A group of friends from around the world met for a weekend get-away. The first thing we found upon entry was a dead bat and that we had to make our own beds (the linens were provided as the listed specified). We had decided to pay the extra 200GBP for the hottub, and found that the hottub was very broken. It had a leak which required constant filling and was therefore never hot. It also only had jets there were operational on half of the hottub. The listing also specified that "pantry items" will be provided, but there was no salt, pepper, or cooking oil to be found. Mike was fairly responsive the first day, but when we ran out of toilet paper on day 2, he was no where to be found.

Booked the house to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. Mike was so helpful, great communication. Almost felt like he couldn’t do enough to make our stay all that we hoped it to be. A lovely man all round. The property is amazing. Beautifully decorated, bright, big, well laid out, and with amazing views. The bedrooms are really nice with big beds with bright rooms, bathrooms are lovely too. The images really don’t do it justice! Can’t recommend this property enough. We’re already planning a return visit!

We've just come back from a week at the Lodge and have had a fantastic time. The house overlooks Loch Fyne and has fabulous views. We swam and paddle boarded in the loch every day; my daughter was thrilled to be accompanied by a school of dolphins when paddle boarding one day. The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely decorated, and there's a great dining room. The outdoor areas of the property could do with a bit of a tidy up, but this did not spoil our holiday. Be aware that there is a road between the house and the loch so care needs to be taken with young children and dogs. The location of the house is stunning and we enjoyed visiting nearby lochs, waterfalls and the Isle of Bute (Ettrick bay was a particular highlight). Before we went we were concerned about the midges, however these did not pose any real problem; we didn't see any of them, but did get bitten when by the loch at dusk.

The house and garden as we found them were not as described and were far from the advertised ‘luxurious’. The garden was a mess, looking like a junk yard, with a rusting cherry picker parked outside the sitting room window, a car left in the drive, rubbish in evidence in the garden, for example empty mastic/filler tubes. Very poor outside seating. One crumbling picnic table and a chair were insufficient and inadequate for our group of 7 adults and 4 children. Half the garden was now fenced off from that shown in your photograph, which completely misrepresents the garden as we found it. The selection of outbuildings, static homes, decaying trampoline and dead pot plants added to the air of neglect. Indoors, the fridges and one freezer were far too small for the number of guests. You had to bang the washing machine door in a particular way in order to get it to start. Several lights did not work and no one could get any water to come into the downstairs bath and shower making that bathroom unusable as a bathroom. The bed linen, not in bags, was polyester and we had to make our own beds. As you know, you advertised all towels and there were only hand towels. The furnishings were mismatched and not high standard, especially the bedroom furniture. Not the ‘luxuriously furnished’ you advertised. Nor was it clear from the initial advertisement that we would have to pay extra for the hot tub which now has a view of a static home, fence and the decaying trampoline.

My family and I had a lovely stay in Mike and Suzanne's lodge. We found the house to be spacious, clean and very comfortable. Also as it was an old house there was a lot of character, which we liked. The views really are fantastic as well. There were a few issues mainly in that the location did not show how close the property is to the A815, which is (surprisingly) quite busy in the early morning. Also, some small quirks include the lack of storage space in some of the bedrooms (not a problem if you are staying a weekend), and that the games room wasn't usable as advertised. Both Mike and Suzanne were very friendly, easy to contact and quick to answer our questions. Overall we had a fun time on our week long holiday and loved being at the Lodge on Loch Fyne!

Good headquarters for exploring southwest Scotland. The Lodge had plenty of space for 15 people. Mike checked on us a few times.

Games room was quite as shown in description and we were hoping to use the additional sleeping area attached to games room. Perhaps we did not make that clear enough. Maybe I have been too pampered in the past but was surprised that we had to make up our own beds.
