maintained and has a very large pool, which can be heated to 26 degrees if necessary. The pool is about 1.6 meters deep and long enough to swim 10 to 12 swimming strokes. The garden and the pool as well are situated on a mountain, so that you can enjoy a wonderful view into the valley. The garden is located in the middle of the vineyard. In the garden there are about 7 sunbeds, a huge parasol and a relax lounge. There is also a gas barbecue, which is directly connected to the gas pipe of the house, practical! House: The bedrooms are well kept and each room has a different theme. A baby crib is available and our daughter has felt very comfortable. The TV room is separated from the rest of the living room. The furniture in the whole house is designed for at least 6 persons. The kitchen is excellently equipped and is also suitable for large and elaborate cooking. There is also a storage room including a wine refrigerator. The highlight is the huge winter garden. It offers a view of the garden and pool area and has large sliding doors. There are also two large 'insect screen sliding doors', that provide the feeling of sitting outside with the advantage of no insects getting to you. We loved the winter garden. Every room in the house has an individual controllable AC. Landlord: The landlords are very friendly and easy to reach. They often gave us fruit and other delicacies from the garden, but at the same time remained completely unobtrusive. They are lovely people! Communication is best in French or Italian (for English or German a friend is available), but can also be done in writing through the Fewo-App. They usually answered within minutes. The beach: The sea is about 15 minutes away (by car). We gladly drove to the beach section at the 'Spiaggia libera Bagni Oasi Chiosco'. It is a free sand beach with the option of renting sunbeds and umbrellas. Shopping: Supermarket, restaurant, pizzeria, wine shop and butcher are at the foot of the mountain. About 15 minutes walking or 5 minutes by car. Directions: The house is located at the top of a mountain, which can be driven on both north and south. Be sure to take the northern route!

This villa is in an idyllic setting, with stunning views. We had a lovely week, relaxing in the gardens and cooling off in the pool, surrounded by nature in this spacious, beautifully appointed villa. Unfortunately, the owners had been called away before our arrival, but their neighbours were there to greet us and explain all we needed to know. There was also a brief guide to the property and area in English. We toured the area, which has the prettiest little villages, perched on hilltops, with fairytale castles and visited one of the colourful Cinque Terre town of Manarola where we swam in the sea and ate lunch at the cliff-edge restaurant. One of the best experiences was a visit to the world-famous marble quarry in Carrara, which involved a hair-raising drive up the mountain on a narrow, rough track with switchback bends, into the misty mountaintops. Our driver was very skilled and he and our guide made the trip both entertaining and informative. Massa Carrara is quite an industrial area, because of the marble quarrying, but it also has a lovely, long stretch of coastline and beach, which we strolled along. Also worth a visit, is the walled town of Lucca, under an hour's drive away. Here you can climb the tower for more stunning views, sip a drink at one of the bars situated in the circular piazza, formerly a Roman amphitheatre, and hire a four or two- seater bike to cycle along the tree-lined top of the city wall. The downside of this villa is the fact that, perched on the hillside as it is, there is a very narrow, twisting access road and a challenging driveway to the property, but it gets easier each time you tackle it. You cannot just stroll into the town though because the return journey would be a challenge unless you were young and fit. Supermarkets in the area are very good, making self-catering easy, but the local pizza delivery service was woeful. The stairs to the upper floor of the villa might prove difficult for some visitors. They are narrow and have two sharp turns, making it difficult to get luggage up to the rooms. And one off-putting aspect of the rural setting for me, although it might just have been a seasonal problem, were the many shield bugs which found their way into the house. While harmless, they do buzz around at night, so you don't want them in the rooms. Overall, we had a fantastic week here, in a part of Italy which is a little more off the beaten track, but which has its own charms.

We spent one week in this really beautiful place, all the time being taken care of by the owners, who were very kind , friendly and helpful, ready to give us any information we needed, sometimes brought some vegetables from their garden and made pancakes for the kids. The villa is equipped with everything you imagine - coffeemakers, all kinds of kitchen utensils and appliances, lots of dishes, a storeroom full of bottles of local vine. Air conditioning in the bedrooms was really useful. Romantic evenings sitting in the garden with a gorgeous view listening to the cicadas. Many beautiful villages to see in the surroundings, beach just 10-minutes drive and several smaller romantic beaches nearby.

Very nice and cozy villa, well equipped, with a pool. We asked to prolong our stay in this place as we liked it so much. There was enough space for 2 families, 9 persons in total. Both adult and kids liked the villa very much. Drive to the villa was a bit challenging, but when we used to it, it was OK even with our big SUV. We will definitely return to the same place in the future.
